Fun commercial!! I could EASILY see myself doing this! My passengers would be my high school aged son and his friend though. I pull up, get out, let my son get in the driver's seat with me as co-pilot, his friend could probably fit in the back seat. We would ALL get a charge out of that, considering he already has girls from every direction saying hi to him in the car I drive now! He wants to learn to drive a manual car anyway. PORSCHE!!
I own an 80s 911 and a 944,and have generally noticed that people driving older Porsches are more enthusiastic about the brand than the ones that drive brand new, leased models and have little clue about what it is, apart from boasting about their $2000 monthly payment.
@automoves haha I agree i'm fifteen and bought an 2002 Porsche boxster. It is guards red and has a tiptronic s transmission I have dreamed of owning one since I was 3 years old at an ice cream place and a 911 pulled in next to a lamborghini all the kids ran to the lamborghini, me well i ran to the porsche.
The second driver bought that fertilizer or whatever it is just to add weight for his nose for insurance when he goes on his "spirited" mountain drive. Oh wait, he's a rich yuppie. Nevermiiiiiiind.
I love this commercial. Basically saying, 'you don't have an excuse'. Notice the target customers...two thirty year old moms, and two 45-60 year old guys.
@MegaThunder70 I bought one for $80k years ago, and one recently for $29k. And the one I just bought is better. Older, sure, but better in every respect, and only 50k miles. Check eBay. You can get a 911 for less than the price of a new Toyota and it will add significantly more happiness. Unlike Ferrari, Porsche makes daily drivers. Well maintained, they will last as long as a Toyota. And it's like owning your own amusement park. ;)
@BasketballBiggy25 Cheaper used 911s are all over the place for less than $30k. I found one with 50k miles, a supercharger, racing seats and carbon fiber trim for $29k. Arguably the greatest expenditure of $29k the world has ever witnessed. :) Life is short, drive fast.
Isn't this add a bit racist? wouldn't it have been more adequate that the mom were black? Probably unreal but still politically correct (everybody knows that Afro-Americans don't like foreign cars so a black mom would probably drive a Dodge Viper or a Chevy Corvette instead).
@SniperWill I sold my S500 Benz (hated everything about that junky land yacht) and upgraded to a loaded (albeit used) 911. Best thing I've done in a long while. Mercedes are for elderly golfers, and poorly made these days to boot. The 911 is a barely-street-legal work of art.
@CompanieREP Ha, I just picked one up for exactly $29k myself. Had one a few years back, never got over it and reacquired one (this one supercharged to 450 snarling HP). It's like a religious experience, isn't it? Until you've owned one, you can't really understand how it's possible to love a car. Every trip to the store a visceral adventure. The 911 is what God intended a car to be. ;)
a yellow 911 turbo for school bus....i guess the mom would make her child almost late everyday just so she got the reason to press the throttle deeper
I like it when the office worker gets in his car after a long days work, and the sound and dash of the porsche lights up his face. Thats what every sports car should do.
Engineered for the well-to-do and the occasional "enthusiast" that only drives it 1000 miles a year. I would really love to see a guy roll up to a Home Depot and throw a bunch of yard shit in the nose of his Porsche and have it not be a joke. Also, no soccer-mom type woman drives a 911 Turbo. She drives a base model Cayenne and gives maybe an eighth of a crap about the car as the woman in the ad. Get your stereotypes right, Porsche! At least the tubby, balding guy was an accurate portrayal.
@fleecejohnson - ...and do you really think that some uneducated, truck driving redneck would write something that in depth? Please. Their response would be full of nonsensical talk about how sports cars are for fags and that we should vote for Michelle Bachmann, because she too would vote Jesus. Take a good, hard look around you at the common Porsche owner. They're generally rich, non-enthusiast car owners that bought a Porsche as a status symbol just because they could. True story.
@DaedalusZero A fair point, I'll give you. I just hate that stereotype, because many of us owners are, in fact, true enthusiasts and aren't rich republicans. Personally I wouldn't give Michelle Bachman a glass of water if she was on fire. ;) I bought my Porsche 4th hand for less than $30k. And it's a 450HP object of pure lust. My heart beats quicker every time I turn the key. I wish more people realized you don't need $100k to experience one of the greatest cars on the road.
@DaedalusZero That 911 Turbo driver is my wife. She not only daily drives a speed yellow Boxster 10K+ a year, but she regularly takes it to pick up sod and supplies at the hardware store. She is absolutely an enthusiast (her first car was a Mach 1 Mustang she restored from parts) and could probably out drive you.
I don't think I'd want that much weight on the front of my Cayman. If I need a pickup to haul builing supplies I'll take a pickup to the building supply store.
@Farbeyondhell I did it in Great Falls Montana and my children loved it!! It had snowed ALOT, we were the first to arrive at church and my children LOVED being spun in circles from the back row all the way to the front row & without hitting any parking pillars! At the end of the ride my children were all smiles and laughing, my wife was sitting there looking at me with a smile asking me "is the ride over yet?" Rear engine mounted, rear wheel drive, YOU BET!! :) Just gotta know what ur doin'!
@BIoodshead I would have to disagree, Ferrari is a car that is way more out of your budget. This, this is attainable for any REAL car enthusiast that would save and invest properly. These cars are cheap for the performance that they dish out in my opinion. Porsche runs up against top car companies in the world and most of there models are $500,000 - $100,000 cheaper.
Lol! The white woman has got 2 kids and that one is black? Or it's just a friend of another one?
