just bought a go pro hero (hasnt come down yet).... does it playback in slow mo if you've set it to record like that, or have you done that in the editing process? cheers

@dannyrichardson84 The GoPro can shoot at 60 frames per second, so when you conform it to 30 frames a second(slow it down 50%) It plays at 30 frames a second, therefor giving you really smooth slo mo

So yes, to get the slo mo you shoot in R3 mode and slow it 50% in your editing program
