  • It was really stupid move to put the ending to the poster of the movie. If someone asks how does the film end, just say "look at the poster of the film. There's your answer."

  • REC and REC 2 are actually really good when taken on their own premis.

I would never see Quarantine as remakes usually suck ass with only a handfull of execptions.

I can highly recommend REC and REC 2 if you like "zombie" movies with a twist. High entertainment value! :)

  • I was originally going to see this in theaters because of Jennifer Carpenter from Dexter. But I never got around to seeing it and forgot about it. Now i'm glad I never did why am I not surprised with how Spoony described it. It's as if the studio never learns it's lesson with this shit at all. First remakes, then 3D,then p.o.v,and now found footage which again is failing fast. They only go for easy cash ins until they flop why don't they use their brains to think up original ideas?

  • This guy is so funny

  • sponsored by coca cola

  • But...their not zombies.............

  • @Glazeman11 - If they're still standing under circumstances when they shouldn't be and they try to bite you, they are, for all intents and purposes, zombies. By your standards, Resident Evil and Left4Dead are probably classified as 'epidemic simulators'. Rock on with that.

  • I think this movie, like many others, takes place in a universe where there is no zombie subculture. No books, no movies, no video games.

  • I didn't think REC was bad, I liked it for entertainment purposes anyway. I'm slightly biased though as it was the only not-terrible horror film that I'd seen in a while. At least the first not-terrible NEW film that I'd seen in some time. Re-watching hammer horror and John Carpenter's Halloween don't count :L still funny video though.

  • He thinks part one is horrible, wait to he sees part two.

  • By your talking about this movie...Left 4 Dead is even more realistic. XD

  • Zombie no, infected yes. There is A huge difference between the two

  • @MajorLavender That's what I tried to explain to someone on here but he didn't get it.

  • I wanna know what happens with the grandma and how she gets the fireman.

  • I know it's a horror movie, everyone panics and all that. But when things are looking like you're going to be fighting off infected people, no one things of getting the cops gun? Or at least try to get it before he turns into a rabid freak.

  • @iFinalVendetta Well, REC is ripping off Blair Witch, which ripped off another POV movie that came out before Blair Witch.

  • @scottieman2 The movie that Blair Witch ripped off was Peeping Tom.

  • Fuck THAT shit!

PUT 2 IN HER 10 SPOT!

  • I really liked the movie... I thought it was good. It does get me pissed off that the characters are retarded to not piece together that they are zombies...

  • Spoony your a fag. You hate remake movies like Quarantine yet you praise bullshit Uwe Boll movies. Youre a hypocrite!

  • Isn't the not using a Z word kinda the running joke of a lot of zombie movies? They often refer to them as fleshes, stenches, corpses, ghouls, whatever.

  • @iFinalVendetta didnt canibal holocost in the 70s do tat??

  • spoony kicks ass!

  • Y'know, the poster thing I can sorta forgive. Movie posters are always pretty unreliable as to the actual content of a film, they're more about grabbing attention. Remember the early posters and such for king kong in 1933? He's taller than the empire state building by about ten times, with a godzilla sized fay wray in his hand. Nevertheless, its a point fairly made. As for trailers, that I can understand. Movie trailers are getting worse and worse as to the amount of content they show of a film.

  • @Blisterdude123 - I just like saying Fay Wray. Best. Name. EVER.

  • @LazyMan9000 I know right? Has a sorta ZING to it!

  • @Blisterdude123 Posters are okay because it's more of a still or just a random shot from the movie. Showing her on the ground doesn't mean it was the ending. Could be the middle. And the trailers I do agree with you. It's just every year it's getting to the point of where it basically tells the story of the movie. Why pay 20 bucks to see the movie when you could watch it 10th of the length and hell of a lot cheaper.

  • Even though it is an American remake, and we all know what happens when we Americans remake foreign films, I still like the movie.

  • {REC} was the shit Quarantine sucked jaja and your reviews my friend are the shit :D

  • [REC] and Quarintine are both horrible movies.

  • ZOMBIE GET HIM!?!?! I MEAN RUUNNN!!!!

  • I noticed Spoony burps in almost all of his vlogs and other unedited rants. He is doing it so frequent that I think he is doing it on purpose. I kind of like it though. I guess I have this weird fetish for someone burping.

  • I believe the cameras pros use are 44mm cameras,

  • I think this is one of my favorite reviews of his.

Maybe because I know what he's actually talking about.

  • This was the first Spoony review I ever saw. And I had no idea that this was The Spoony one until revisiting it today. The review is as great as I remembered

  • Quarantine scared the crap out of me. I thought it was really realistic and the best horror movie lately. WAY better than Paranormal Activity.

  • @TubaHero17 The seen where the guy beats a zombie to death with a camera lens is realistic?

  • @Bo0nddOcK Well, I thought it was at the time. Now I look back and find it entertaining, but kind of dumb. That's how horror movies work with me. It psychs me out, then I laugh about it. It's a cycle.

  • rec is the best horror movie i've ever seen

    the 2nd is paranormal activity

  • You should review the sequel XD

  • "So... -burb-.. as soon...."

  • HE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE GO GO

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • spoonyone is not only smart but funny as fuck!!!

  • I agree with you, i didnt like Quarantine

  • Imagine if the footage was live (I haven't seen the movie). Just watching it and all this showing up on your screen. They've probably ruined so many peoples lives...beyond the people who watched the move do to motion sickness :P

  • My fav part is where the one zomboe gets loose somehow kills 3!!!! Government people with assault rifles and there are two people standing right next to a FULL AUTO ASSULT RIFLE!!!! and they run away like wtf!!!!

  • @CZshooter14 That was what I was saying, there's a full fucking infantry platoon outside, and you send in two scientists without ANY weapons? Not even a pistol, or a military escort inside... There's no way they'd fucking do that. I'd be like "Ok, get me a squad (12 soldiers) and let's go kick ass." And yeah, not even the two guys with assault rifles next to he door... lol.

  • I just saw the movie on youtube, just to see if what spoony said was true. If all true. If you don't beleive him, beleive me, this movie is STUPID! there was only like 1 good part and that was like an hour into the movie when the rest of the survivors just say "FUCK THIS NOISE" and start going for the highest point in the building. THAT'S IT! fuck this movie... started off great but didn't take long to insult our intelligance...

  • I don't know why but I laugh so hard when he says "a zombie trying to chew your nose off".

  • i feel your pain spoonyone

when i was watching that johnny depp "most wanted" or whatever (around 2009) they did that whole lets use a shitty vhs camera to shoot this film and shke the shit out of it during a firefight

by the end of the movie i was just fuckin waiting for MR. Depp to die so i could leave

  • This is my dozenth time of watching this review. So funny.

  • 2:22 Best 28 Days later description. EVER!

  • you seem so fancy cuz your hairs pushed to the side and your drinking a coke!

  • the movie was good. You just happen to not like the pov shot technique in movies.

  • @LoboFan1000 Not really, he has his reasons why he didn't like the Movie if you listen to the whole Review! It's not just because of P.O.V.; He didn't like it because of the fact the Trailer Gave the ending away, (As well as the Poster) The fact that it was somewhat of a rip-off of quite a few movies and many other reasons! It's only his opinion and you don't have to take it seriously, if you don't want to!

  • Fuck that shit! Put two in his ten-spot!!!

  • I liked that movie.

  • How many rage zombie outbreaks has Spoony been witnessed. "Zed word?" When did Spoony become British?

  • @scxcr i agree with u on some of titles. but most zombie movies are low budgets and are hard to watch due to its poor quality and set up. haha sorry for calling u a douche i was a little mean back then =)

  • ZOOOOmmmmBbbbbbIIIIIeeee GET HIM XD LoL

  • No wonder he's such a squeaky-voiced spaz, he sucks cola like Doug Walker's dick.

  • @StrayThinker ......What?

  • @WSXnTNA4Life They don't get out and in reality would you risk facing a massive horde of zombies and government soldiers and losing your life just to attempt to inform people what happened

  • @WSXnTNA4Life Is evidence worth dying for?

  • The only movies that I know of uses the word 'zombie' are Shaun of the Dead, and Zombieland. But I like in Shaun of the Dead, everytime Ed says "zombie" he gets yelled at for saying it.

  • @WSXnTNA4Life Just like what spoony said, there's getting evidence with the camera, or having your hands free to fend off a raging zombie who wants to rape you! I think I would toss my camera at the zombies and find a sharp weapon to cut of their damn heads!

  • the movie this is based oncame out before cloverfield :3

  • REC was soooooo much better.

  • lol @ him burping...excuse yourself Spoony XD

  • no there r-virus zombies r meaning rabies

  • After seeing Phelous' review on Quarantine, I can see why this movie flat out sucks.

  • i saw quuarantie and i agree with you, it sucks ass. i havent see REC.

  • I don't mind POV films as long as it's directed well and the progress of the movie is crafted consistently so it doesn't look forced and obvious. What I don't like are movies like this that make the POV genre of films look like shit. REC is much better imo. Funny ass review so far and your hitting the nail on the head lol.

  • They are not dead. They are still alive. They are just like that because of a super virus. They are not the undead like they lead you to believe. It's the same kind of thing that 28 Days Later has a problem with. Both are just super-viruses not the undead.

  • They're not true Zombies. They are the living dead. Not the undead zombies he means.

  • I love you spoony I went to your website you rock.

  • Quarantine is just a new Blair Witch. People love picking things apart. Its their way of interactivity. Its easier to pick out flaws. I hope you have a Spoony vid on Scott Pilgrim :-) Or maybe Endgame with Kurt Angle & Jenna Morasca.

  • no mean to hate but theyre not zombie they just have super rabies

  • @ssraper300 Thank you. Glad someone else says the same as I do. I don't know why people keep confused people with super viruses with zombies.

  • I like it when he does these type of styled reviews the most, especially when they're of bad movies. I mean yeah, he implements comedy into it, but he just tells you straight out.

I like the fact that you could watch (and I have) an hour review of him just sitting there and telling you about the movie, and you can listen. Some may like the more "Nostalgia Criticish" type of reviewing with the comedy and clips from the movie, but I really like this basic style Spoony does. So entertaining.

  • @Carnage1235 Hm...I actually like both formats (Spoonys and Critics.) Though I have to say I like this version better, since it seems more informative and...I guess 'personal'.

  • @Carnage1235 LOL And he gets so into telling you what it's about, too. And how stupid the it is.

  • @Carnage1235 He's entertaining. Plus, I've seen this movie and I have the same questions/complaints about the movie. Like the part where the old lady "cobra" clutches the fireman.

  • @Carnage1235 Nostalgia Critic is for entertainment for me, Spoony is both entertainment and informational for me :3

  • I hat you spoony, but everyone has there own opinion.

  • @harrymcfly56 I think you mean hate but agree you have your opnion and he has his.

  • @Nickman007z Case and point: you type like you're drunk.

  • after watching this it is still funny as shit

  • PILLS BOY.........

  • 3 Reasons I didn't like this movie

    1. It's not just the Z-word- they could've called them anything you fancy- it's that they still didn't understand what was going on. I get that they're supposed to be scared silly, but that NONE of them figure out WTF is happening? Really?

    2. The most interesting part is those last 30 seconds. There's not much to the movie beyond that. The plot description should just be "everyone dies, roll credits."

    3. My dad's a firefighter. They're nothing like this.

  • Also I would have so carried the camera all the way, if I survive it'll be the best piece of footage ever and I'll be swimming in loads of money.

  • @Darmani421 also a heavy camera would make a good club

  • Rec was better.

  • Any piece of fiction based on a gimmick, and nothing but a gimmick, is going to suck royally. That's what this movie is, and what Cloverfield is, and Lost is, actually.Total pieces of shit across the board. Now, a gimmick is not a trope, it is a gimmick, and if anyone doesn't know the difference, LOOK IT UP, ok?Alright.

  • that woman was a fucking Bitch, but at least that firefighter kicked ass

  • Its suppose to make us feel like we are one of them and the cameraman never film himself in his face. Thats why.

  • if i was the camera man i would be like "fuck the camera" and then throw it at a zombie

  • The Spanish one is good, but I completely agree with you about the American. And BTW, I don't see the point of making a movie so little time after...

  • "THEY ALL GET DRAGGED INTO THE DARKNESS AND DIE." *drinks coke*

  • @CommieComrade179 That pretty much sums up the entire movie!

  • @CommieComrade179 Haha, that gets me everytime. xD

  • Thumbs up if yo like belching reviews.

  • ok i agree with most of what you say but seriously though....what movie uses the word ZOMBIE.i dont ever remember a movie that openly uses the term zombie, they might now how you kill them or what they do but thats cus they have been studies or something but they never use that word at first sight of one.

  • @GangstersGreed zombieland is the only movie ive ever seen them say "zombie"

  • I'm with Spoony; Hell, it's the new "Shot on Shitteo!"

  • I would fight godzilla lol..

  • Rec wasn't very good either, but at least Quarantine had the lovely Jennifer Carpenter.

  • He should get his own review show on TV.

  • he looks drunk i saw quarantine i liked it but theirs always gonna be annoying douches

  • i wish CDC would have shot the camera right in the beggining of the fucking movie

it would save all the viewers the time of their lifes (and the money) they wasted on watching the movie...

  • @Chacronus REC sucked too, though. I mean, no, it just wasn't really any good. But then, Blair Witch wasn't any good. PoV Horror is TERRIBLE.

  • Quarantine was an entertaining film. I enjoyed it.

  • i dunno about u guys but that movie was realistoc scary as hell so fuck off all haters.

  • Reallythey're not zombies. They are infected. Infected are people infected with some virus. Zombies are dead people and eat you.

  • @scottieman2 Don't see much difference honestly! XD Don't want to be neatr any of the two.

  • @DeathNoteMaker I hear that. The difference is that zombies are actually a dead person. Infected are infected with some kind of virus. Like in 28 Days Later.

  • @scottieman2 the term "zombie" is complex, here are the living and dead zombies (by the way, the 1st zombies were both living AND dead, and were under mind-control)

living: living zombies are animals (that includes humans) that are still living, but have lost free will and have been reduced to a slave of somthing (ex. rage/infected zombies- zombies that have been infected with some sort of pathogen that causes them to have 2 instincts: spead the virus and eat flesh.)

    dead for next comment

  • @mistafail okay you know its just a movie really and you have your opinion i have mine on what they are.

  • @scottieman2

dead zombie: a reanimated corpse with flesh that either has tofallow orders or gets a craving for flesh

  • @mistafail just a movie i have my opinion on zombies and you have yours.

  • lol cloverfield didnt have zombies trying to bite ur head off they just had parasites that bite you and then ur head pops off

  • i saw this movie at a friends house at like 1 in the morning and all I could think of was how fukin retarded it was

  • Quarantine and REC were both amazing.

  • I liked Quarantine, but this was Freak'n FUNNY!

  • I"ma chew your nose of! *NOM NOM NOM NOM*

  • He should review the 2 Guyver Movies.

  • are all his reviews like this or are there different style ones

  • @scarecrowskardagain with him kind of loosely ranting at a camera? yeah, but they are all really good. there's a reason this guy was a professional critic specializing in horror movies. :)

  • i'll give it to you, Spoony. "Quarantine" wasn't the BEST horror film. But, if you compare it to the shittiest shockumentary movies that have been coming out (Paranormal FUCKtivity), this, to me, is definitely a breath of fresh air. I personally loved this movie. It's not my favorite, but it was fun to see in theatres. Granted, the movie relies heavily on jump scares, but it was enjoyable with surround sound. I'll take rabies over ghosts any day. God, Paranormal Activity pissed me off...

  • @dustinisbored247 just because one movie is good compared to another movie, dosent make it a good movie.

  • @LordManda2 I'm not saying that it was a good movie because I didn't like Paranormal Activity. I'm responding to Spoony's opinion (his disapproval of the documentary horror films that are coming out lately) with my own opinion. I personally hated Paranormal Activity because it was so hyped to be a terrifying movie and I laughed the entire time. I wouldn't compare Quarantine to other zombie movies like 28 Days Later though. I'm just saying I actually enjoyed it.

  • @dustinisbored247 28 days later and quarentine arent zombie movies.

  • @lotsofglitter - Oh, shit, here we go, another Romero-professor. Listen, no one gives a fuck whether TECHNICALLY they're zombies or not, if they have a bunch of emotionless bleeding corpses walking/running around eating/attacking people, it's a zombie movie, okay? Now take that Encyclopedia of Carnivores in Popular Culture BACK to your basement where it belongs.

  • @Suckfest83 *standing ovation*

  • @dustinisbored247 - Sorry, but someone had to say it. There's being anal, and then there's just trolling. Obvious troll is obvious.

  • "He's not well....He needs to be sedated!

FUCK that, put two in his ten spot."

A Zombie killing t shirt if I ever heard one, and one I'll wear if the compound fracture-psycho-"sick guy" starts shambling towards /me/.

  • We've gotta get out of here!!! WHOA!! WHOA!!! WHOA!!!

  • Looks like Doc Brown if he went real feral. "Marty, brains."

  • i agree y the hell would u keep recording and hold a heavy ass camera when ur about to be fucking eaten alive by zombies

  • at first when you got the vetenarian part i thought u said RAPE VIRUS

  • dude they just run around screaming and geting dragged off its stupid i thought it was not that bad but i would like for them to not use the camera to like show whats happening

  • I don't see why your acting like it was so horrible. I thought it was a good movie. Sure it wasn't the best movie. No movie can be the best movie, but I don't think it was an "abomination" I watched parts of [REC.] and, personally, I think this is wayyyyyyyyyyy better.

  • @TotalDFAN Well thats you not him so fuck off

  • @blackmanorigins Well, that was a little unecassary, dude. He was was just saying it was sooooooooooooooooo bad. It wasn't that bad. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. That's all I'm saying, man.

  • I thought this would be about that game from the mid 90ies. Quarantine was like Doom in a driver's seat. I never even saw moving footage of it..

  • @schtolteheim It deserves a review. Fantastically hilarious FMV opening, absolutely mediocre gameplay.

  • @VanceHill

Actually, a better was to describe Quarantine the PC game is Doom and Crazy Taxi mixed together in a blender!

  • Spoonyone, for my birthday I would love for you to review conflict denied ops.....

  • Worst inaccurate review ever.

  • @evilaj2010 Why you say that?

  • I did a review on that movie, its great :)

  • watch REC!!!! it´s the original film!!!!! ARE SOME THINGS CALLED SUBTITLES!!!!!

  • this is so funny

  • I agree with the camera. Why would they hold it? I think it would have been more effective if they had placed the camera on a table or floor or something and left it there. That way we don't see anything and are kept in the dark. Because when you carry the camera all over the place and let us see everything, it basically kills the point of having a POV camera in the first place.

  • @cb52211 Then wouldn't be much of a movie if they drop the camera.

  • @scottieman2 But it would have made more sense. The purpose of a POV camera is to keep the audience in suspense. Like in Blair Witch. We never see the witch, we just see what the characters showed us. If they left the camera somewhere, we could hear everything that's going on, but be constantly confused since we'd never understand what's exactly going on. Sure it would be visually boring, but I think it would have been more interesting.

  • @cb52211 I just had a thought, they could have gone between POV and regular film. I mean, when they are not filming or when an action scene is they switch to being a regular film and when filming be a POV.

  • @scottieman2 Yeah, but that's as realistic as carrying around a big ass boulder chained to your leg as you run from hungry Wolves... 'cause the movie's called "Running Rock, Hungry Wolves".

  • @SakuraAvalon Oh well. I don't really have a problem with the movie in general.

  • @cb52211 Or maybe it would switch between normal camera work with the POV camera, like the beginning and end are in POV, but most of the movie it's in third person.

  • i remember getting nauseous watching Cloverfield. Main reason I didn't go & see Quarantine.

POV movies need to die. >_<

  • i dont know why but i really liked quarantine

  • @JocaBrate94 Right, POV's are actually more realistic than normal movies. It makes you feel like your the guy with the camera.

  • @raulrolon7 Are they fuck it gave me motion sickness and it combine with bad acting and a boring story, realistic or not it sucks ball as well as the genre

  • My3or8racing loves dr. insano. Wheres insano

  • Any zombie movies after 28 Days Later can be called a "rip-off" (as I could say The Matrix is a rip-off of other 200 places, including Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys). Cloverfield was released one whole year after REC (the directors were in terms since 2002, but was done and finished on 2007).

I like the review, Quarantine sucked. But I won't go as far as lowering REC because "It's a rip-off", like there's something "original" these days.

  • @IceVallejo

    Nowadays everything is a remake.

  • @scottieman2 Agreed.
