  • For one Paul it is your life you can do what you want. But just my opinion raw milk is not cooked. It is just animal based. It is God given, the way God made it. It is what man has done to the food not the food itself. I hope you will check this site out. It is about what is behind most problems we have. (know the cause.com) you know we can't put links here. So I have to do it this way.

  • I think its great to keep an open mind, and not getting stuck in the head with concepts about "right" and "wrong"

  • im new at all of this, but i found out that nutritionist say that you are at higher risk of getting diabetes if you eat late at night , thanks for the honesty

  • So I have some concerns. I do raw food but not vegan only, I have fruits as well and mostly starchless veggies. I am concerned about getting the right amount of calcium to my bones and proteins in my body. I've done a lot of research but maybe the point is mute which is why I haven't been able to find anything about it. I just don't want to compromise my body weight either, I'm a skinny guy as is. Could you point me in the right direction or maybe make some suggestions?

  • Most times when someone is insanely optomistic about anything, be it the Vegancult diet, political parties, actors, politicians...etc, etc, they have become an ideologue on the subject. You cannot talk sense to ideologues, waste of time. Just watch Msnbc and you will see them all day, same thing with followers of the Vegancult diet.

  • I'm vegetarian...I might can do the vegan thing but I cannot do the raw vegan thing. I tried eating certain vegetables raw once and it was NOT for me. I will stick to brocolli, tomatoes, and lettuce to name some off the top of my head. Have a good one.

  • We are all differrent .....some people who eat cook food and smoked all their lives have live to over 100 years . Everybodies makeup is not the same ...... so if a little goat milk is going to help your health it is the right decision .

  • Sometimes raw vegans scare me like hardcore religious people do .

  • look, just thinking about what we eat is a step, the people that get all high and mighty, whether it's about diet or politics, just are high and mighty. and really who wants to be high and mighty? high, maybe, but mighty, too? pshaw

  • I find it interesting just how judgemental people get. I imagine using the label "vegan" is pretty limiting and you're suddenly "cheating" if you choose something animal-based. Relax, people. A little goat's milk never killed anyone, and we're all free to eat as we wish. I applaud him for having an open mind and continuing to search for health. We need people like this. Being militant about anything is unhealthy too.

  • I'm a vegan so I'm sure we won't agree on everything, but I like your attitude and philosophy. Keep doing what works for you.

  • you go for it, stay healthy, get healthy, whatever it takes. its about health.

  • The hardcore are diet religionists. Unfortunately their religion takes over from common sense yet they have to prove their diet in the face of evidence to the contrary. Like you they all seem to come to their senses once their bodies let them know that the diet is insane. Look at the diets of the healthiest populations. None are vegan. The Okinawans supplement their plant-based diet with fish and pork. They are healthy into their 80's and 90's and boast the most centenarians per capita.

  • i feel the message of raw/living foods is to eat healthy balenced food, no junk no crap and be happy and enjoy it.

  • I'm glad youre standing up to the raw vegan religion. This raw vegan thing has gone from a diet to an inforcement and has been scaring people like me away (kinda like extremist Christians) ...I've done it to my capability and to my benefit.

  • Eating animal products is not good for the animal...

  • I am similar to you. 95% of my diet is raw and vegan based. Once or twice a week I will have some cooked meat along with my raw food. Its all about balance.

  • thank you!

  • just relax, who says what is right and what is wrong. there is a truth for everyone, for one is 100% raw & some others introduce some animal products.

i think it is very arrogant to think "my way is the only truth"

and why is it a big deal anyway? why not giving the other person the space & the freedom to choose what they wanna eat??!! there are already so many rules out there in this world...!! give yourself & others a break and just relax & enjoy your own way of living :) it's great!!

  • one good point in this video is that 100% raw vegan is not superior to 90% or even 80% raw vegan. It all depends on what you eat.

you can be 100% vegan by eating all types of nuts every day.

If raw foodistsare afraid of minimize nutritional loss, they should not be dehydrating food. Because they have a constraint, they trick themselves out of it by introducing a new concept of cooking. It is very self-rationalizing, and even as a vegan myself some raw foodists have unncessary obsessions..

  • Thank you dude thank you!!!! I´m (almost) raw vegan and I promote it constantly but people are literally moving all the way to the other side and getting crazy about it. THEY WORKSHIP RAW FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are omnivors and as far as we eat it NATURAL ( meat should be WILD or nothing) our bodies are gonna respond positively. I even find FUNNY that you consider Bee pollen an animal product or honey, really????? Do people avoid raw honey because it is an animal product???? Freaks!!!

  • Raw food Diet saved my life. I follow Dr. Robert O. Young's alkaline raw vegetable diet.

  • I agree! there is a minute amount of people who thrive in a vegan diet, we are meant to eat animal products - they were put here for a reason!

  • i agree! many say they eat all raw food ,but uses alot of supplements. and saying its only the raw food.

  • I just came across your video's while searching for a raw vegan cheezecake recipe (btw, thanks I cant wait to make it) I subscribed and was watching this video of your explaining and defending your personal diet choices. When I switched to a vegan diet I was blown away over the reaction of people who seem to be offended or critical by MY diet choices, as if it were any of there business, most vegans can relate I'm sure, so why would they in turn criticize an apposing diet choice, it's ridiculous

  • Hey guys thank you, I so much appreciatre your honesty, I am a new raw food vegan and I have a son that is very little, 2 and a half and so all the info I can get is wonderful. Again, thanks so much.

    Love and laugher,

    Olivia

  • This guy is smart, do not eat in a dogmatic fashion, do what works best for YOU.

  • I totally agree with you!

  • People who are threatened by someone else's diet would be insecure what they are doing. Everyone should do what they want to do.

I think what you are doing is good, because I am on a mostly raw food diet..mostly green raw foods, and I eat cold water fish..berries..I drink turmeric..There are happiness foods. Tumeric, blueberries, cold water fish..People are amazed of how young I look for my age...I am one pound underweight..having a clean system is the key.

  • sorry but your nighttime food idea makes absolutely no sense. The body is sends signals when food is needed be it day or night

  • Speaking of Raw, Lierre Keith, a previous Vegan, but now a heavy meat eater, has plans outlined on her website to kill men in a holocaust fashion. She is mad, and has a criminal mind.

  • I so highly appreciate the honesty of the two of you! I wish everyone was so strong and willing to be completely honest. I really enjoy your videos. I learn so much. And I am so happy now.

  • isn't raw goat milk kind of harsh? I have milked a few goats and it smells quite strong haha

  • Uhh DurianKing, goats milk is totally bad, FORIEN HORMONES, abuse of animals, pregnating them all the time!!

  • Brian Clement eats cooked food when he is on the road tour around the world.

Dr.Gabriel Cousens does't eat cooked foods.

  • I do eat eggs and some goat milk and goat milk products... (yogurts, cheeses, sour creams) once in a while. I won't eat large factory farmed anything due to the abuses of these animals... I rarely eat any meats actually:have been moving away from it for a long while now.

  • eating late at night isnt unhealthy,it may be bad for you personally but no evidence show its unhealthy.

  • what it is is not eating processed foods...u can add animal products...best min processed as u can get it....but early man ate animals guys and girls...sorry to burst the bubble...and yes they did a high raw low cal fruits and veggies...less processd and more organic and live and u will have health...

  • You guys are so right, why go crazy!!! As long as it feels good that's the only thing that matters, no need to go all fanatic..good show guys!!

  • I would like to ask if you have looked into the Dr Abravanel Body Type diet book? In it, he divides people into 4 metabolic types (P, T, A and G). Paul, I think you're a T according to his typing system. He does make the comment that the A and G thrive on vegetarian diets whilst the P and T types generally don't. So I suspect your raw goat milk choice is right for you, but others don't need it and can still be raw vegan. Thanks for your show!

  • Thanks for the honesty. All these so-called raw food leaders are always trying to make a dollar, telling other people how to eat, when they are really confused themselves!! Guess what Paul, when people invest time and energy in the advice you give them, THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT to be upset --Paul Nison, Victoria Butenko, David Wolfe should just live their lives and STOP telling other people how to live theirs! Just spread the message of eating more FRESH fruits and veggies, it is that simple.

  • So if your very hungry at 9 at night and didnt eat enough during the day, you would have to wait until the next day to eat? When you go to sleep with an empty stomach you wont be able to sleep . I stop eating at 7pm . This is raw foods im talking about. I would finish having an apple at 7 or even at 8pm. I digest it really fast so it isnt a problem going to bed at midnight. But I would never eat at 11 or 12 at night .

  • what does eating a healthy meal before bed does?

  • go look at the goat dairy and see how much it resembles a cow dairy just the same animal abuse so there

  • You are wrong about eating in the day time. When you eat it shuts down your Pare sympathetic nervous system. You want to use your Sympathetic nervous system in the day time.

  • Yes Paul you are real teacher I take my hat off to you. I feel it is unrealistic to say everything is 100% 100% of the time with my diet. Not everyone can change and realign their ideals with such openness to what needs addressing.

  • Paul,

How about taking warm milk before sleep?

(that and 500 mg of magnesium+5 mg of melatonin have cured my insomnia)

  • ☮

  • Paul, while I am still sticking to the pure veganism, I want to THANK YOU for addressing the issue of raw vegan as a RELIGION. I am a local raw chef, (we met at OMC), and I am usually about 90% raw. I firmly believe that anything that you do with such rigidity is only putting more stress on your life, your body, your mind and your SPIRIT! Thank you again for for your constant pursuit of what really works for YOU!! Thank you for being open and honest and for all you help. ;)

  • i agree with Catlady's comments above. I have been a Vegan for 25 years and raw for four of those. To say that a vegan diet, or a raw vegan diet is no good for you is just plain wrong. You reached this conclusion from a conversation with one man? I could care less about you eating 10% in cooked foods but when you start eating animal products and you try to justify them in your diet, well, that's just plain wrong. Sorry, but you'll get no more of my business. I only buy from vegans.

  • I can't go to sleep unless I pacify myself. It's not healthy to feel stressed, hungry, and unhappy trying to self control my hunger when I can just gently quiet it. EVERYONE has a different path. Some people are Hippocrates, or whatever it may be. WE ALL NEED TO TRUST OURSELVES. Each body intuitively knows what to do.

    Namaste.

  • Paul, i was raw-vegan for 8 mths and my children were both on it also. We all felt at that ending point that we were just starting to suffer in certain ways, though we did experience great benefits of the raw diet. My kids were both healed of eczema, my spontanious rashes dissapeared and my 8 plantars warts fell off. I'm interested in you sharing what it is that you and your family eat that isn't raw. Would you mind sharing?

  • Hi Paul you should read books from Dr. Gabriel Cousens and Brian Clement they have been vegan for over 20 years or more. I am glad your honest about eating animal products but saying animal products are good for you is just wrong. It is sad that you could not walk the talk. But saying raw vegan is not good for you is just plain wrong. Anyway I wish you and yours a long happy life.

  • I disagree with you. I've read books by Gabriel and Brian and all the books. There is nothing unhealthy about raw goat milk. you need to do more research if you believe it's not healthy.

  • 'There is nothing unhealthy about raw goat milk'

What are u comparing the milk to?

You never explained why '[you] decided we need animal products'

'It's a treat when I get a chance to eat goat milk' doesn't address the fact that ALL milk is a compromise to available ripe fruit for adults.

The examples do not 'speak for themselves' without control groups to compare. Yes Jack Lalane may be relatively healthy compared to most people consuming mixed diets.

  • @thedurianking I can't speak for other "raw foodists" even though I am 100% raw since 1999, but Paul, I am not making a religion out of this. I simply enjoy looking, performing and feeling my best. The body can not be deceived. Blood tests, fitness tests, and how you look and feel can not be argued with. I think more "raw foodists" should wake up to reality and avoid the dogma. Life is real! Belief and prayer is GREAT but even Jesus remind us that the written word is only as good as what you do!

  • @thedurianking so then your no longer vegan either? way to give up man!!

  • @thedurianking Have you looked at your live blood after eating dairy. In Rainbow Green Gabriel discusses how someone eating raw goats milk (from a goat in the mountains) had a significant increase junk in the blood. Would love to know what you have seen.

  • @thedurianking treeoflife.nu/media-library/articles-videos-more/why-no-dairy/

  • @Catlady11

Humans, by nature, are omnivores. There is no doubt (in my mind, at least) that cooking food does not have any benefits and is even detrimental to ones health. However, being an omnivore means that we are able to digest animal products (though to me raw meats and eggs make more sense for an omnivore than milk) and in moderate amounts, animal products can (and have for centuries) sustained good health.

  • @Catlady11 eating humanly grass-fed animal products actually has HEALTH benefits. Look it up: CLA.

  • @Catlady11 You need to do some more research. IT is known that many raw food practitioners cheat, and do consume animal products. With that said there is plenty of proof that animal products if raised and slaughtered properly can be beneficial to some individuals diet. eating Raw Vegan is perfect for cleaning someone out and then starting them on a path to rebuild themselves and make healthier choices. Check out Daniel Vitalis work. Plus we need animal manure to sustain good soil.

  • Why don't you read some more books up on it? Its a mistake to change from raw without the proper research. That old guy was just one man, and i didn't like his skin and the fat accumulated on his face. The man itself was an awesome guy, I'd just not listen to him that's all. read and look into the long lived raw food eater's life stories. But of course you have to fight this through yourself. marry christmas

  • Most long lived Raw foodist were not vegan. But thanks for you comment anyway.

  • N.W Walker

  • Norman Walker used Goat Milk often.

  • @thedurianking : So did Gandhi, at the request of his doctors due to his failing health.

  • love paul, hate that bad music in the beginning!

  • Should I comment on this? Hard to say. I deleted what I wrote here about it all, only to say that I find this video quite sad, without really explaining why.

  • I've been raw vegan 10 years and vegan 25 years. Always eating my last meal early for the last 35 years at least due to hardcore fitness requirements. In the last ten years I have experimented with about six to ten meals with some cooked food and every time experienced bad breath, weakness, stomach discomfort and fatigue the next day. My workouts would suffer unless I ate raw vegan. I am just sharing my humble experiences. My students, friends and family all have the same results.

  • @RawFitChris There is actually what some consider a 'transition' diet when coming on or off raw foods. For instance look at fasting. If you are eating lots of pizza and junk food then decide "I'll just fast" and then you don't take an enema at the beginning or end (some do both some only 3-4 days after they've fasted). Then you break your fast with cooked food, you're body is gonna let you know what's up, believe me. I broke a fast eating strawberries and dairy, talk about uncomfortable!

  • Oh yeah. And do to a third world country. They don't have any food there.

  • I have been trying to be 100% raw, and it wasn't helping me. I tried a more practical - protein/raw veggie diet and it works for me. I had my blood tested and I was very low in vitamin a and d. I have eggs every day with raw okra and kale and I'm feeling great.

  • @atlasgirl1977

I am worried about vitamin D also, so I started taking a supplement.

  • I agree with you both 100% that we need to be honest with ourselves and each other as we grow healthfully in this world. Being stuck in labels can be detrimental to our well-being. I'm grateful to be part of your world and experiences. Always, we are changing. Thank you!!!! Blessings of Peace Light and Love. Namaste, Danielle

  • For me it's not that your aren't raw it's that you aren't vegan. For me, I'm vegan for ethical/animal rights reasons not for health reasons, although I still believe one can be very healthy on a vegan diet. Are you still promoting the hippocrates diet Paul?

  • Please know your honesty is VERY much appreciated. That is what keep me being a loyal follower and supporter. Keep it up, Paul! :)

  • Paul you look more authentic in the way you talk, and thank god you stopped shouting:). Thanks for being honest but I would really like to know what was your diet for the past 5 years? Because what you describe in the first 10 years is not healthy diet: nuts and crackers. So, I don't believe in raw vegan either, but wonder what if you eat more greens all these years and less coconut and durians....

  • Hi Paul!

I really appreciate these videos, as I have been struggling as a vegan/raw food vegan for the past few years. I realized that raw foodism had become an idol in my life, and needed to recommit my heart, mind and health to the Lord.

I look forward to reading your book the Daylight Diet, as I fasted in this manner during Lent this year and it greatly improved my whole sense of well being.

May God continue to bless your health.

    Peace.

  • Honesty is appreciated Paul and Andrea.

    Thank you xx

  • been raw for 1 year and been through alot of approaches/fasts/cleanses with all info available and although you cant compare my experience to a 40 year ol veteran, i decided against 'raw/veganism' dogma months ago...there are too many foods that have been involved in our evolution to denounce them! strict raw/veganism is degenerative in my opinion. cleansin, uplifting but not grounding or meditative. eat early, light, varied, flavoursome food. transcend and include!

  • Thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge. It is very much appreciated and I find your honesty very refreshing. I agree that steamed veggies are better than many raw food deserts. Please keep doing what you do.

  • Paul, people have a knack for making a religion out of their passions. Fanaticism is the brother of doubt.

  • Paul u look shiney.

  • Well explained. My family and boyfriend snicker at how I'm always changing my mind about what I eat or what's healthy, and I felt a bit guilty about it. But if one looks at it as a quest for health, of course one's mind needs to be open, like you said. Thank you for your honesty and not keeping a facade just to please your "following";-)

  • The key to good health is not to overeat and daylight diet. I will never eat dead carcass of any being but i do consume organic raw milk. Health is the effect of so many other factors besides food, like sunshine, loving heart, healthy relationships, Exercise, positive outlook etc.

  • Also... I was recently reflecting on how strangely 'unnatural' is actually is to be a raw foodist whilst living in cold environments, such as Melbourne in winter where I live. If I were to eat what naturally great around me it would probably be potatoes and some spinach...I wouldn't even be able to make a green smoothie as there wouldn't be any fruit! We are so accustomed to the abundance of fruit always on offer that we forget. 100% raw probably works best in Hawaii..otherwise supplement :)

  • There really feels like a need lately to just be honest and real with how one approaches the raw food diet...for so long it has seemed like the ultimate faux pas to admit to eating anything cooked or non-vegan once claiming to be a raw foodist...most having to carry out this behaviour in secrecy with a feeling of shame...thanks Paul fo putting this on the agenda helping to dissolve the judgements and religious zeal that you often discover on the raw food journey..

  • Thank you for your honesty, both with yourself and in sharing with others. Bless you and your family with abundant health, happiness and wealth:)

  • I respect your honesty because it really helps others who are trying to eat a raw food vegan diet. I'm not interested in eating too many animal products (no pus and blood - milk from any animal, raw or not raw), but I do eat a little honey and bee pollen. I'll add more legumes and grains and steamed veggies. We must listen to out bodies and act accordingly.

I will guess Fred Bisci is the 40 year raw foodist. :) I mentioned you in my recent blog post today. :) Blessings!

  • It's one thing I've noticed over my 20 years of exposure to the "Raw Life", is people want to make it a religion. There are many things that affect our health and life. It's a Body, Mind, Spirit story here. Do the best you can in the moment. Live in Peace, Joy, Grace and Happiness. OHM!

  • Good Job.

  • I have been 100% raw for over 12 years and feel great. I totally disagree with you when you say it can't be done, it can. I admire your honesty, but even honest people sometimes give out false information. Love you, Ronnie

  • I really admire you honesty. Thank you for putting aside your ego and speaking the truth. My respect for you has gone up considerably.

  • Thank you so much for being so honest. I would love to be 100% raw, but so far I haven't found the way to do it and feel 100% healthy either. Any honest info is really appreciated. : )

  • well for the low DHA you can eat purslane. for bones Sesame seeds for calcium and horsetail herb for silica or a supplement like innate bone response that matt monarch sells. cutting back on the coconuts would help with the cholesterol.. dunno how to fix histamine levels but there are alternatives to animal products. I'm high raw right now and slowly transitioning higher. if correcting deficiencies means animal products, so be it. my goal isn't labels and dogma but to just be healthy.

  • Thanks Paul and Andrea ~ I appreciate you shooting straight from the hip! You always give me food for thought!

    Debbie *Ü*

  • you re no longer raw vegan because high fat raw isnt satiating and not working so you re always looking to fill the void. Like Sadeaters you re constantly eating stuff. I eat 2 times a day and i never get hungry on raw vegan. Research the China study, low fat high carb is healthy its scientificly proven. The 80/10/10 diet is the only way to be healthy as a rawvegan. But you should always monitor your blood in case you re doing something wrong.

  • I am very proud of you guys go for it and be very healthy...people freak out because they are caught up in loyalty to a belief or a system rather than dealing with their individual health.

  • Hahaha I love the star wars credits ending!

  • I eat all day long and all night, so what

  • Comment removed

  • ok your not explaining why its not the same to eat a apple at night compared to daytime??????

  • It is about eating real whole foods! It is about enjoying all the different variety of foods!

  • I think eating salmon, free range eggs, sardines, blueberries, and green leafy vegetables with acai powder is amazing for skin regeneration! Trust me it works! Aloe Vera is also a miracle skin lotion. I use it on my face every day. Moderation is key! Some people say salt is evil and some say its the best. The fact is we need a balance of it. The right kind is important. You know if people just stopped eating junk and drinking soda then people would be healthier. It isn't about raw or vegan.

  • Extremist of any beliefs are dangerous. Eating is not a religion.

1 Timothy 4 (King James Version) 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

  • I agree that not over eating is key. Thanks for speaking your truth.

  • Go Paul and Andrea!

  • This is getting ridiculous; Victoria Butenko announces that she is no longer raw vegan........wait for it........because she eats steamed kale once a month. These sort of petty differences being announced as major shifts is exasperating for those of us new to the concept of raw. Yes,honesty is great, but all this 100%,99%........give it a rest, please. Is eating steamed kale once a month and a tiny amount of goats milk a week REALLY going to have any sort of impact at all? I doubt it somehow.

  • Yes I agree. Eating raw food should be done for your health and should not be a label or some sort of club, if you eat anything cooked something terrible will happen? Come on!

I eat mostly raw food, sometimes its unavoidable though, but I eat for health and I do not think that people should be so obsessed...now that is unhealthy. Relax!

  • I feel the same way as a very new Raw fooder. I mean its lovely to hear from Nison and Butenko, Thats fine, but then others are making such a huge deal of it, I get nervous and stressed, cant we just live and learn and listen to our bodies? And of course occationally get blood tested? Seems the right way for me :) Maybe I should wach less youtube Raw videos and read and live instead, taking it slow is what I intended to do in the start anyway xD

  • Good point, yes, I am supposed to be taking it slow and steady too. I watch quite a few videos and maybe I should stop and just do my own thing. I have learned an awful lot, but quibbling over a drink of milk or a bowl of kale is really annoying. Paul accuses others of making raw a religon, but he is one of the most vocal when it comes to trying to tell us all how to live - don't eat after dark, do this do that....., then claims it's others who are being too strict.

  • isn't NY in another universe ? hmmmm

    as is Anjuna....

    go raw

    raw go A..

hi folks... your background needs life... flowers , fruit, or something to reflect your soul... I craved cooked tomatoes at three in the morning earlier this year after a life threatening operation . whoops how many rules have I broken!!! love my coconut and greens for breakfast, and coconut n mangoe for later... live in tropics australia nexta timor...

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • If anyone doubts Paul, you should read: "Shazzie's article on raw vegan children." Google it.
