  • i feel sorry for that poor F/A 18

  • i feel sorry for that sea-hawk sitting at the front of the carrier, getting splashed by a ton of water...

  • That's ok just leave that 40 million dollar plans sit on the deck.. we have all kinds of money

  • can planes take off in this kind of conditions? What are procedures? Because if planes are unable to take off, then is it just sitting duck for any submarine?

  • @bmwodessa1 Carriers have submarines, cruisers, and destroyer escorts, so they would be the ones to take care of enemy submarines, besides, aerial anti-submarine warfare is mostly the work of helicopters. :)

  • who ever parked their helicopter up front u better have a ride hom. hahah

  • Why WHY would you name a proud new carrier after the moron George W Bush?????. America have some dignity. I bet their are some old navy tug boats that would be better suited than a carrier.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 i dont know which bush you're talking about but it was named after bush senior not the recent president

  • I served aboard her durring the Viet war. This storm reminds me of the Typhoon we encountered in 1966. She was a good carrier with a well trained crew. Served under Capt Carmondy (now deceased) and then Capt Pugh (now a retired admiral) Loved the ship kicking myself for not reup enlistment

  • just a few minor waves :)

  • wonder if the helicopter lived

  • WOW !! Thats My Old Ship With cag 15 and VAW114 1980-1981

  • we must build them BIGGER :D

  • @cr9527 We have and are :) The CV-63 (Kitty Hawk) was about 80,000 tons of displacement. The Enterprise (USS Enterprise CVN-65) and Nimitz class (10 carriers CVN-68 to 77) displace over 90,000, the Gerald R. Ford class (CVN-78 to 80) will displace 100,000. Deck length also increasing from just over 1,000 feet to about 1,100. Corresponding tech advancements also such as better reactors, weapons systems, radar, etc. The Kitty Hawk for example was not even nuclear powered.

  • fuuu. huge waves.

  • ......Bob,.... did you remember to tie down the helicopter?

  • Ha, an aircraft carrier has windshield wipers.

  • @shifty2757 and whys that funny?

  • @Marshallnd It just is, it's my sense of humor. Don't judge it.

  • @shifty2757 right...

  • @Marshallnd Well its not like the first thing you think of when you think of an aircraft carrier is it having windshield wipers. Come on now...have a sense of humor.

  • @shifty2757 firts things i think of when i think of an aircraft carrier are aircrafts and water, rain = water, rain - windshield (wipers).... i have a sense of humor, yours is just dumb

  • @Marshallnd I think you just like making an ass out of yourself and being a douche bag to random people on Youtube because you have nothing better to do. Your first comment was unnecessary, as was your second and third and the next (which I'm sure will come) will be completely pointless which will thus lead to me ignoring it. Go be a dick head somewhere else.

  • @shifty2757 you have been trolled. and that giant paragraph of a comeback has left me not even mad, for it, you are awarded no points, may god have mercy on your soul.

  • with huge waves like that could the aircraft carrier break? stupid question but i dunno honestly, i heard latest high tech carriers can withstand tsunami/ typhoon waves. and there nuclear reactors let them stay out at sea for 25 years at a time how to they resply food tho?

  • @garyU6969 they go to shore to get food but the reactor means no refueling.

  • those must be some HUGE WAVES!

  • What is sitting out front on the deck? It looks like a Sea Hawk but that seems like the worst place to put an aircraft in high seas.

  • maybe the weather came on them too fast to get everything off the deck

  • I agree, looks like a Sea Hawk. I also feel worried about that F/A-18C Hornet.

    Get those aircraft below deck!

  • @XStormfalconX Dont worry, everything is tight up onto the deck every single moment.

You dont know what the sea does, so you always have to!(exept when you take off ofcourse)

And those planes are strong enough!

  • Yeah, the Kitty Hawk is still on 2 year contract commission...She's not out yet!!!!

  • The Kitty Hawk wasn't replaced by the USS George H W Bush.
