  • SO that thats how earthquakes are made!!!

  • When the chopper's a-rockin', don't come a-knockin'!

  • Does the description bar mean anything to you dumbasses whining about taxes? If any thing this saved money since they diden't have to buy another one to do this test on instead of just turning this one into scrap metal.

  • @englandforeverist

    No, It probably wasn't.

  • the Earth was too heavy

  • Nice toy, why do we pay taxes for again ?

  • @Alexvideoclip because u have to :P

  • in soviet union russia, helicopter destroys you!

  • what happens when helicopters drink...

  • That'll buff right out!

  • Oh yeah, shake that ass and let me see what you got.

  • lol shake it like a salt shaker! xD

  • im glad to see what Tax money is going to :D

  • @Bmxerlmao5288

It's going to the hundreds of thousands of convicted criminals that will live the rest of their lives for FREE in prison.

  • nothing a hammer and some duct tape cant fix!

  • ha ha the aussie shut down his account, coward

  • what the fuck..

  • check the oil, it should be fine for tomorrows flight

  • This is what happens when a Chinook becomes to horny.

  • is the test bed alright ?

  • Lol, did it died?

  • can it still fly??

  • looks like my momma's tits and twats a-shakin!

  • Lol looks pretty funny ahhaaa :)

  • It looks awfully distressed. :(

  • so when you want to land and power off how do you stop ground resonance?

  • The Chinook loves to boogie. Ya man. shake that bootie!!

  • @itsmonti1 He brought down the roof.

  • Never come a knocking , when the Chinook iz a rockin.

  • wow. watching get destroyed was scary

  • I'll take it!

  • If this bird's a-rockin', then dont come a-knockin'

  • I CAN BREAK THEESE CUFFS!

  • FAKE

  • @shiyboy4 how is it fake ? you just watched it fall apart !

  • @MrBillabongboy95 why the hell would u tie down a perfectly good chinhook turn it on and watch it fall apart those things cost money and alot of it, not money u spend to watch it fall apart and put it on youtube so id say its fake

  • @shiyboy4 You are an idiot.

  • @yourfaceisuglyful fuk u kunt

  • why

  • damn there goes the no claims bonus

  • outsourced chopperPOS made in CHINA

  • im suprized it didnt break free.

  • Wow, now that's what I call catastrophic failure lol.

  • Helicopter pilot from Viet Nam era told me once that a helicopter is the only aircraft that can destroy itself.

  • yeah this helicopter is ready for iraq xP

  • well there's your problem!

  • aw i was hoping it would rise, then be yanked down and crash

  • Surely they could have tested this some other way and saved a wealth of spare parts......

  • made in china!!!helicopter that only flys 1in over ground and breaks down in 10 secounds

  • Bring on the new SAR! - Not. Private contractors; what a joke it is becoming.

  • you dont need that

  • looks safe to me...

  • That is a resonance test..

  • The U.S.A military is the best! Skopmy im tyłki!

  • whats up with all the aussies hatein on us... just like whites hatein on blacks whites are just jealous cause black got a big dick and aussies are jealous cause we got all the tech and fine ass women

  • motha fucka shot down my pave low

  • @iAmFuzzyDice LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol a suck pilot

  • CH-47 Chinook is made by Boeing...not Sikorsky

  • looks like dancing.. bad army.. =)

  • it hust wanna fly :(

  • Igor turned over in his grave

  • so if everything was proper on the helicopter it wouldnt shake when tied to the ground?

  • @skanN86 right. There was something seriously wrong with this one.

  • If there is one thing I can't stand it's people mislabeling videos.....F@ing retards

  • that was a helifail.

  • could make a milkshake with this helicopter

  • teh rape chopper

  • Well, they proved a Chinook couldn't lift the earth. Another well spent government budget.

  • @01ps lmao

  • @01ps haha pure genius :P

  • is it me or does that helicopter look a little small for somebody to fly in...

  • the Chinook is large enough to hold about 30 people

  • Actually the Chinook is a rather large helicopter

  • It only had 2 days til retirement :o

  • this once happened to me with a washing machine. very expensive

  • When the chinook loses control, call the morgue, not an ambulance.

  • its not a screw up it called quality control test man not trying to be confrontational they do this to make sure they dont crap out at 5000ft and kill soldiers including Aussies..yall just bought another 7 of these things in April!!

  • As an FYI this helicopter had some sort of major malfunction which landed it as a testbed for ground resonance, meaning it was OK to destroy it in the name of science.

You know, so those 7 Chinooks you purchased in April don't have the same problem.

  • @kcimb good one, well if he doesn't like it why don't they make their own helicopters, doubt that they could make one better than what the us sells.

  • @kcimb Guy got pwned.

  • @kcimb But it was probably some bored soldiers that did it in the name of fun!

  • Too bad Australia is as fucked up as the rest of the world, it might as well be a European country. USA rules and you're just jealous because you cant afford to move here

  • @Mangobrock

what medication are you presently taking?

  • nothing, i know the USA has problems, but as long as you stay out of california, its actually really nice

  • why California? just asking because of curiousity

  • Probably meth.

  • just playing devils advocate here as i would hate to live in either of your countries, but its ten times harder for you to emmigrate to australia than it would the other way round, also australia tops the bill in the countries least affected by the resession, so i doubt hes jealous at all im afraid

  • sucks that australia is censoring what your allowed to watch on the internet huh? LOL

  • @Icouldntgetmyusrname i would rather have my tax money going to tied down helicopters then the corrupted officials pockets

  • @Icouldntgetmyusrname That is why it says TIED DOWN helicopter...

  • reposting fail.

  • It's a ROFLcopter.

  • This was a controlled study by the military on the effects of ground resonance.

  • I feel sorry for the poor sod who has to pay for the repairs.

  • that seemed fucking dangerous haha

  • LOL it looks like a frog humpin a bord till it fals apart

  • wtf???

  • damm

  • nice! i have to wonder why on earth they would do that...such a nice helicopter!

  • because its fuckin' cool, lol.

  • Has anyone thought of a net missile? Shoot it and it explodes into a supper strong net. That will stop em. lol

  • Hahahaha that was really funny!!

  • and every time someone like you writes this I wonder what must be wrong with them that they find it funny when something gets destroyed or someone gets hurt. Very disturbing kind of humor

  • This was when they were still testing the Chinook before it was put into service. They were testing the strength of the frame and body.

  • woha wat a huge toy..i think that was fun..

  • Shake that booty!

  • you with all your clever answers are wrong its obvious a helicopter spaz attack

  • Its called ground resonace. The procedure if it starts is to lift off.

  • Wow lol

  • if i was the pilot id jump out and run away into a bathroom then come out a min later acting like nothin happened

  • this is a demonstration of tying down a bird,..oohhh bird means the helo,..i am a us navy working on the flight deck,..basically they are trying to prove that if you tie down a bird tight enough it will shake and break into pieces.thats called ground resonance,..so the correct way of tying it down to the deck is loose,..

  • bonton85

how you tie it down has nothing to do with ground resonance ground resonance happens only with wheeled aircraft because of the shocks and the vibration of th aircraft

  • It happens with either.. Wheels or Skids same affect.

  • no yamaha it only happens with wheeled helos because of the shocks which are not on helos with skids i fly helicopters, i know what im talking about

  • @YamahaRick Impossible to have ground resonance with a skid helo. They are not articulated rotors and have no shock absorber system needed to release the vibrations.

When tight high point tie downs are on the helo, the shocks are prevented from working which is what starts the resonance.

  • @bapabob and Wendigo127, You fly helicopters and never heard of the Schweizer helicopter company??? All of their models are fully articulated helicopters with skid type landing gear??? I FWY HeliCHoppersss. retards.

  • @dimebox23 Schweizer is part of Sikorsky. They bought them out earlier this year. Also, they are not true skid landing gear as the "skids" are mounted using a shock absorbing system. That aircraft could experience resonance. Calling someone a retard is very childish of you. What are you like 12 years old?

  • @bapabob i like your maturity level, above most of the people on here, lol

  • @bapabob, then what would you call a Hughes/Schweizer/Sikorsky (whatever, not the point I was making) 369c-1's landing gear? not wheeled, not skid type, then what? Sikorsky/Schweizer wasn't my problem with your comment, the fact that you said you couldn't have ground resonance in a helicopter with skids.

  • @dimebox23 DB, not sure what you would call the landing gear on a helo that wasn't a skid nor wheels? You got me on that one since I have never seen it. I stand by my statement that a true skid helo cannot enter ground resonance. It is just impossible. You have to have an articulated rotor head for resonance to start and all true skid helos have non-articulated heads. There is no lead/lag on skid helos rotors.

  • Comment removed

  • @Wendigo127 Not true. How you tie down the helo makes all the difference in the world. Any tie down attached above the shock mount will restrict it from working and lead to ground resonance. A failed shock strut can also cause resonance.

  • @bapaboba helicopter doesnt need to be tied down to have ground resonance

  • @Wendigo127 I know that. I also mentioned that a failed strut can cause it. Also flat tires could cause it. Ground taxi over rough terrain can cause it too but without tie downs the pilot simply has to lift off to stop all resonance.

  • jesus! you lot make me feel so very freakin clever, keep it up. There has only been one or two that has it right albeit they don't really know why they have it right, which is just as bad as getting it wrong. cheers you've all made my day.

  • if this was a xmsn failure. why are the blades stii turning? if the xmsn seizes due to lack of oil then the blades will instantly stop. i am also a helo mech/cc and this was not a gear box failure the blades were still turning after the "failure". this is a severe track and balance issue. and a helo with as much power as a 47 will tear itself apart.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow Everyone do their research. This CH-47 was a rest of the combining Transmission. When it fails that is what happens. I was a 68D /15D (Army powertrain mechanic). Now I am a 15T (Blackhawk Mechanic/Crewchief). This has nothing to do with the blades it is a combining transmission failure. They actually drained the oil out of it for a combat survivability test.

  • they tired down the bird to conduct power assurance test to make sure the helo can safely fly and land with only one eng. under normal operation and with cerrtain amounts of cargo. the helo was shaking because one or both main rotors were out of track and balance . you CANNOT correct the problem by lifting off you must add weight to the blades adjust sweep and increase or decrease blade pitch via the pitch change links. all of this info is givin to the operator on computer test gear.

  • nice video of a video JACKASS...

  • why did it start to shake like that can someone tell me lol unless a blade flew off it and it doesnt show in the video..

  • As far as I recall, only 3 bladed rotor systems are susceptible to this phenomena. Amazing video though, the only corrective action is to LIFT OFF immediately, even momentarily. But if you are tied down like this bird, GOOD-BYE!!!

  • why? lol

  • in b4 all the comments criticizing our military ?

  • Blade Resonance Test.

  • looks like it was made over here in the uk.

  • some duct tape will fix it better than new.

  • A bit of glue here, a bit of paint there, no-one will know the differance!

  • they were testing it to see how it would cope when one of the blades was weighted.

  • Wrong, this is to display the concept of ground resonnance, this is what happens when you leave the needle in the yellow arc. Dont fucking do it, alright?.

  • you sounded intelligent until you swore, congratulations.

  • how does cussing make u sound stupid...?

  • yee har !!!

  • um what was this for? watching it shake itself apart?

  • lol we pay taxes for this???

  • You pay taxes for that so your people don't die.

  • LOL holy shit cant wait to see the piolets face when they find the black box on that one :D

  • Considering that the aircraft was tied down and had a camera on it, this was probably a "stress until destruction" or "test to failure". Basically you run it until it breaks or see how far out of tolerance the system can go before it breaks. Good thing to know if you are a flight engineer, the aircraft has battle damage, and pilot wants to know if it will make to back to base or crash land.

  • what the fuck lol

  • holy shit

  • My tax dollars at work. Awesome.

  • Holy shit!

  • wow that was cool :-)

  • isnt that a model? it doesnt shake or break up in the way the real thing would plus that must be a bigass fence in the background....

  • aprently it didnt like bondage and decided 2 end its life....

  • lol, its like it broke down cryin cuz it could get away,

  • As an FYI, there was no pilot in the helicopter. It was deemed unsafe after an accident, so it was decided to use the air frame for tests.

  • Its alive RUN

  • i like noodles

  • i like turtles

  • I like rice

  • i like cake :)

  • You have no idea what this video is actually showing, do you? It's called ground resonance. Get an education and then come back, moron.

  • As an FYI, there was no pilot in the helicopter. It was deemed unsafe after an accident, so it was decided to use the air frame for tests. This is that test.

  • Its not waste of money and its not waste of chopper,it is important to make sure soldiers are safe, the soldiers who brings power to your country and who bring all the right or wrong money to your country as well,at the expense of their lives!!!!!

  • "the soldiers who brings power to your country and who bring all the right or wrong money to your country "

What ARE you blathering about here?

  • clearly there testing the helicopter to see how long it takes to tear itself apart on full power.

  • are you all retarded? since when does anyone tie down an aircraft? is it going to fly away if not tied? ITS NOT A BOAT...

its called ground resonance which is just vibration that gets worse because of the energy waves adding to eachother
