Hey guys I love In Flames and posted them on my Facebook page called "New Metal, Metalcore, and Deathcore bands/Songs Every Day"a while ago. Just stumbled over this, i totally forgot i have the album (along with all the other ones) in my car. Nevertheless, god this song, this band, their albums and everything else about them is pure awesomeness itself. If you say old In Flames is crap, then listen to swim. That track rocks!

the CD cover is amazing. So many hidden messages... I think the bird as it's symbol represents freedom but you have to choose your paths carefully because time doesnt go back (look at the clock and it's numbers), wrong choices can take you to your grave (bird is blind, its a symbol of reckless choices). At another picture bird holds broken hourglass with blood inside pouring out (its a symbol of your wasted life running out like blood from your veins)

@NAUGHTON96 I've been into metal since 2 last decades, so Ive heard a bunch. This band started setting melody into bruteness. They always have done it pretty nice, but they CANT sound the same way ALWAYS. So like u or me. they grew up, becoming prettier for ones, uglier for others. I think Come Clarity is a good song. I think Take This Life is a good song. I also think Where the Dead Ships Dwell is a good song, as well as The Attic. Yet, none of those sound the fucking same.
But they all sound good. Sure, they don't sound like, say, "Dead God in Me" but that doesn't mean they aren't good. If you people were mature, you'd realize the difference between your preference and a good song.
Go listen to Dark Tranquility if the butthurt is too much to bear.
But in flames still retains their traditional sound and playing style in between each song. Sure they're...going for the kiddie fanbase now, which is something horrible :\

But all in all? This album doesn't suck as bad as soundtrack to your escape. And change is good, this might not be the metalness that colony brought, but it's just a modern rock version now.

In Flames started dying during "Reroute to Remain" and have only gotten worse since then. This has to be the worst stuff they've put out yet.
This song sounds great. For me, it's as simple as that. Plenty of bands morph and change over time. Shoot, Maynard was TOOL and then created APC.. a totally different sound. But I love them both.

Now i love all their older stuff but I welcomed this change, In Flames have always had a gift for melody and what sums this song up is the riff is like something you'd hear in their older music yet they mix that with a ballad like sound, and it works great. Very memorable and nice to hear Anders sing, I also have a feeling this might somewhat be dedicated to Jesper. And what a nice finishing touch to the album I must say well done In Flames.

This and The Puzzle are probably my favorite off the album, which I think is incredibly damn good. Even if I didn't like their new sound, I could still just listen to the old albums ;p

It’s an Ordinary Story about a Clayman who was playing an Acoustic Melody for his F(r)iend who was a Man Made God. He was sucked into a Vacuum through a Vanashing Light when he offered the gods to Take This Life. Inside this Quiet Place were Satellites and Astronauts who were Cloud Connected. He was a Drifter, Everlost in Dialog With The Stars and felt Disconnected from a World Of Promises. He felt Condemned and was willing to Crawl Through Knives to see a Dawn Of A new Day.
I know the reason people likes this song. It's like when you listen to something like Katy Perry or another popmusician in the radio, you some times hear a melody, which you love, but you wont admit it, because it's pop. Now this is kinda modern in the sound, but it is also metal, therefore you can proudly stand up and say, "Hey I like this metalsong, even though its modern in the sound."
In Flames realized their music was entirely godly, but the only people who listened to it were people already introduced to metal. So in an attempt to overtake the world in glorious Metal decided through the course of several albums would soften their sound, that way people would discover them easier. Then as their fame became monumental and half the new listeners fell in love with their old music, they released an epic album topping everything before it. Melting thousands of more faces. IFWT
I like all music, so the changes in flames have gone through hasn't been a big deal to me. I love their old stuff and their new stuff. The people bitching are just closed minded if you ask me.

Okey, this is sick! I've listened to the album through my computer speakers, pretty good ones. And I have thought to myself, well, this is nothing special. The point came today, I bought the CD, and put it into my big Canton hifisystem. Sat down in the sofa, and.......bam. I sat quite during the whole album, for about 40 minutes. Didn't moved. This was something special. Genious! Every single detail approached. So everyone, until you've heard it with real sound, don't comment! In Flames rules!!!
the first time i listened to this i thought: what a crap! it doesen't fitted in the album in any way...! but after listening to it five times i recognized the message and it started making me a positive mind... now i have to say that this song is just awesome!!!
Most In Flames fans keep whining that In Flames keep changing with every new album. They say this is a bad thing. Think of In Flames as a book. Every new album is a new chapter. If EVERY chapter sounded exactly like chapter 1 or 2, wouldn't it be a boring ass book? The way it is now, if you like a certain chapter, just go back and listen to it. Enjoy the evolution that is IN FLAMES!

Now i love all their older stuff but I welcomed this change, In Flames have always had a gift for melody and what sums this song up is the riff is like something you'd hear in their older music yet they mix that with a ballad like sound, and it works great. Very memorable and nice to hear Anders sing, I also have a feeling this might somewhat be dedicated to Jesper. And what a nice finishing touch to the album I must say well done In Flames.

@gnfnrs87 i also love their old stuff and i a also welcome change, as long as they dont get rid of what made them stand apart. that being said i really dislike this song and cd, like i posted below i wouldnt go as far as to say the cd sucks, its just not what i as expecting nor is it my sound, its way to mainstreamish(meaning it lost the gritty wildness).THIS song however is just crap in my book, this being MY opinion only i just dislike this one, it doesnt sound like inflames at all, just bad

I know the reason people likes this song. It's like when you listen to something like Katy Perry or another popmusician in the radio, you some times hear a melody, which you love, but you wont admit it, because it's pop. Now this is kinda modern in the sound, but it is also metal, therefore you can proudly stand up and say, "Hey I like this metalsong, even though its modern in the sound."

In Flames realized their music was entirely godly, but the only people who listened to it were people already introduced to metal. So in an attempt to overtake the world in glorious Metal decided through the course of several albums would soften their sound, that way people would discover them easier. Then as their fame became monumental and half the new listeners fell in love with their old music, they released an epic album topping everything before it. Melting thousands of more faces. IFWT

Okey, this is sick! I've listened to the album through my computer speakers, pretty good ones. And I have thought to myself, well, this is nothing special. The point came today, I bought the CD, and put it into my big Canton hifisystem. Sat down in the sofa, and.......bam. I sat quite during the whole album, for about 40 minutes. Didn't moved. This was something special. Genious! Every single detail approached. So everyone, until you've heard it with real sound, don't comment! In Flames rules!!!

Most In Flames fans keep whining that In Flames keep changing with every new album. They say this is a bad thing. Think of In Flames as a book. Every new album is a new chapter. If EVERY chapter sounded exactly like chapter 1 or 2, wouldn't it be a boring ass book? The way it is now, if you like a certain chapter, just go back and listen to it. Enjoy the evolution that is IN FLAMES!
