beautiful collection, something that should be kept as a historical monument of times well lost. But I wouldn't mind having just one tiny diamond of my own, come on they have so many...lol
GREED is all it is, the Russian people should ALL own a piece of jewelry from this collection, after all it is there ancestors who really paid for all this!!
@freedomseaker1 actually when these treasures were used they were accumulated for 200 years. Most of these are actually gifts from other regimes. There was once upon a time when Russia was a monarchy more brilliant than Britain. Unfortunately Russia now is not even a shadow of what it once was.
Seems sad people starved while these jewels were available.. I suppose the Czar, being a demi god, and his family, were expected to have these to show the world they were representatives of the greatest realm ever.. Still, allowing people of your homeland to freeze and starve while you have loose diamonds by the hundreds available seems wrong... They had plenty.
I've been there. Magnificent. Only at that day of my visit (just an ordinary day) they didn't let Russian citizents enter the exhibition (due to popularity....foreigners pay more money to see the exhibition). I only could go in because I accompanied a foreigner.
Respond to this video... yeah I can only imagine how grandeur was their lives during the Romanov dynasty, until the Bolsheviks destroyed everything including Russia.
if only.....

В описании упоминается брильянт Шаха. Этот дипломат не кто иной как Грибоедов.

I thought it's very unfair.
