why do the back bead first??,loosen the tyre on the front(i.e. remove ring(s) and back bead will just pop off if rim maintianed well, but still its a duck each to their own,i like to get the fucker b4 the fucker gets me,respect to the 8 wheeled widowmaker!!TYREFIX UK!! :-)
the most dangerous wheels where the old suicide rim they used to lock together and were inflated on the vehicle cause there's no way to check if they locked together correctly.fortunately they stopped using these type of wheels in the late 70's
@donandroz these are quite similar as they have to be inflated after wheel nuts have been torqued and each one done in stages so not to put undue pressure on the other. don't know why the couldn't just fit longer studs
the company i worked for then lost a lad not long before this video was taken, the guy undid the wheel nuts without releasing the pressure in the tyres against the brick guard
. when the last nut came off both wheels hit him full force and killed him outright.
i use a buffer on a tube and thats how ur surpose to do it!! also this bullshit about tyre cages and 'bag its' is a joke bcos u can blot it on a blow it up and thats allowed. loving the angle iron :-P
@urbtree well said mate, if you finish inflating it on the machine the lockring can't blow out anyway - who the fuck are osha - sound like dickheads !
@ace586 Wouldn't it be kind of hard to use the cage, especially when the guy is fixing the tire in the field. I'd say that most people don't have a cage handy while in the field, maybe I'm wrong.
@surrynet there is a product on the market that is similar to a seat belt, its like a harness you place it over the tyre, inflate it and then take it off, if the lock ring does come off the harness stops it from flying off.
man people need to lay off the H&S bull, if u had to do it by the book u would be there for hours!!! no tyre fitter uses a bag it(never been opened) and ur well within ur right to bolt it on and blow it up. So these guys who are H&S mad do u leave it in the cage for 30-45 min after u blown it up like ur surpose to? no didnt think so
did you check that tyre for a nail or screw after you mended the innertube and all so you should of had a bout 15 to 20 psi in that split rim and checked plus use a safety cage like an H FRAME so it doesent take your head off and why not use a henchmen insted of breaking the beed with that bit steel
the bead bread breakerz r uzed 4 differant purposes!mayby itsa new rig.dnt wana b da 1 2 1st scar da rim!quality.pity no cage but i bakup dis fello tyre technician
and far too much time on your hand mate i mean really get a life. your cock must be tinyif you have to get your kicks from rippin on other ppls vids. i mean how much time can picking up a block take or is it that you cant bend over cos you been arse raped so much.
i bring you to my original point,.post your own vids if your so quick show the world how good you really are. or stop talking shit
Did you check inside of this tire to see if there is a nail or something else? What was the cause of failure? LOLO. Sounds like it needs to be redone tomorrow. Hey that's Europe!
Geezus another hero. You say one of your people was killed with a split rim a while ago? Cages were in years ago for these dangerous rims, why aren't you forced to use one for your own safety? where are you some third world country? At least the day that one gets you it will be so quick you won't know about it.
I mean anyone with the guts to work on any form of split rims or multi-piece rim assemblies deserves respect. Keep it up man, by the time you're 30 you're gonna be crippled. But you'll be a fucking tough cripple :)
did you even mark sidewall of the tire where the valve is so you can find the injury inside the tire itself after you locate it on the tube? and for the love of god....get a bead breaker or something :P Slide bars work great for AG and Industrial if you dont have a bead axe or hydraulic bead breaker. Not a bad job all in all though. I get stuck with a lot of contracts using those interlocking rims or the deep lock rings "the widowmakers"
and anyone with the guts to work on them deserves respect
Good video , from a technical side , you should not blow dry cements ( they skin dry and moisture in the breath reduces adhesion ) you need a bead breaker also lol..or like they say your vans gonna get dinged .. Now apart from safety cages etc etc. A very important point you missed was checking the tyre before refitting for A; the nail that made the puncture and B; Any runflat damage which could cause blow out on inflation. And wheres torque wrench ?
great vid .how many dints you got in new van then (with angle iron) i use a post knocker with a crow bar and a large socket to act as hammer action as a cheap bead breaker. wear gloves though .
i they do that, but i dont have a bead breaker so i use that. i see my boss maybe once a month so getting kit is hard work you just have to be wary and dont let any one stand in t way. much easier this way
these r the killers aye, kin u explain how that is??????
this is a 2 piece rim, safe as fukin houses mate, try a 5 piece rim, there the dodgy yins n its no the type of assembly thats the killer its the stupid fuckin cunts responsible for letin inexperienced fitters do jobs unsupervised
yeah done a few five peices in my time there ok if you watch what your doing.
one of our lads was killed a while. ever put it on fitted the tyre then inflated it and didnt notice the ring had workred loose. he should have been awake really but that doesnt help now
why do the back bead first??,loosen the tyre on the front(i.e. remove ring(s) and back bead will just pop off if rim maintianed well, but still its a duck each to their own,i like to get the fucker b4 the fucker gets me,respect to the 8 wheeled widowmaker!!TYREFIX UK!! :-)

@TheAdge31 we all know rims are never maintained that well though doing the front first means flipping it twice if no coming off easy.
FIX IT NOW FTW

never use a buffing tool on a tube. and you violated an osha regulation by not putting it in a cage during inflation
