  • I just made this for the first time, it is very refreshing and has a mild taste that wil complement your main course very well. Thank you for the recipe!! I love it:D

  • i don´t have sesame oil T-T can i replace it by something or just not use it?i really wanna make it

  • @1KoreaLover1

just skip it.. and if you have a chance to get sesame oil.. try it with sesame oil also.. thanks

  • @aeriskitchen

Thanks for your videos! I love how you introduce it for us!

    I have a question!

I wonder how long can this side-dish be kept in the refrigerate? I want to make a lot and then eat them within a week. Would the side-dish go bad? Does this need to be eaten on the day we make them?

Thanks for your help in advance. : )

  • @VC28

mung bean sprouts go bad faster than yellow soy bean sprout... so I will say.. first day ..the taste is the best..and maybe about for 3 days you can enjoy the dish. :)

  • 감사합니다

  • I made it today and it's delicious ! Thank you very much !!

  • Hi Aeri! Your dishes always look so appetizing! I'm gonna have to try making them myself when I get back to my country. Anyway, I was wondering how long could Korean banchans be kept for. Must we finish eating them immediately? Cuz it'll be nice if we could make a batch and eat them for a few days instead right?

  • @wildoetz

it depends on side-dishes.. some side-dishes using fresh vegetables like.. lettuce.. cucumber.. you will eat that day.. but some side-dishes like pickled.. fermented like kimchi.. can be eaten for a long time.. several weeks.. some side-dishes.. like fried dried seasoned squid..they can eat several weeks too.. so it's all depends on what kind of side-dishes you make.. thanks

  • Oh my gosh I'm so cooking this :D it looks soooo good (I love mung bean sprouts) hehe :D thank you for this recipe ^-^

  • thank you for this i love this side dish!! what is it called in korean???

  • I love many of the Korean side dishes! I was glad to find your video on how to make it. After watching this I wanted some so bad I used the last of the sprouts I had in the fridge even though I didn't have green onions. It was still pretty good. I know it will taste even better when I can follow your recipe completely! I have subscribed to you and will watch all your videos. Thank You!

  • @aeriskitchen Yes, I like most of them!

  • I just made this yesterday with your recipe. Very good. I'd tried following the steps in half a dozen cookbooks, but none of them ever turned out right, but this one did. Delicious. Can't wait to try your croaker hotpot next

  • @saprater25

That's real compliment.. hehe thanks :D

  • Thank you!!!

  • what kind of sesame oil do you use?

  • Hi nageek18,

I use Korean brand sesame oil. I will send you a link for it. but you can use any kind of sesame oil .. thanks

  • it's true that boiling bean sprouts with this amount of time will lose a lot of nurition but if u try to put certain amount of salt it will help to bind the nutrition from losing, it works for any vegetable. Thx for sharing the recipe :) i like your videos

  • hi BioIII,

Thanks for sharing good knowledge. :) Have a great week.

  • hi there, thanks for sharing ur recipe! been wanting to learn how to make it since I ate it a few times in Korean restaurants and loved it =)

Question though, can I make a huge bunch then keep them in the fridge? How long can it last?

    Thanks!

  • hi itzmeduhh,

Nice to mee you !! at first.. the sidedish you tried in Korean restaurant was mungbean sprout ?? not yellow bean sprout ?? because usually they serve yellow bean sprout sidedish (kongnamul) anyway.. mung bean sprout becomes bad very quickly... so I don't want you make a hugh bunch of them..then you might have to threw away them before you finish it. thanks ;)

  • After boiling the sprouts how much of the nutrients are retained? I would think that there is not much left health wise.

  • hi, Eyesopend

Yes.. it will lose nutrition. So.. for bean sprout dish (kong namul) which Koreans eat very often, after we boil the bean sprout, leave some of the bean sprout to make the side-dish..and with the left over cooked bean sprout and the broth, we make soup.. thanks !!!

  • this looks REALLY good. its drooling!

  • hi, LuCaRiOfan94

    Haha..it looks that good ? ^^ try it someday..thanks !!!

  • Mmm, I can almost smell it^_^ I haven't eaten sprout since I was little. I can't wait until I try this!!!

  • hi, SimulationBabe

haha,.,,, you can almost smell it ?? ^^cute !!! Yes..try it someday.

    Thanks !!!

  • Hi!

Umm, I would like to ask...

umm,can I use soy sauce as a substitute for sesame oil? and can I just skip or omit sesame seeds? and 1 last question,ehehehe,...umm,can I addsome chili flakes too?

I would like to try it at home..ehehehe...

    take care...

    ^__^

  • Hi, myanime09

Oops.. you don't want substitute soysauce for sesame oil.. because then your food will be too salty.. just skip sesame oil if you don't like it. yep you can skip sesame seeds also.. the taste will be more plain though.. yep.. you can add chili flakes if you like it.. thanks !!!

  • tnx! I'll try it at home...I'm sure my brothers and sister will like it..ehehe:D

    take care!

  • Hi, myanime09

Enjoy ~~~~ with your siblings.. :)

  • lol...I don't have siblings yet...I'm still young..I'm 17 yrs old:D...

  • Hi, myanime09

    oops...lol I got it. hehe..thanks !!!

  • Great set of videos. Thanks for making these dishes appear so simply to make. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. As for your English..... its very good. Your accent only adds to the narration of the video. The subtitles of the ingredients is an addition to well laid out recipe on "more info" tab. I have once eaten a vegetable side dish called "bracken fern".... do you have a recipe for this? Many thanks.

  • Hi, masiagefals

aha.. braken fern side-dish.. we call that gosari..

Yes.. I will try to post it someday. :) Thank you very much for your kind comment !!!

  • Hello! I love your video and I plan to make this dish soon. I could totally understand every thing you said and you are doing great...keep up the good work. Your English is just fine and I appreciate your video! thanks! :0) Nina

  • Hi, redfootwalking

oh.. for your in laws..that's a sweet idea..

I hope they will like it too. thanks !!!

  • your english is just fine and i can totally understand you! i also think your accent is so cute =) thanks for making such great food, i made the galbi and spicy pork today. turned out great! thank you!

  • Hi, LanaPotato

Oh.. thank you ~~~~ happy to hear that you liked galbi and spicy pork...hehe..

  • woo hoo! i think your english is fine! i can understand =] i love ur videos

  • 2dulcecandydc:

maybe it's advisable to start improving your english then? I'm not a native speaker, but i do understand everything the girl says just well.

  • i no understand ur english :( please...why not make subtitles in ur videos?? pleaseeee subtitles with time..with ingredientes..and all pleaseee

  • hI, dulcecandydc

Oh~~ I'm sorry that you can't understand my English. I don't know if you noticed .. when I started to make videos, I used subtitles without speaking..actually it's much easier to make videos that way..but I realized it's better for people to listen the instruction than read sentences, but I can understand you..my English is not that great.. oops.

  • Continue...

My suggestion is..if you don't mind..please visit my blog, that has all the recipes from this video and ingredients explanaiton. I sent you the address. ^^ thanks !!

  • Great video~~

This is my second favorite side dish, I'll definitely be making this soon.

  • do you serve this chilled or room temp ?? thank you

  • Hi, mmdghr

I serve it right after I make it. You can keep the left over in the refrigerator. It goes bad faster than yellow bean sprouts, so it's best to eat this in 1 or 2 days. Thank you !!!

  • awesome im gonna make this today thank you !!

  • Perfect Aeris_ ! Always looks really good!

  • Hey..kooktocook

thanks for comment ~~~!! Happy Holidays !!:D

  • Hi Aeri!

Does this recipe traditionally have soy sauce in it? I used another recipe that had soy sauce in it before and it was too salty. I'll try your way, it looks promising. Less water too.

By the way I like that you pronounce the names of the dishes out loud :D

  • Hi, yossiepie

oh.. I think.. It can be different depending on different areas in Korea.. but what I know about that side-dish..we usually don't add soy sauce.. hehe just use salt for salty flavor. Yes,, try it and let me know..thanks !!!
