  • I feel the blood in my veins vibrating <3

  • i wanna play this on my violin <3<3<3<3 !!! next on my to-play-on-violin list :D

  • i love violins. swan lake makes me love them even more.

  • may i know what version is this called? i have a swan lake album, the closet piece to this is titled "No. 5 Pas de deux - Andante - Allegro - Molto - piu mosso" but the part after 3:00 is not in it...

  • do you know where i can find sheet music for this? i ve made many searches on the web but i cannot find a piano-violin version

  • I'm fascinated by this amazing solo played by Abram Shtern! do you have sheet music to this?

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! <3 !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cousin of Isaac

  • @egonsky - I heard from Mr. Shtern that when he first met with Isaac Stern over 50 years ago it was suggested that perhaps they were related but from what I can tell this was found not to be so. From whom did you hear it?

  • @egonsky if one could only count the number old jewish guys names stern/shtern :)

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • His portemento is out of this world

  • Have you noticed that Michel Schwalbé (the soloist in Karajan's version) changes a note in the No.4 of the Swan Lake Suite? Instead of ascending to a high E, he plays the string witout fingering, at the beginning of the più mosso section.

  • Unfortunately, I have not heard that. Is it posted on Youtube?

  • I'm sorry for two reasons: the first one, that I haven't found it on Youtube; & the other one, that the Schwalbé solo which I talked about, is the other solo of the score, not this one (which doesn't appear in the suite). I'll keep looking...

  • beautiful music

  • Imma use this on some hip hop beat. This shit ill

  • there are several CD's released a couple days ago of Abram Shtern when he was young/mid age/old playing all kinds of short pieces, and long pieces :):)

    its qiute breathetaking

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Do you have any more recordings of the younger Abram Shtern?

  • we love abram so much -- it's one of those few people in the world who have a combination of such an incredible talent and a beautiful soul

  • thank you so much for posting this...reminds me of a mix between toscha seidel, henryk szeryng and fritz kreisler :)

  • You're welcome! That's a great combination of great violinists and I'm sure Mr. Shtern will be sincerely flattered!

  • i adore this

  • Am delighted to hear it-I pass all these wonderful responses on to Mr. Shtern. He loves this music of Tchaikovsky and has performed it many times in his illustrious career.

  • But it is really beautiful. I always wanted to be able to dance to this song but ive been told im not frail enough to do ballet. Im a very muscular woman-you know? This gave me the change to dance to it in my own company, and be able to do what ive always wanted.Even though that sounds strange..

    hahah

  • Am especially glad to hear that!

  • Oh gosh this is gorgeous! If you find the sheet music, could you message me as well please?

  • Honestly, I feel the same way about Mr. Shtern's playing...will let you know if I find the music.

  • i love this peace:-)

I cannot remember when i have heard it better!!!!!

  • Mr. Shtern will be quite flattered to hear what you said about his playing. Swan Lake is among his favorite compositions: especially the solos that he performed so many times with the Ballet Orchestra in Kiev where he was Concertmaster for 42 years.(!)

  • this is beautiful. is the sheet music online?

  • Glad you like it-no luck so far looking for sheetmusic online, though...if I find it, I'll send you a message.
