  • This was just gay. Drip the wax on, and don't use this stupid paper. Greetings from Norway, the homland of snow. I think we know!

  • i tryed this its good but when u put the wax on it dosnt seem to put enough on

  • @freddyphredphred

    Safeway

  • how do i know if the board i bought is already waxed

  • awesome vid, well done

  • where can you get this wax paper?

    and

is it necessary to use the 2 brushes? i usually just use a scotch pad to buff it

  • is this a kiwi girl voice over?

  • this is the best method in my opinion. dripping is such a waste...

  • so wait we can use any old wax paper like cooking wax paper?

  • best tut out there!

  • Best tut i have seen, thanks man!

  • I live in the US and I'd have to say that Japan makes the most reliable cars and products so there must be a reason why Koji is using this technique over the drip wax and non wax paper method. Its interesting to learn other styles from other countries.

  • He is definitely using a proper snowboard wax iron, the tiny holes mentioned are the microscopic holes in the snowboard base. The wax paper helps lift excess wax off, which makes scraping easier. Wax paper is not required, but just makes for easier scraping. Wax paper used in cooking will suffice, a great idea imo, makes it much quicker and requires less effort. (wax paper is grease and moisture proof, so any old wax residue on iron will not transfer on to board).

  • yep.... this is the right way to wax a snowboard, anybody that thinks differently is a fucking dipshit.

  • can you use wax and grease remover from an auto store for cleaning the base before you wax it

  • ya i really like this method .. But i only use hard brush and then some soft structure/polishing pad for the finish ;)

  • Yup, i'm from Canada and have never seen it done this way, but i live in Japan now so i'm gonna try this method. Thanks Koji ^_^ v

  • I really like this way of waxing a board. It seems to waste less wax than dripping it all over the board. Also the wax paper seems to be a good idea. She said special wax paper. What kind if wax paper is it?

  • everytime you talk i want to kill myself. get a new accent.

also learn how to wax a board

  • These really aren't the greatest instructions.

    Sorry.

  • Awesome. Simple and fast, great touch with the pretty lady voice doing the interpretation!! thanks! Very useful.

  • yeah i use just a regular paint brush is that fine?

  • Instead of using a brush to polish the board off could i just use a dish rag?

  • I am from Canada. 1:12

I never heard from any shops doing it this way.

If you can tell me where you learn this from, let me know and I want to talk to that person

  • Dont even bother with the paper, I know racers that dont even use the paper but buff them for hours...

  • @cycle2deth not being smart but do they win or loose?

  • can i use an old iron with holes if I put wax paper under it

  • just use it..u dont need the wax paper

  • can i just use regular kitchen wax paper because you do not specify which special wax paper i should use.

  • yayuh the japanese method is bomb

  • what does the wax paper do.... should i use it

  • it will help to remove the extra wax, and make the surface much smoother.

  • i think he uses wax paper because his iron has holes in the bottom? it is just used so that the iron doesnt get messed up, thats what i think. snowboard irons dont have holes in the bottom, but household clothing irons do, and thats what i think hes using

  • i will definately use this my first time waxing my board. AND IM NOT EVEN JAPANESE!!!

  • Damn, I just waxed my board this afternoon using the drip method. I will definitely give this method a try the next time I wax my board. Seems more efficient and the finish looked pretty damn good. If I get similar results I'll be using this method from now on.

  • just did this method vs the drip method on 2 of my boards, i saved alot of wax, it was faster, and the wax went on alot smoother and came off alot more even throughout the bottom of the board. i highly recommend using this method

  • ill b trying this way on my boards, i always used the drip method but this seems more efficent

  • I will be using this method on my first board

  • There is nothing wrong with this video. He waxed the entire board, scrapped it, cleaned the wax from the structure (should use a brass brush) and polished the base.

All you people that complain about technique are mental.

  • he isnt great but not a bad job for a afternoon ride...

  • wax paper i cant find that

  • look where the foil and saran wrap would be in the grocery store

  • go to any cross country ski store (they tend to have much better waxing supplies) And ask for FIBERLENE (the "wax paper" you see) Hope that helped

  • thanks

  • can i use candle wax?

  • you could but it wouldnt work very well, but i guess thats as good as the crayons i use

btw if u use crayons use only one color otherwise it looks awful

  • dude it doesn't matter which way u put on the wax

if u screw up your board then thats your problem

people aren't going to change their mind because of what someone says on Youtube

  • what a bad technique for putting on the wax. what a dumbass

  • haha i agree im not sure why im waching it but your right

  • and why is it bad? the technique is far superior than dripping the wax onto the board as you use less wax and it is a lot easier to cover the board.

  • to complicated....you can do it much easier and better!

  • totally agree with you. i don't understand other people's turning him down. quite a moronic discussion around here...

  • This video is wrong. He scrapes nose to tail as it should be and she says "from the back of the board to the front" !!!

  • its doesn't matter which way you scrap, ie: nose to tail, or tail to nose. people who think its surpose to be done one way are stupid becuase as soon as you ride switch you are going against the grain one so religiously believes in!

  • lady said, " back to front" & I thought that was an error too... he was going -left to rght-,

he was skrpn nose to tail -left to right-

(assuming the nose was really on his left)

she meant that he broke down the board into two sections 1.back half & 2. front half. while still maintaining a top to bottom scrape.

which in my view would create a seam

not that it matters to me cuz, i thnk we should abolish this whole front foot concept.

  • wow 1st time i see it like this..

why is dripping bad and why do you use wax paper?

  • its not bad, and you dont use wax paper , these people know nothing

  • is there any place that i can buy wax that is cheaper than a snowboard shop? i was thinking of like a craft store but i don't know what kind to get. i am only saying this becuase the only wax that i saw was Burton and it was $15 for like 2 uses worth.

  • sports authority, skate shop...

  • thanks i never thought of sports authority.

  • Like the video says, different wax for different conditions. Spend the $15 on good wax to get the most out of your $600+ snowboard.

  • pcxpboy your the ass hole caulm down

  • sandpaper works better than wax paper.

please try it on ur board : )

  • ur retarded.

  • nice board

  • So umm which side of the wax paper would you use? It's been a while since I've used wax paper lol, but I believe one side has wax and the other is smooth. I'm thinking the part with wax should be touching the iron plate right? Otherwise you would be ironing that wax onto the board...

  • Comment removed

  • yeah thts what seems logical, thn u could burn off or clean the "waxpapers cheap shit" from yur iron.

  • lol nice vid and go destructo93

  • GO DESTRUCTO, YOU ROCK COUSIN !

  • LOllll, It looks like I have a double personality now, XD YOU ROCK TOO MAN!!

  • lmao internet argument

  • lmao stoners

  • I work in a shop tuning boards. It's really interesting to see the way he uses the wax paper and also not dripping the wax onto the board.I'll have to try this out to see what happens

  • Do you need to wax a brand new board???

  • nope because it doesnt have dings and scratches on the bottom yet...

  • pcxboy you wax a snowboard so it slide on the snow faster and smoother not to fill in the scratches......

  • nope it works both ways the wax stays in the scratches therefore smoother.

  • hate it when people act like smartasses when they havent thought things out.

  • ya it fills um in but the wax covers the whole bottom of your board therefuckingfore makeing your board slide better and faster

  • your an idiot what happened to scraping off the wax when u scrape off the wax, the wax is left in the scratches and dents although it is scraped off the parts that do not have indentations.

  • do you even no whats on the fucking bottom of a snowbaord theres a bunch of little holes that the wax seeps into and all you scrape off is the extra that doesnt sink into the little holes

  • This is my last message to you, you do not know what they mean by tiny holes, by tiny holes they mean scratches.

  • who gives a fuck how it does it it just slides better so both of you shut the fuck up for Gods sake.

  • Who the FUCK are You to tell ME that I am an ASShole, do you listen to yourself? do You THink before writing anyFUcking thing that passes threw that tiny brain of yours? Think about what all the other people that read you hatin' on that k303030 and telling him he is an idiot and a smartass, he is saying almost exacly what you are, so now think about what all those people think about you! Your the ASSHOLE here, my friend. I cant belIEve you got the Balls, and in canada,it snows 2-4 months, not 12

  • Buddy Im not even SAYING that I know any more than any of you, I said shut the fuck up cuz there was no point to the argument! I didn't try to ofend you, I wasn't prime, you MADE me prime! in canada it is 100 degres F in the summer GO TO SCHOOL, I was born in canada But my Ma' is American, I'm a blood USA citicen. And I know there are some parts of the US that its summer all year round, doesn't meen your in them. I don't know you, I cant judge you, But I Hate you And I bet your DAMN ugly, peace

  • Go Destructo!

  • nope 'cause already waxed by the maker...retard

  • your a fucking dumbass. You dont always wax it because it has dents and dings. Waxing it also cleans it. And second, NOT ALL BOARDS COME PRE WAXED, and some people like to wax it anyways even if it was pre waxed... RETARD

  • wax paper!? damn that is new for me!

  • thing this lad had a dick stuck in his ass and couldnt get it out

  • u fill the scratches with plastic not wax, the wax is to protect the board and help you ride smoother and faster like K3O said

  • wrong!

  • @yanwich it actually does, it protects it from minor scratching and wear and tear on the bottom due to friction. It also prevents it from being damaged when storing it for the summer. Obviously if you run over a patch of rocks your going to scratch the shit out of the bottom though.

  • well i guess you should if it had a stamp or sticker on the base and a little of the sticky debree on the base.

  • The boards are prewaxed at the factory so no need in most cases.

I wax my new boards regardless what the factory does by hot wiping the board maker's wax out (a hot wipe is just a wax job where u scrape immediately after ironing instead of waiting 4 the board to cool down) and putting in the wax I like.

  • NOT TO WAX NEW BOARDS. "nope 'cause already waxed by the maker...retard" YOU ARE FUCKING RETARDED and a smartass asshole...RETARD

  • he didn't even get the wax off the edges.. but i didn't now to use the hard brush first and then the soft brush

    tnxs for the tip

  • he says he doensn't apply the waxing by letting it drip on the board because that way you could damage your base..? he can damage his base to when he went over the board with the iron and bassicly he was doing tesame so it doesn't really matter if you're doing it by dripping or wiping it on.. just dont let your board become to hot.. let it cool down if it's getiing to hot

  • I dont, either. Dripping is stupid 'cause it exposes bare board to the heat up close as the ignorant spaces between the wax drips fill out.

    Only drips drip.

  • you can uese baking paper :)

  • wax paper?

  • how do you know when to stop taking wax away?

  • when it stops comming off

  • What is the special waxing paper he used, i would really like to know.

  • it's actualy a bit more like a paper towel

I have a box of ones used for skis(kunzmann)

  • What's the brand name?

  • kunzmann?

    or fk sks

there are a few things on it

realy just feal like an abrasive hand towel you get in a bathroom just a tad thicker

  • best waxing vid ive seen so far

  • good vid, but how much damage can dripping wax do to a base? I've never heard of this "special wax paper"

  • Koji gets cool points for his lefthandedness, obv.

This was cool to watch. I'm from a warmer climate, so I have no experience at all with winter sport-related stuff.

  • Glad you didn't mix this up with Sunday kitchen! I would probably not like eating wax

  • Very interesting!

Not quite as exciting as a Brazilian Waxing job!

  • Of interest: you pronounce "tail" as I'd pronounce "towel". "Nose" is more similar, but you have the vowel quite differently. Someday, I'll get a web cam, and make these comments more interesting.

  • New zealand accent is a bit like that

  • I don't think it's a Japanese thing. In Russia we do the same thing.

In fact, I think everybody who's more or less into snowboarding is familiar with this technique.

  • In Russia, do you use any vodka in this process?

  • Sure. We'll have a shot or two... You know, to get brave enough to go fighting those bears wandering the streets.

  • That's interesting... maybe it's just Americans and Canadians who do the drip thing. I just watched all the related videos and they were all doing it drip-style.

What's the snowboarding like in Russia?

  • It's still relatively new, but it's sort of subculture already. People make careers out of it.

But I'm not good enough yet to participate in any kind of contests.

So I guess it's no different than in any other country. Except maybe Australia. Kangaroo humping - that's their thing.

  • Yes, yes, yes. It is really exciting especially when you hold the tail. No effort required as the kagaroo does all the hopping without leaving its place!

Beats bears I suppose! Is that a subculture as well?

You russians gone a bit funny since the Stalin days!

  • actualy yeh it's funny

my Girlfriend is Japanese and up untill recently i didn't have my own board so i didn't pay much atention to her waxing tech,

    lol

after i got my board I looked all over the internet to make sure i was going to do it rite on my own board,

she had been leaving a kinda think layer of wax on her board for 3 years and it took this movie to convince her to scrape it propperly.

(more like let me scrape it for her)

    but great Vid
