I am not sure St. Francis would agree with this interpretation. Where people hurt, help THEM to forgive? When people doubt YOU let ME show true faith? Help ME bring hope to the HOPELESS? These seem like childish, preachy, puffed-up sentiments. The original prayer reflects Francis' honesty, humility and deep understanding of his OWN doubts, and his OWN ability to forgive. The profound insight, that peace comes from dying to self, seems somehow trivialized by the bit about frowns and smiles.
Dear artist, Thank you for setting Jenkin's music with this poem. "The Armed Man-A Mass for Peace" was performed at our Cathdral last year. The photo at 1:12 is probably a ceremony in Guatemala in which massacre victims from the civil war who had been exhumed and identified, were to be re-buried with dignity.
A heartbreaking comment on genocide. Photo and music exloring the question of forgiveness. Thank you for this film!
Thank you so much for making this video <3

We learned this prayer at school when I was young and I used to love it. Our Musicteacher made a song, so we could sing it.

Honestly, I'm not sure what that is a picture of exactly. The music is the Benedictus from "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" by Jenkins.
