Star Tropics (NES) Ending

One of the best endings in game history. I was certainly pleased by how long it was a kid. Felt very rewarded for how hard it was to beat the game. Two things though.....1. They need to have Mike as a playable character in the next Smash Bros. game, and 2. They NEED to finally make a Star Tropics 3!

Kind of funny, StarTropics is like MOTHER in a way -- Both are adventure games set in the modern day that never got japanese/american releases, respectively. Both are also sort of cult classics.

@poopmaster13 that was supposed to be a respective type of deal -- MOTHER never got released in the US (or anywhere outside of japan, AFAIK), Startropics never got released in Japan.

@al169568 Because when he first meets Zoda (when Zoda taunts him at the beginning of the last dungeon) the text goes 'Mike stuffs bananas in his ears' or something like that, to block out the voice of Zoda. See the 19 or 18th part of the startropics video (with the word complete in the title) and you should catch a glimpse of the text. Peace.

LMAO, I remember beating this when I was nine, I gave the game up cause I couldn't get past the freaking Head/Hand thing near the end. The witch doctor lady freaked me out mentioning I almost gave up.

I got this game from a friend of mine in Junior High. It's truly unfortunate that the mainstream game developers are so ignorant about who really plays or wants to play their games. Otherwise I'd love to see a version of StarTrpics developed that would be geared towards blind gamers. We're out there and we've been trying to talk with game developers for years but to no avail. And since copyright is an issue our own small band of developers can't just make their own version with audio only.

I remember this game. I played it all the time when I was a child. I never did get to see the ending though due to losing my system. It brings back such memories to see this game's ending. I hope someday to have a NES again... This and Mario were the greatest games ever!

I only wish I'd had the good fortune of having the "extra page" of the instruction manual that gave you the code you need to provide to your robot companion in order to progress, as it hadn't crossed my mind to check online for it at my young age. That was the only thing impeding me from what might have been the greatest adventure of my electronic life.

Thank the lord I would later have StarTropics 2 to complete over and over again.

Star Tropics was created 1990.

Dragon Quest 8 uses the word Argonian as well. I don't know if the game creators made the word up or not, it could be a reference from some old fantasy fiction novel.

This great game had a poor sequel, and was lost in the archives of the gaming world... If only Startropics III would appear to give Mike the epic retirement or new journeys he deserves... Startopics II just wasn't a decent game for him at all!
