It's very likely it won't pass, but the fact that we can get bills like it in front of congress is a huge step. There will be more to come. People won't quit smoking.

@FrobblOo The biggest killers with opiates are unknown purity and lost tolerance. Your body very quickly loses tolerance to opiates like heroin. You can just avoid being sick (and not even get high) with a dose on Tuesday, not get any dope for 2 days and then OD on that same dose on Friday. A large killer of heroin addicts is arrest. An addict gets locked up for a day or 2 and then comes out sick as a dog and od's on a dose that wouldn't have killed him the other day. I knew people who did it.

The united states is the most advanced country technology wise and military. There needs to be reason to enter war (iraq for oil). Without war the US wouldn't be the country it is today. Now marijuana the natural god given plant that is all good does nothing but heals, and brings peace and happiness. I can see why its illegal. I mean, the only thing you feel like doing when your high is sitting down, watching tv or something of the like. if you were to show up to your job, whether it be an office job or with machinery i wouldnt trust someone high to be doing work. and a teacher teaching the class blazed as hell isnt very ideal imo

The government wont legalize it cause its non addictive. Look at the two legal drugs, tobacco and alcohol, nicotene and alcohol are two of the most addicting substances, and that's why theyre legal, cause if someone cant live without your product, you make a lot of money. also, as much as i wouldnt want to say this, the main reason why opiates bring so many deaths with them is that it is often cut and is differently potent. this means its extremely hard to even impossible to find the right dosage and people easily overdose and die. if it was legal only the pure and right dosages could be sold and there would be much less deaths.

@FrobblOo The biggest killers with opiates are unknown purity and lost tolerance. Your body very quickly loses tolerance to opiates like heroin. You can just avoid being sick (and not even get high) with a dose on Tuesday, not get any dope for 2 days and then OD on that same dose on Friday. A large killer of heroin addicts is arrest. An addict gets locked up for a day or 2 and then comes out sick as a dog and od's on a dose that wouldn't have killed him the other day. I knew people who did it.

@Xsetra08 Just so you know, cannabinoid receptors are not "brought to life" when you smoke ganj. Rather, your body naturally produces chemicals called endocannabinoids, which are used (they think, provisionally) to help regulate systems like body temperature, hunger, mood regulation, etc. But whatevers.

Weed is illegal yet 'legal', you can't grow it save a few 'legal' plants, you can't sell it yet we have entitled shops that have a *secret* source of weed.
Being happy as I seemed, I read the news paper a few days ago where professional weed dealing bandits make a 9 billion euros market, murder, too!
But then again, that's a Dutch system, with tons of compacted people and neighbouring countries.
No idea how the weed plan might work out for other countries.

Oh no it's not that they can't make money off it, they know there's a SHIT ton of money involved in it. The reason is, legalizing it would put so many other business' and companies out of business that are involved with the US and other countries. Imagine all the drug companies, paper, cloth, textile, medicine, drop in alcohol sales, everything has to be accounted for. Even all that put aside, imagine all the traffic increase between Canada and the US.
