I am sure there were some blues leads there, but if you listen carefully, you'll find some harmonic minor leads as well as some minor arpeggios and aeolian mode leads. The chord changes are very simple, Dmin7 to A7, so there is not much more you can use over this changes that would sound cool and latin, I guess you could use mixolydian over the A7 but it is present there when playing aeolian over Dmin7. I am sure you have some more ideas of what to play over this changes.
