  • They really need to take this on a World Tour. A live DVD and a new album would make this old guy very happy. Still kicking ass! Love live Mott the Hoople

  • They'll be back! :)

  • The last song Mott ever did. Mick Ronson originally played guitar. I've always loved this song. Its sentimental and what Ian does the best: makes you emotional. The end of the greatests underground cult band in history.

  • it is so nice to see mott the hoople play again ( thanks guys )

  • My birthday was on the 7th so desperately wanted to be there but was 7,000 miles away. Thanks for posting this, real lump in the throat stuff. Wish I'd been there.

  • Thanks very much for this one. So many bands manage to spoil their legacy with tacky, opportunistic "reunions" featuring maybe two or three founding members. Mott said goodbye with class.

Any idea why Morgan Fisher and Ariel Bender weren't asked along just for a song or two?

  • @FairBritannia The band was firm that it was to be original members only. Morgan held an exhibit of his photography in London simultaneous with the shows, and many fans went to meet him. He was great about it, though he definitely wanted to be included. He, Blue Weaver and Mick Bolton also gave a performance of ex-MTH keyboardists. Morgan made many friends from all this. Luther, I think, was very upset about not being included and spent the week in his flat. He was not seen at the shows.

  • @tazzie03 Thanks for the mention - Tazzie. I have to say that this was the song that worked worse without my presence!

    Morgan

  • musically, that is - not emotionally

  • I'm from St. Louis MO and there is this kick ass radio station called KSHE. They have been around since 1967. With that being said almost all the under-rated rock bands from the late 60's70's80's90's are called KSHE Classics. These classics are NOT forgotten around here KSHE plays them all the time. Mott is no exception to a Kshe Classic. Check this station out if you do not believe me. They are online. Just do a Search for KSHE 95

  • did you catch what Pete said when Ian says Pete's still thinking about....?

  • It was actually Verden's aside as Pete appears to not have heard any of it.. I think he says, 'It bloody worked out okay'. But then again he's Welsh, so it's anybody's guess!

  • Went on the 1st , 2nd and last night..(front row!!)...Still can't watch this without moist eyes... 2009 belonged to Mott...

  • the best

  • I must have been a couple of rows behind you. Came in from New York to see them. Quite a show...Still the best!!!

  • Thanks Ofifoto. Just been re-living it all again. I was there 2nd night and last night. Great vids and great sound. The best I've seen on here. The trouble is, every gig I've been to since has seemed tame by comparison. Long live Mott! "Thanks for great trip"

  • Thanks for posting this - my wife and I were in the circle the same night, and it was a truly magical experience to see "the mott" together again. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy the experience all over again...

    Oh, and: "Goodbye... Goodbye" ;-)

  • Damn fine song, damn fine band and damn fine night!

  • I agree with damikey1 and scottyek, pay up!

  • Oh god that brought me right back. Was right up front, leaning on the stage, waving goodbye and praying it wouldn't be goodbye. Hopes for more shows so we can continue the great trip.

  • thatsripping still owes for the tickets for the 5 nights, must be tears of shame....

  • Comment removed

  • thanks beyond words for this ofifoto -- your stuff is the best anyone got... I think the third night ending was the best as everyone clapped in unison and the 'goodbye' went on a good five minutes after the band left, and yes there were tears. Best week I've had in ages although I think everyone was just about spent by the last night. Unforgetable and thanks again, I must have been about 5 rows behind you so it's amazing to see it from this point of view. you're a dude, man.

  • Must've been a lot of wet eyes toward the end.

  • THAT WAS AMAZING !!!!!!!

i hope they come to Australia.... (but why would they) :(

  • I was there in the second row...We just waved them off sans Buffin

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Oh man...This was so moving. When they disappeared singing 'good-bye' it was almost ghostly.

  • 泣けた!

  • Thankyou so much for this I couldnt be there but now it feels fantastic to see and hear this love it cheers Mike
