There is NO excuse whatsoever to be so negligent as to NOT take with you a supply of nuts, while going into a residential area or a park, where there is even a POSSIBILITY of squirrels residing there.
I learned that from my own, disgraceful experience!
Squirrels ABSOLUTELY DO care about their benefactors.
The hundreds of squirrels that I have been feeding over the years have expressed their gratitude to me in many ways, including gestures of tenderness.
