man and i thought i was living large with a 55 gallon and 30 gallon tank one ontop of the other in my bed room nice tank man would love to see an updated video gonna subscribe hope all the fish are doing well as i see some of the last comments were 10 months ago
My friend has 3 Oscars n a 125 gal tank. 1 tiger Oscar, 1 albino tiger, and 1 regular Oscar. She's looking on upgrading to a bigger tank... but the Oscars are around 4". She loves your set up. She wants to add more fish to her tank, but she's afraid the Oscars won't like room mates. Can she add any other fish? She's getting a 250 gal tank in the spring next year. How she gets these huge tanks, idk, she says its simple... so can she add anymore fish??
thats the nicest tank ive seen in while! ive always wanted a bigass tank like that but ive always thought twice bcuz it would be a pain in the ass to clean
Tiger barbs can be vicious when they're in a pack..I used to have a pack of 12 in a 55 gallon tank I had...they terrorized my oscar I had in there temporarily while I was cycling out his tank.
do you think a dragon goby (8 inches) would get eaten by my peacock eel? (12 inches) i need an answer so i can know whether or not to tranfer my goby to my other tank prepared
@1524raely nope 12 inch is too big for him to swallow btw i have a peacock eel i have hime for about 2 months on a 20 gal and his 8 inch i was wondering how long did it reach yours to grow to 12
Thanks! We lost our white Oscar due to intestinal blockage and a ruptured adomen but the rest are doing great. I hope to get a new video of the tank this weekend.
You should get a red tail shovel nose hybrid catfish or a paroon shark the only prob is they would end up getin huge and eating your fish. Nice tank tho
aaahhh 300g tank. my dream as soon as I move out of my rents house and into mine I m dedicating an entire wall to my fish hehe. for now I m settling with a 45g. lovely tank mate.
Just do a lot of research on the net about the different temperaments of cichlids. It's pretty much a crap shoot but there are some that are better than others. My Aceis seem to be pretty peaceful. As far as that goes the Oscars are pretty darned peaceful as well.
I change 25% of the water once a week and vacuum the gravel once every two weeks. The gravel vac\water change takes about an hour from start to finish.
Hard, no, gotta have the right tools. Time consuming, a little. I spend an average of about 1 to 1 1/2 hour a week maintaining it. Well worth the time.
hey bro nice tank. i have 2 oscars and a jd there small right now but do you have any suggestions on food to feed them like treats? i fed them some baby guppies today.
hey whats up man i can answer that im not the owner of this video or anyhing i was just viewing his video and saw your comment anyway i have two oscars and two jds i feed them the brand hikari and the name cichlid gold i fine its very good and color enchancing its the red package with a red oscar on the front now treats u can them feeder fish once a month.u want to limit yourself on live foods they can catch diseases from just eating live foods.
WHy feed em live food AT ALL? for entertainment? why risk getting your tank infected or having your fish get hole in the head? its not even a treat i think a nasty feeder wouldnt taste as good as flavored food. IMO
I NEVER feed them feeder fish. That is just asking for disease.
I feed Hikari Cichlid Gold and Excel. Tubifex worms, Quality Spirilina pellets, frozen silversides, frozen bloodworms, krill and just placed an order with Kensfish for some of his different cichlid mixes.
Oscars are one of the most intelligent fish that I've had... My oscar would get really excited when I came into the room... and he would pout and try to hide at the bottom of the tank when anyone else would come in... and I taught him to do tricks for his food : )
They act as if they don't even know they are in the same tank together. Although every now and then a Tiger Barb will disappear in the middle of the night due to hungry Oscars. :)
And yes I knew the Oscars would probably eat the Tiger Barbs. I started with over 20 to cycle the tank. Six remain to this day and the remaining Tiger Barbs are bad asses.
I use an F-6 Mighty Magnet for the sides and a good ole gravel vac for the gravel, just let it drain outside. Three times a week I do a quickie water change and clean that takes 45 minutes and once a month I do a thorough cleaning that takes about an hour and a half.
