This is one of the songs that defines the Jazz Age of the 1920's. Over on GoodOldDays channel is a priceless film clip of this tune being performed in a film from 1929! It is wonderful to see this great song on a film from the time the tune was written instead of some version filmed decades later and void of any real 1920's feeling. This song is unfortunatley portrayed as a hackneyed funny joke poking fun at the 1920's in later versions I have seen. Thanks for this version by The Savoy Orpheans.
Wonderful tune and perfect rendition by The Savoy Orpheans - just love that Tuba or whatever it is. Just acquired this version as a bonus on a CD of The Boyfriend by Sandy Wilson. Great to find others love this music - Rogers was one of the best composers!
I have been looking for MP3's of the Savoy Orpheans songs for some time now without success. Aside from youtube I have no way of listening to their great sound. Can anyone recommend a site where I can download them from? Much appreciated :) (And keep up the good work Aaron)
This definitely is one of the best videos on YouTube, indeed!
Thank you!

Bravo!
It gave Sandy Wilson - Old Harrovian - the idea for 'The Boy Friend'.
It reminds me of the wonderful Lorenz Hart song composed by Richard Rodgers before he went dull & schmaltzy with Hammerstein.
What a wonderful 20s number.
