The inefficiency of aid is atrocious. I'm glad this report sheds light on the problem. I don't know how to carry about a comprehensive reform of how all the NGO's in Afghanistan should work.

Hazarajat hasn't even come close to anything resembling construction/reconstruction. NGOs and Contractors make millions while the infrastructure keeps crippling from one bad shape into worse.

Hazaras have grown sick of being ignored. It would be no surprise if they go to extreme measures to get their plight across to the international agencies. As for the establishment in Kabul, there is no government but a bunch of thugs and thieves put in charge of a capital funded by the coalition.

Paul makes a good point when he mentioned Afghanistan needs AT LEAST, one full generation of positive investment/reform/security b4 anything progressive is felt right across Afghanistan. Sure Bamyian at this stage hasn't had a lot of attention, but I'm sure there are other places that would complain of the same. Well, exactly square one. Reconstruction and development has followed military involvement in the last 7 years. How much longer do you supposed the PEACEFUL parts of the country would wait for the construction of a school or any other basic infrastructure while the volatile regions earn the aid as well as the opium cash. It has been ridiculously crazy.

I absolutely agree with the frustrations in this video, NATO forces are absolutely short-sighted when it comes to Afghanistan. But let us remember this conflict has evolved since the Seventies and will take at least one full generation of positive investment, reform and security for any change to filter through.

I would absolutely love to visit this site in Afghanistan but unfortunately its too dangerous for me.
