LOL, yes i did graduate,sorry bout the spelling.. i meant to type competetors ??anyways im not a genius im a PAINTER, LOL .my thing is this,,, if i spend a few hours at someones house doing the front doors, garage doors, and try and charge over 1k , i mean, thats highway robbery, thats y they drag the job out many unecessary layers of paint on the door along with taking a few days to do the job. thats not good for the door to overlay it with many loads of paint in a couple days time....

Thanks for not ripping people off. Nice work...I called a faux painting lady who had an ad in a local home magazine, focusing mainly on garage doors in her ad. She wanted over $1,000 to do a 2 car garage door. This is in Las Vegas, NV. What a gyp.

RIGHT, THE OILS ARE WHAT CRACKS, YOU PAINT YOUR EXTERIOR BODY OF THE HOUSE WITH WHAT? NOT OIL, ITS ALWAYS LATEX EXTERIOR HOUSE PAINT, so doesnt it make sense that u use a LATEX EXTERIOR CLEAR barrier on the top of the final finish? its your BARRIER. go to benj moore, they now JUST CAME OUT WITH A BRAND NEW PRODUCT FOR THE DOORS made by old masters, called SPAR LATEX EXTERIOR CLEAR VARNISH its for the doors, even they are on board now, the main supplier of the product we use.

UV causes fading. Being hard and not able to expand and contract is the chipping and cracking.

im jealous of the money your making, i work every day and dont get that kind of money. listen, ZAR BRAND EXTERIOR CLEAR SEALER , its EXTREME HIGH UV PROTECTANT , and its LATEX, it is water based, it wont and cant CRACK, because its NOT OIL BASED. u dont learn this in school, u learn by experience.

its just common sense, you put a barrier on the door, one that is uv (thus called EXTERIOR ON THE CAN), AND , ITS WATER BASED (wont crack in the sun like oil will). KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Thanks for the....lets just call it, "advice". There is no clear coat in this world that can stand up to south florida sun and weather. Me and my bro was in Palm City today redoing a Fine Lion 2009 oil based faded crack-fest. Heavy prep, 9 hours, $2200.00. I kinra hate it that I've been in it for 16 years but thats how it goes.

lol, you dont use oil based sealer, IT CRACKS IN THE SUN, if you really want to learn how to do the doors, just go to a faux school, its worth spending the money to do the job right, i cant tell you how to do the doors, but i wish you the best of luck.

ive had good luck because i tell them what product i used and the color and where to get it for any issues and how to touch up any areas they dont like, my price is so low, they are embarassed to call me for something like a touch up spot, and i explain to them the sealer they shoud use, its all u have to do is be open and honest with people and they really do appreciate it. keep it simple. this painting technique is not rocket science, its very basic.
