I want to make sense of this...and how come....hip-hop (true hip-hop) is so big in Europe? I just watched the Onyx webpage and they are huge over in Russia.

  • yea homie..it makes me sad that hip hop has taken a turn for the worse...but all is well at the end of the day

  • i thought i was the only one who did this. i think it's those two sampled instrumentals that do it for me. it's just so damn good!

  • The saxaphone is what got me. As soon as I heard it I just remembered so many artists from whayback and got kind of sad because hip hop just doesnt sound the same.

  • This sh!t is TOO cold...soulja boy and his fans would die just listening...

  • kids who listen to solja boy have no right to endulge themselves in pure hip hop ability..i mean...they are so used to nonsense that they would probly not even reckognize real hip hop as HIP HOP...feel me

  • Canadas loves the hip hop taggers.Bring the noise.E-town in the house.

  • they both do.

  • to keenz24 and xRKTERx...Artifacts are from Newark, NJ..Tame One is a writer and they were apart of big writer crew called the Boom Squad. I think this song is a classic and I still keep it in rotation. I wasn't a writer but I had friends that went hard at it..I actually still pay attention to the graph that be on the walls to this day..it's Art

  • el was never b.s.

  • origins of hip hop are rooted with graff,b-boys breaks and that shit bro - think like this yeh you wanna hear bout drive bys and uzis or graff and a few blunts??

  • Doesn't Madlib sample this song in the Quasimoto song "Loop Digga"?

  • Or "The Unseen" rather

  • yeah he does..i was mad psyched when they made a whole song outta this baseline.

  • dopest song

  • man i know what ur saying.lil W soldier etc. saw it easy to make money without puttin effort or ceativity in music (hip hop) yeah back in the days it was good cause it wasnt about money but skills, beats and lyrics not to mention GOOD MUSIC period. Once it became marketable it changed. nas could do a song that is hip pop but he will still come back to doing good shit.unlike others. Why do you think alot of artist are going indy? like Mos def to name a few.
  • this is real hip hop...big ups

  • u cant blame Puff, he did alot for the game before '97. Bad Boy was the standard in hip-hop! no doubt!

This joint right though is my shit!! i still rock this joint damn near everyday!

  • Yo I wana dedicate this jam to everybody that was down wit me back in 1993/1994 ya'll stay up PEACE OUT.

  • aaah i love graffiti and i love 90's rap...there couldnt be a better combination!

  • hip hop got big so jews saw away to make

money from it. thats what fucked it up.

Incase you ask...yes JEWS own all the major

labels. So Soldier Boy is Marketable but not

Leyends like Krs,Mos def. Psycho Realm,

Jedi mind, Nas and so on. It's up to us

    keep it alive.

  • Wow, way to be fucking antisemitic. There are plenty of black cats who fucked he game up. P Diddy in my eyes is largely responsible for selling out Hip Hop in the late 90s. Not to mention Master P and Cash Money, that shit's whack as fuck. For your info, KRS was very popular back in his day. JMT choses to be underground. Nas IS mainstream. Soldier Boy is popular because of the Crunk explosion. Lil John's responsible for that. If you truly think the Jews are killing Hip Hop, that's pathetic.

  • dopest beat of all time!!!

  • the best of artifacts!!!

    this is real shit

  • Real Hip Hop...you can't complain...listen to that beat, look at the graff, and the MC's...this is what this century needs! Man what happened?

  • Fuck! I found gold!

  • oh! This is a nice one

  • fuck ya man

  • No Son...This is Hip Hop!!! Real Shit!

  • Why couldn't a version (clean or dirty) of this song appear on Mark Ecko's Getting Up video game back in the day? It seems very applicable and matching to the game's theme.

P.S. Tame One's solo release called Spazmatic is nice in its own right. You can see the lyrical growth as an artist.

  • I'm glad it wasn't Getting Up

  • Hell naw, once that came out, EVERYONE wanted to "TAG". They weren't writers.

  • ILL TUNE!!!!!!!!

  • don't even complain... enjoy this shit

  • This genre, or era of hip hop is dead, yes.

It's obsolete now, hip hop has evolved into what it is now, no artist is gunna clown and make an album that sounds like golden era boom bap,

because hip hop just isnt that anymore.

  • I'd agree with you on all commercial and mainstream formats but you gotta check the indie labels. People Under The Stairs bring back that old boom bap. If you've been sleeping on them than I suggest you wake the fuck up.

  • big up tame and koor

  • these dudes are still rapping with CAGE in Def JUX look them up
