I am an art school student, attending for Creative writing and our assignment this week was a poem with two vioces. This poem was just so great I can hardly find a word for it. I expect to see it published one day :) And the two voices are just great, condradicting each other but still magnificent.
@berlinerdom Thank you for this and your other kind comments. This poem is the first in a series of poems for two parallel voices, called Field Songs. Alas not published yet, but there will be other films from this collection in the near future. I hope you will get to see them too.
@squirereset Thanks for such a generous comment. This poem is part of a series from a collection of poems for two voices, called Field Songs. There will be more postings in the future which I hope you will see.
Just love this poem; It's understated and subtle but with brilliant impact. And the voices really work. So often "technology" can really distract from a poem--get in the way of the words. But you use this technique beautifully and to the enhancement of the poem.
Thank you for your kind consideration of this piece. So glad it struck a chord. There are a number of other two-voice poems from this collection which will see the light of day in due course. I am always delighted when you drop by, good to hear from you.
Just brilliant, brings a tingle. The way you have combined voices, woven lives, built structure with courses of words, is outstanding. An inspiration, thank you.
thats so clever and inspired how you've used two voices to evoke two different time periods for the one house....it brings out the mystery of time..the past..it made me feel very mortal.
Andrew this is wonderful. I want to know more. Have you published this? Your work is transcendent. The concept is keen and the execution magnificent. The two voices separated by 50 years speaking in unison is marvelous. I am (again) inspired by your work.
So kind of you to comment. I am glad you enjoyed this video and music. The composer is Adam Carse (1878-1958) and is the 4th movement of The Winton Suite (1933) Regards
It's brilliant to hear a spoken performance of this poem which I had previously only read Andrew. In reading you can't read the two voices together, as you have here. Your house and grounds look very beautiful in the video. And to have a spring!
Thank you so much, Charles. There may be more renditions of works from that collection. The house had an extreme make over in the summer but the apple is the same! Spent the weekend collecting them and trying our hand, for the first time, to make cider. We'll see.
I love the way you produced this very creative video!
