@Frank15982 Unfortunately, convicts get an infinite opportunity for appeal. Appeals process should exist (in almost all instances), but there needs to be a limitation. It is only in rare instances that a person is not factually responsible for murder(s), which they have been sentenced to die for. And extremely rare where, for example, when X amount of appeals cannot reveal their innocence. In my mind, we must be willing to accept that such mistakes will rarely happen.

On one hand the DP deters criminals, and is just punishment, on the other hand, it's hard not to empathize with a person who's life is going to be taken away (even if that person is a murderer). We waste far too many resources making excuses for and prolonging the lives of these animals who have no place in life. We need to become more proactive in refusing to make drug addiction a disability and coming up with bizarre defences for every felon who commits a horrible crime. On one hand the DP deters criminals, and is just punishment, on the other hand, it's hard not to empathize with a person who's life is going to be taken away (even if that person is a murderer). It's a battle that those on death row cannot understand, as their actions were not influenced by any sense of morality.

People have the ability to change throughout life, and people DO change throughout their life. sometimes people need a second chance, even if they didnt deserve the first. Maybe not this person exactly, but maybe the next inmate, or the next after that will deserve it. Death is far more serious than you paint here.

We waste far too many resources making excuses for and prolonging the lives of these animals who have no place in life. We need to become more proactive in refusing to make drug addiction a disability and coming up with bizarre defences for every felon who commits a horrible crime. We make it far too easy in this country for people to be disfunctional, instead of working and being productive members of society. We need to shorten the appeals process and have justice be swift.

I worked in law, even a doctor will tell you his physiological separation excuse is crap many criminals try to use it to plea insanity and it never holds up in court because its without merit.
