The conditions are terrible, but it's interesting how they can twist things. The rounds the man is holding are actually AK-47 rounds. Israel uses M-16 and the militant groups within Gaza use AK-47's. So what they are picking up are shells left behind by militant groups within Gaza.

After the war in 1956 Israel and Egypt had an agreement, signed with the help of the UN. That if Egypt closes the Straits of Tiran for Israeli ships and moves its army into the Sinai desert, it would be considered an act of war and Israel would have every right to respond. After Egypt did just that, Israel spent months trying to find a diplomatic solution, but that did not work so an attack was the only way.

In addition, 65 people (patients and companions) crossed into Israel from the Gaza Strip for medical treatment in Israeli hospitals via Erez crossing.

In addition, 800,000 liters of diesel fuel for heating and 240,000 tons of gas were transferred via Nahal Oz which also closed during the afternoon after Palestinian snipers fired at the crossing.

Joey, you're probably right in that the INdian Americans have been in the past treated very poorly, but I don't think its a fair comparison in the current situation. Indians here in Canada are given extraordinary provisions. I understand that these provisions dont' make up for past digressions, but at the same time its silly to compare the treatment of Palestinians with that of American Indians (at least from what I know in Canada).

It was given to the Jews in 1948. The old "Palestinians" left Israel in the '48 War of Independence; as ordered by their Arab generals to flee- so that the Arab nations' armies can clean out the Jews first without hurting their own civilians.
The modern "Palestinians" are simply Jordanian and Egyptian war refugees from the 1967 Six Day War.

Up until then, Israel was just used as a checkpoint for Syrian shepherds- nothing more. You can see the Ecaliptus trees that the pioneers planted in order to dry out the swamps in all of Israel- if you want proof.
