I'm not a doctor, but if they were doing an emergency c-section on a woman without a pulse, I'd assume that they had given up trying to revive her. Any doctors out there? Is that wrong? Assuming this is true, it sounds like her heart started spontaneously beating again. I assume they were attempting to revive the baby when he began breathing. Regardless, this event, even if it doesn't weaken the resolve of the most committed skeptic, must at least merit a smile! What a blessing to watch! :)

Actually, it's closer to 97% of the world that believes in some sort of god, less than half believe in the Abrahamic god.

This isn't a miracle. Apparently these people have never birthed a child because plenty of babies are born not breathing. They don't actually breath the whole time they're in the womb. Number one. Going to Hell or not is not a manifestation of God's arbitrary wants, but of His demand for justice from Himself and His creations, which is inflexible. If it was just a matter of God's wants, then He could(and most likely would) arbitrarily change the rules as He sees fit. He would be free to stick an annoying but good saint(plenty of those around) into Hell, and place an entertaining sinner(again, lots of them, too) into Heaven. The result would be, in effect, no rules at all.

Well, considering that about 35% of the world's population is Christian, and we're growing faster than any other religion, I'd say that we're not doing that bad at all.
And Christianity is not the only religion that proclaims eternal bliss for the faithful. Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and some of the old Roman-era pagan mystery cults offer(or offered) the same deal. So if you're just selling a pretty post-end-times picture, then you've got some competition to deal with in that aspect.
Buddhism mentions nothing of a heaven, there are ideas of reincarnation in it though. Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion, it rarely ever mentions a god or gods.
being a nonsecular Buddhist, I will tell you that we do not believe in gods... Buddha himself said that good & evil was created by the deeds of man... that we all suffer for our choices & the choices of others... he went on to say they he does not believe in deities & that when he dies he will continue into the natural cycle of the world... one thing Buddhism does not violate is science... especially Physics... both are based on natural cycles that are not fully understood to this day....
Belief in a God or gods is not a requirement of every religion(ex.: Taoism), and one can be a theist without having a religion(ex.: several of the American Founding Fathers, a lot of the French Revolutionaries).
I know about Buddhist reincarnation, but they also have a final stage of enlightenment they call Nirvana, which is supposed to be a blissful and timeless release from the painful cycle of regenerations. How does that compare(or not compare) to the Abrahamic Heaven?

I do adored my children from the second they were born, but the reason - which does NOT diminish a bit my love for them - is simply this: my genes deeply "care" about surviving the "machine" (my body), and go on to another machine, and so on. That is also the reason why grandparents sometimes feel even more love for their nieces and nephews: being younger than their own children, they have a better shot at surviving and replicating themselves. Slowly, it starts to evaporate, but it still insists on how perfectly fitting the hole appears to be. This continues until the water has completely evaporated from the hole, and the puddle... is no more. Purpose? Hidden meanings? I think not. "Holes and puddles" coming and going for no reason other than just that being or not.

its funny. Christmas is said to be the day Jesus was born, when he was actually born in fall. Its just a replacement holiday to coincide with the pagan calendar. So technically there is nothing special or spiritual about christmas, except its great sales. In other words, This phenomenon is no different then those 1000's that happen each year, Its interesting sure, but its nothing to do with "jesus's bday"

I'm not a doctor, but if they were doing an emergency c-section on a woman without a pulse, I'd assume that they had given up trying to revive her. Any doctors out there? Is that wrong? Assuming this is true, it sounds like her heart started spontaneously beating again. I assume they were attempting to revive the baby when he began breathing. Regardless, this event, even if it doesn't weaken the resolve of the most committed skeptic, must at least merit a smile! What a blessing to watch! :)

Actually, it's closer to 97% of the world that believes in some sort of god, less than half believe in the Abrahamic god.
That's the main thing I hate about religions; it tends to bias people against an entire group of other people, solely because they believe in a slightly different version of some invisible man in the sky. This isn't a miracle. Apparently these people have never birthed a child because plenty of babies are born not breathing. They don't actually breath the whole time they're in the womb. Also, it's obviously exaggerated. If this were to happen any other time, nobody would make a big deal of it. And what is this evidence you speak of. Regardless of whether there was a big band, where did the very first atoms, particles, etc. come from.

Why jump to the conclusion that it was divine intervention, when you and I do NOT actually KNOW what caused these events?
There are many possible explanations, and we should admit that we do not know the cause.

Let me present a sort of logic equation, here.
1. God doesn't want me to go to Hell. True
2. God knows that if I don't believe in him, I will got to Hell. True.
3. God is omnipotent. True
4. Being omnipotent, God knows exactly what he needs to do to prove to me that he is real. True
5. But he doesn't. True
So which of those above is not true? One of them has to be false, or I would be a believer. Does God want me to go to Hell? Is he not omnipotent?

Number one. Going to Hell or not is not a manifestation of God's arbitrary wants, but of His demand for justice from Himself and His creations, which is inflexible. If it was just a matter of God's wants, then He could(and most likely would) arbitrarily change the rules as He sees fit. He would be free to stick an annoying but good saint(plenty of those around) into Hell, and place an entertaining sinner(again, lots of them, too) into Heaven. The result would be, in effect, no rules at all.

Huh... kinda goes against all the anti-God folks' "There is no God" mantra, doesn't it? I, for one, will be thanking God for giving this family such a blessing and praying they have many more in future. Whether you believe in God as God or not, you cannot deny this is an amazing story and pretty indicative of some sort of benevolent creator or being watching over humanity. I'm pretty skeptical about things, but this pretty much sealed it for me on this one.

Well, considering that about 35% of the world's population is Christian, and we're growing faster than any other religion, I'd say that we're not doing that bad at all.
And Christianity is not the only religion that proclaims eternal bliss for the faithful. Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and some of the old Roman-era pagan mystery cults offer(or offered) the same deal. So if you're just selling a pretty post-end-times picture, then you've got some competition to deal with in that aspect.

Buddhism mentions nothing of a heaven, there are ideas of reincarnation in it though. Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion, it rarely ever mentions a god or gods.

being a nonsecular Buddhist, I will tell you that we do not believe in gods... Buddha himself said that good & evil was created by the deeds of man... that we all suffer for our choices & the choices of others... he went on to say they he does not believe in deities & that when he dies he will continue into the natural cycle of the world... one thing Buddhism does not violate is science... especially Physics... both are based on natural cycles that are not fully understood to this day....

Belief in a God or gods is not a requirement of every religion(ex.: Taoism), and one can be a theist without having a religion(ex.: several of the American Founding Fathers, a lot of the French Revolutionaries).
I know about Buddhist reincarnation, but they also have a final stage of enlightenment they call Nirvana, which is supposed to be a blissful and timeless release from the painful cycle of regenerations. How does that compare(or not compare) to the Abrahamic Heaven?
