The shiny polished answer: Because he is a character so deep, so profound, that words would only cheapen his screen presence.
The honest answer: There were two reasons. First we didn't want to have to write dialogue for him in the first two films in which he appeared, so by the third (this one) it has become part of his character convention. Second, I wanted the models (particularly main characters) to communicate without words.
I'm glad I read all the comments between you and Daemonia before watching. It heightened my amusement considerably. ^^ I'm also inclined to agree with her. The movement was quite impressive; particularly the monster shaking the ground towards the end.
Your credits threw in a few extra giggles for me too. XD
It also makes me think you're probably looking forward to the release of 'District 9'. Wild guess on my part though.
LOL, at 0:49, I thought that he was sitting on the toilet. ^^; The motions are so impressive! Nice job with moving the camera, too, like when the ground shakes from the big robot. :)
Where did you get a YuuPakku box?? I used to use those all the time when I lived in Japan.
Maaaan, this is so cute and funny. :) Also, the mustached scientist reminds me of Jamie from Myth Busters.
2) We got the box by ordering from Japan (can no longer remember WHAT). I thought... Where WOULD giant robot parts come from?
3) The Hyneman-ness of our Mad Animator is partially accidental. I built/styled him without thinking of anyone. I wanted the maddest scientist I could make. Once built, Jamie-ness just crept in. Mind you, he seems to have the safety-sense of Mr. Savage.
thx XD

I shall give you both answers.

They were certainly...enlightening. *clears throat*
District 9?!? It seems I've been living in a hole, and need to Google. Is that the same as just "9"?
You're welcome for the linkage, and thank YOU for the giggles.

Okay, I need to say several things.
1) You lived in Japan? *jealous*
Savage.
4) I need to find him a different chair.
