Pour your desired amount of water into a measuring cup first or another cup of the same size........Then pour immediately pour it into the coffee...........This way you know it will not overflow.............Also, if you can plug the bottom of the basket with something like a rubber stopper that is long enough so that you can grab it to pull it out...................You can let your coffee brew in the basket for as long as you like....Then pull the plug and let it drip...2-5 minutes works well.
I use filtered water and only heat up the amount I'm going to use. Other than that, good demo. Re: keeping coffee after it is ground or bag is opened. I put it in a Ziploc bag and after I scoop what I need I close the bag 90%, squeeze out as much air as I can then close the ziploc the rest of the way. This appears to lessen how much air is trapped in the bag. It also allows you to see how much coffee you have left.
one advise on this method of making coffee. You shouldn't put water on the edges because some of the water will go straight through the filter without taking the aroma with it. Just poor water in the center of the filter. Water never touches the filter in a direct way if you stay in the center en the water will reach the edges by itself

For you to leave the coffee in the bag open is a no no, flavor and aroma is lost when exposed to air.
