I saw him live at Kean College, in Union NJ. He performed the first part of the program on the Lute, which was really unforgettable and sublime! I am quite fortunate, as I also saw Christopher Parkening live, as well
I love how he gives himself/his twin visual cues and even a couple dirty looks! hahaha...his book, "A life on the road" is fantastic, entertaining and funny.
oh my god..if i did not realize at first they are not same person and it is not a video technique i would believe julian bream has a twin:)....excellent.. i always admire this type of guitarist, the real artists....
magnificent Bream: How he enjoys this self-counterpoint! Sure it's not easy to show simultaneously a sense of humour, a superb technique and a strong feeling and empathy for this Spanish fandango. And in praise of Boccherini: he was a refined court composer, but sensitive in an exquiste way to the popular music of his adopted country of the time.
Absolutely superb! This is just another reason why Bream is the master, his humour and feeling is what transforms his musicianship from technical excellent to art
first thing i noticed. that in itself is little short of brilliant. Look at all the 'looks' he gives the 'other play' all the physical cues he gives to 'keep the other player synchronized'.
Bream for me is the greates interpreter of classical guitar. His dinamics, colours , crecendo ...everything is right where it has to be in order to reach perfection....Long live Bream!
