I want to know what is a great hair style for when you have just started transitioning and your hair doesn't hold curls anymore? I have just recently decided to go natural because I felt like my hair grew better w/o perms and i have been only 2 months w/o a perm so any any info you could give me would be great. I also am experiencing a lot of breakage too!
I feel you girl my mom is from sierra leone and my dad is from jamaica, both are basically black and im sure there was some mixed heritage in the past but people tend to say im not black enough bc my hair is curly...lol
Do you know of any good ways to lighten dark brown ethnic type hair, or is that too damaging? I also am wondering if you've heard of the hair falling out? I've been wanting to do this for a while, but everything i have looked in to has said to go to a good salon in my area.
It's not altering the texture of their hair (well it can if they over process it and it becomes damaged), so it's natural in that sense. It's just not their natural color.
I absolutely love hair and I love your videos! I have been using the Worlds of Curls activator on my hair and it does an amazing job with my natural curls. Please post more naturally curly hair styles on your videos. Thx!
Amazing videos! I got much more info from watching you than from googling. Your hair is beautiful! Im transitioning right now... (its been a year)... and I was wondering something... my stylist said that using a texturizer is a good way to ease into natural hair. But are texturizers permanent? Do you recommend this? Again thx for the videos, you are amazing!
Hey miss! I'm so glad you hit me up with this question. A texturizer is the same thing as a relaxer. You just don't keep it on as long, so the hair doesn't get super straight. It basically knocks out some, but not all of the kink. Heck no it's not a good way to ease into natural hair! Just give up the chemicals all together! Good luck on your transition ;). XOXO
@DPrincess28 Thank you so much for responding to this question. I remember when I was still going to the salon and I wanted to try a twistout. I showed my hairdresser a pic. of a woman w/ a twistout. The woman had Type 3 hair, though, & I have Type 4 hair. The hairdresser said she could make my hair look like that w/ a texturizer. I asked her if a texturizer is the same as a relaxer & she hesitantly said yes. Some people don't know that & stylists certainly don't volunteer info, so thanks!
thank you soo much!!! iv been transistioning for 1year n its taking 4ever for my relax ends to grow out. i feel like relaxing it again but ill stick it out 4 nw thank you again much appreciated
I am a huge fan of your hair videos. However, I would love to see you add in some makeup videos for us in the future! As, I do like the way that you do wear your makeup.
I take a multivitamin for my overall, physical health, but as I stated in my last Healthy Hair Tip video, it seems to have aided in the growth of my hair and the improved strength of my nails.
Umm...how often are you wearing your hair straight? I think your resolution was to not do it too often and you asked folks to let you know if they see a number of videos with straight hair-to call you on it. Just want to make certain you aren't breaking the resolution already :)
You are too funny. Remember, I said I was going to straighten it soon because I was due for a trim. Some folks know how to cut hair while it's curly--I tried it once and it was a disaster! Trust, I won't be straightening it again for a minute. Just know that I pre-record a lot of my vids, so if you see more with my hair straight, it's just 'cause I already recorded it. Thanks for checkin' me though ;)!
It took over a year for a portion of heat damaged hair I had to grow out. Of course your hair is longer than mine was so it will take longer. My advice: DON'T CUT IT! Continue to be patient. It's great that yours is in the back of your head. Mine was too.
have you ever experienced fairy knots (single strand knots)? if so, how did you get rid of them and prevent them from occurring?

I see alot of "natural" individuals with colored hair....is that still considered being natural?
