You dont need the keys, you can play with the mouse. The keys are just shortcuts for some orders. I dont know them.

I can't seem to get the CD audio playthrough to work on this game under windows 2000, it makes it a lot less fun without the music! Anyone have any ideas?

Well I think there is no chance :( But you can put the CD into the drive and copy the music as mp3 to your harddrive and play it in the background while playing.

I played this game at 1999, in his Spanish version. It was one of the first PC games that I played and I still playing from time to time.

It is possible play it under Win XP with a No-CD crack.

Reminds me of an idea i had once based on the original radio broadcast. The martians invade just as Europe is entering the secound world war and so you have martian tripods fighting german panzers.

This is just a translation. The original game is in english but this is the german release.

The reason the Martians invaded Britain was that Britain was considered to be the most powerful nation on earth at the time HG Wells wrote the book. That, and the whole thing is meant to be an allegory of British Imperialism.

I think they should do a remake of this game, same period but better graphics and more human factions for a wider conflict such as the Germans having better artilley units and Zepplins, British having better tanks and naval units and the french..... good as cannon fodder and being thrashed as usual lol

The martians wanted to take over the world, but they appeared to be bent on capturing Britain first. I'm touched, they made the right decision. They also made the right decision to take over mr. Kipling's first. Who knows what would have happened to the martians if they took Cadbury's first.
