There's no joke about it now. Minneapolis' Hip-Hop scene is a contender for the most creative in the country. It' has it's own brand of individuality and chill that is not a part of any other scene. Love it! Keep reppin' Rhymesayers crew!

Toki is a real emcee, hell he was playing shows on international tours before he even released his debut album! The main thing that sets him above other conscious rappers is his incredible amount of energy and charisma. It is relieving to hear some raw energy that doesnt sound forced, unlike many of these so-called hardcore, violent, fictitious rappers. If you haven't bought "A Different Mirror" yet, I'd recommend buying the cd. It comes with a sick poster too.
nice song only thing I dont like about rythmesayers is there only popular in the suburbs, they gets no bumps in the city or the hood, most people look at em like corny rappers in saint paul and minneapolis, they do shows downtown and only suburb kids come but I like there positive message and hope maybe they come to the hood and promote there stuff.

@MrAcephoenix I don't think anybody in Rhymesayers has a problem playing anywhere where people are buying tickets. Set up a solid show at any venue with adequate sound, pay people properly, and have a good turnout and there wont be a problem. People need to get it out of there head that Rhymesayers is purposely not playing anywhere.

@princeofqueens718 Benzilla (new, up-and-coming producer from Mpls) produced most of the album, including this song. Brother Ali produced a couple of tracks, too.
Also, if you think he sounds mainstream you obviously haven't heard the rest of his music. This is just one song that happened to become popular. The rest of his music isn't mainstream at all.
This song isn't his best song. BUT I saw him live and he is seriously amazing. Way impressed. And when I talked to him, briefly before the show he was super cool. Good work Sayers finding another homegrown hip hopper to add to your impressive list!

@princeofqueens718 Benzilla (new, up-and-coming producer from Mpls) produced most of the album, including this song. Brother Ali produced a couple of tracks, too.

This song isn't his best song. BUT I saw him live and he is seriously amazing. Way impressed. And when I talked to him, briefly before the show he was super cool. Good work Sayers finding another homegrown hip hopper to add to your impressive list!

But thats the thing, he sounds so mainstream it's sick. Atmosphere, Blueprint, Eyedea and abilities, Brother Ali, P.O.S., Grayskul, Mac Lethal... they all have their sound, where as he sounds like everyone else out now, another dime a dozen rapper....
