I moved to Milwaukee in 1985, adn we could get 32 on our tv here. I used to watch the cartoons, but my realy favorite thing on WFLD was those old reruns of the Chicago-based gangster show THE UNTOUCHABLES! I was addicted. I'd dress up in a sport coat and run around with a toy gun waiting for the show to come on! Total dork g-man. The show was on at midnigfht, so I had to wait until it wasn't a school night to see it. Huge treat., Yeah, old school regional tv was cool. Nothing like it now
You wouldn't happen to have the commercial leading up to the "Superstars" promotion where WFLD commissioned iron-on transfers for He-Man, She-Ra, Go Bots, and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors? I remember the commercial having one of those completely dreadful 80's era rap songs.
@BadIdeaSociety "September 22nd in the Sunday paper...CHECK IT!
Iron on transfers, just for you!
From your friends at 32!
She-Ra, Thundercats, Go-Bots, Jayce!
Watch and wear, put a smile on your face!"
I was at that age where I just accidentally memorized crap I heard on tv! Totally remember that song. Adn the commerical had two kids dressed as parents while they said "Have mom or dad give you a helping hand" because, after all, you don't want 7 year olds ironing their hand!
I think all of the Fox owned stations would be better off using more localism than patterning themselves after the Fox News Channel with their graphics and logos.
I'm on a nostalgia kick this morning. :) 32 used to be so cool back then, man! I always had to leave for school when Wheel Warriors came on, sadly.

Every channel that affiliated with Fox broadcasting became shitty.

I liked it better when they used their station number 32 than just Fox Chicago.

Same here, It was the middle of 1986 when you would slowly start to see FOX being shown on the call sign
