  • 1:23 Ford Crown Victoria!

  • 2:10 WOW COMPLETE IDIOTS

  • that was exciting!

  • Ladder, rescue, or pumper ?

  • Rush hour call is the worst! Kudos to the firetruck driver dodging bad drivers!

  • Cool

  • get the hell out of the way

  • People out there drive like shit, horn and siren blaring and these idiots just keep on coming through the intersection.

  • hahaha so much for my tea and coffee had that happen before

  • u have some old lights on the van in front of u when u got the call

  • did u guys get cancelled towards the end?

  • @NVA003 Yes, we were cleared by the 1st two trucks on scene.

  • That's a waste of time

  • I love the sound of that engine. It sounds so bold and tough!

  • is station 134 the station near yonge and eglinton?

  • @mboz38 Yes, three blocks north, west on Montgomery Ave.

  • Thats a great shot.... cool do see what you guys talk about and what goes on inside the cab.

  • Your speed is so slow. Our trucks, even up hill can go up to 70. Yet i guess its your trucks fualt for being so MASSIVE like the reast of your country is, Cars, Homes, Roads, Trains.................lol The list goes on and on. HA - I am not takeing a mick, i think the US is a great country. Yet like you Americans, i do not have to like everything you have, just like you don't in my country.

  • @robotracking Toronto is actually in Canada so good one buddy. And btw theres no point for them to go any faster... the response time was terrific. They would just become a danger to other motorists if they were speeding

  • Toronto Fire and EMS together in "Toronto Fire Rescue" video on my page.

    T.J.F.

  • What company made the truck you were in?

  • @five0fan

This was a 1988 Mack truck. This truck was decommissioned in 2008 (too costly to maintain).

  • @five0fan This truck was a 1987 or 88 Mack truck. The old Toronto FD has lots of them. A rough ride, but a GREAT truck!

  • @46fd04 Ah, VERY nice! I agree.

  • This city needs opti coms on its rigs by 3M. This technology has been around for over 25 years. It turns the red lights green in intersections.

  • Will never happen. Toronto's too big and it would cost millions. Easier and cheaper for us to stop at red lights.

  • Thanks!

  • @46fd04 and safer for motorists. Everyone seems to forget about them in the big fireman/police officer "I'm a hero!" circle-jerk.

  • This city needs opti-coms on its fire apparatus by 3M. It turns the red lights green when responding code 3 at lighted intersections. This technology has been around for over 25 years.

  • oh so heavy rescue r called squads in Toronto?

  • Yes. A Heavy Rescue is called a Squad.

A medium Rescue is a Rescue Pumper; on top of it's regular Pumper role, it serves as a RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) truck, and an Auto Extrication truck.

  • Rescue3 was one of 3 Heavy Rescues in the old Toronto Fire Dept After amalgamation in 1998 the new Toronto Fire Services downsized from 11 to 5 Heavy Rescues now called Squads

  • yes it was?

  • Is that a Heavy rescue ur driving? reply

  • Read the video's description

  • the guy opn the sirens had no clue what he was doing he was just having fun

  • what a waste of time that was no fire or was that a demo on how calls are done?

  • Real call, read the info I provided. I worked on a Rescue truck, we were sent for a possible extrication. The first two trucks arrived, found the driver who struck the house was dead, and cleared our truck. No extrication was necessary.

  • OK sorry about that but seam to be van was going faster then U anyhow I use to live near the TO fire hall by Albian and Rexdale area by Albian mall does that sound from milliour I was neer police 22 division. I collect fire stuff any way u can help?

  • Fire Trucks are larger and heavier then your standard chief van or small support vehicle. They take longer to get up to speed, and longer to come to a stop... So yeah, of course a small van will get there first :)

  • It is standard for dispatch to send many trucks to a scene, only to have to call off some trucks en-route or once they arrive, because they are not needed. But when you get a call, it is hard to judge what is needed until the fire crews get on scene. Usually the first in truck or officer will make a judgment call to cancel other trucks or keep them coming.

  • Fire trucks are larger and heavier then a van. Thus they take longer to get to a scene.

  • I'm a firefighter for 8 years at Horta, Faial island in Azores and i've been driving firetrucks since then! They don't compare to the size and spectularity of yours but it gives me so much adrenaline driving them!! Great video!! :-)

  • how much is the fine now if you dont pull over for ems and police and fire I seen alot ignore you on the show

  • It might not be just a fine. If you hinder the response of Fire/EMS to a call where a life is lost which could've been saved, you are hit with manslaughter.

Think as if they were responding to you or your family, react how you'd want others to react as they respond to your emergency.

  • near the start, lol SO MUCH FOR MY TEA...lmao

  • That's me driving, and yes, I was just sitting down with a cup of tea when we got that call.

  • i work in the city of vaughan fire department it's right beside toronto i work at the one i believe islington ave, and highway 7 or something i just started so i dont know alot

  • LOL i saw 2 firetrucks yest block this lady in who parked near a hydrant in downtown. shes comes back and her car is trapped lmao it was too funny.

  • Wow, 2000 I thought the city was amalgamated then?

  • TORONTO HAS THE BEST FIRE DEPT!

  • @MrSpike416 F-D-N-Y

  • I was going to slam the Ambulance crew for not moving for you guys at the 3:02 mark.. But, then realized you guys are only using a single 100 watt siren speaker and coming out of the sun. A nasty combination while running hot! Nice video!!

  • That and there was a vehicle next to it.

  • UN TAN UN TAN UN TAN MOE MOE KYUN

  • Wow! I can't believe how many idiots are on the road! These guys had to dodge like 20 cars!

  • @clubsoda69 they feel the fire trucks should get out of their way

  • Can't believe the idiot at 2:09 just continued though, didn't even yield.

  • Very interesting video, I must congratulate whom so ever was driving. Who taught him to drive I ask myself? Evel Knievel?

  • This is what I love most about this job.. Driving down the street in this big rig and the traffic moving out of your way... Love the air horn I think more then the sirens. If I ever get in the officer seat, I swear I will drain the air brakes with the horn LOL.. keep up the great work.

    Jeremy from Halifax Fire Department

  • There are no fire signals at this Hall (Toronto Hall 134 near Yonge & Eglinton).

This Hall is setback from the street and is partially blocked by a building next door. On a bright sunny morning, it can be difficult for drivers to see us exiting the Hall.

No, we do not crash them out of the way. That was just me thinking out loud. There are times I wish we could LOL

  • correct me if I am wrong but did a suv or van like vehicle not just about crash into this vehicle?

to me the guy in the civilian car made a stupid move he must of seen the Fire van pull out seconds before you

    sorry I am just asking

  • It wasn't that close. If you look closely, the minivan did pull over & stop immediately afterward. We passed it just before the stop sign. I no longer work at this location, but I'm sure it still happens there everyday. There are vehicles who don't stop for us as we exit the Station, and then continue to get in our way until our "well trained" drivers aggresively move them out of the way.

If they don't move out of the way, we crash them out of the way LOL

  • I guess your right it was not that close really still seemed out that the van would go through like that just after a Fire van pulled out with lights going and it would be pretty obvious this vehicle was coming out too do they not have a fire station signal?

Also do they actually crash them out of the way?

  • needs a q

  • pretty nice everytime i see an police car ambulance fire truck i always want to follow them to there emergency

  • Neato, my dad's been on the trucks for a good 15 years, I think at the time this video was taken he was leading HUSAR.

  • Toronto HUSAR (Fire Dept portion) was started by Al T., who, because of seniority & politics, was tossed from the team.

Anither excellent Firefighter (Geoff B.) was also instrumental in getting HUSAR & RIT up & running, and yet was not allowed on HUSAR due to seniority (another waste of experience & resources).

PM me and tell me your Dad's name & where he works.

I'll then PM you my name & workplace.

  • Sorry I am also curious. Just had to say something too about your dad. If its who I think it is your dad trained me on the fire grounds. Is his intials T.C.

  • Nope, AMT

  • great video... it's too bad about the ultimatum TFS passed in regards to posting response clips.

keep up the great work if you can, but don't risk suspension for it! LOL

  • that first interesection they busted had so many stupid drivers. and the driver of the firetruck used that horn good.

  • ok were can i watch more of these old tdf movies plzz tell me i want the link plzz and plzz get some more plzz tell me were i can watch more videos of these

  • Read my comment from 3 months ago.

I can't post anymore because myself and others are easily identified.

I've been told that I will be suspended if Toronto Fire response videos are posted on YouTube.

This video does identify me if any TFD personnel who know me sees it.

I left this one posted to test the waters. So far, haven't heard from anyone about it.

There are a couple of others from 2006 that I might upload.

  • is it true that if an applicant needs to wear contact lenses that they will not be considered for recruitment? please write back...

  • I have no idea. You will have to ask the FD you are interested in applying with.

  • What was the Captain doing with the siren when the horns were blowing?

  • When you pressed the toggle switch down, the electronic air horn would work.

Kind of pointless because the horns were over-riding the electronic siren and horn.

  • Very Nice. what Model is the truck there riding in?

  • It is a 1988 (approx) Mack truck. The air horns on it are not original horns. We had them replaced with the much louder Grover Emergency Air horns, which are on most fire trucks built today. They are louder than the sirens and move traffic.

The old Toronto FD purchased a number of Mack trucks using them as Pumpers, Aerials and Heavy Squads.

They weren't the most comfortable truck to drive, and most had no A/C, but they were heavy-duty, well built trucks that rarely ended up in the shop.

  • That's what I thought it was. I Love Those Mack Fire Trucks.

  • Also, this truck is still in use as a spare vehicle with the Toronto Fire Service. It replaces our Heavy Squads or the Highrise truck when they are out for service or repairs.

  • I Think it's Cool that Toronto Fire Still has them in use. It's to bad that alot Fire departments are getting rid of there Macks because they say there to slow.

  • even in canada no one gives a crap if the fire department are on a call and still cross in front of them thats how they get hurt or die when they hit one of the cars

  • this is 2000 now it change a lot. depending on area. If it's Jane-Finch u r dead but others should be ok

  • Great Video......One of the Best!!!

  • plzz post some vmore old toronto fire videos plzzzz

  • great video!

  • Idiot of car Driver at 2:11 ,drive over the crossing so that the Firetruck must stop....

  • Just wondering is this vid pre-amalgamation becuase I swear I could here pump 29 to toronto fire over the radio.

  • Yes & no. The amalgamation of the former 6 Cities of Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, York, & East York occurred Jan.1, 1998.

However, it wasn't until June 2001 that the Halls & trucks were renumbered.

Therefore, old TFD trucks like P29 & RS3 were still in service with their old numbers.

This video shot Apr 26 2000

  • OOPS! I just deleted the last question by accident.

This truck is old Rescue 3 out of Yonge & Eglinton.

  • Would that be station 313 now???

  • 134 old Toronto 28

  • that was pretty cool...thanks

  • That's really too bad. The videos with the train horn were just priceless.

  • Unfortunately I can't right now. L3888 (Toronto Professional Firefigfhters Ass'n) has advised that I would be suspended without pay unless I removed the videos.

I have left this one on because no one can be identified.

  • You can censor the names somehow, i think. What is it with fire departments getting so pissy about fire videos lately?

  • liability

  • plz post some more old tfd videos i love them plzzzz
