  • I'm learning this song and I've watched about 10 interpretations and it's funny how where people choose to make the accents REALLY changes the entire feel of the song. Imma try to stay as traditional to tango as possible with mine.

  • don't like the phrasing.... doesn't seems to me like its flowing naturally, even when it's supposed to have that kind of feeling....

  • @daspidrr bit stiff. he has some diff. fingerings from dyens' score.

  • Great playing!

  • Cool guitar playing, well done!

  • @drummmarios chyba robert perejro sory roger

  • I LIKE IT!!! THE SOUND ITS VERY CLEAR ONE OF THE BESTS INTERPRETATIONS

  • THE ANNOTATIONS TURN OFF AND ON BUTTON IS SWEET!!!!

  • even better than Dyens. great sound great game

  • Fantastic! WHAT IS THE PLAYER'S NAME???

  • @KarloPero it's Lee Byung-woo

  • @guitarmagnet Thanks a lot.

  • Like your interpretation!

The leap at 0:15 is smooth;)

  • This is the only rendition i have heard, other than dyens, that actually sounds good and natural!

  • Super!!!!

  • What is the meaning of skai?

  • It sounds different with Roland Dyens

    but still great!! :D

  • Lee Byoung-Woo, famous guitarist in Korea. He's also a famous producer, engineer, OST composer.

  • wonderful performance.

  • WONDERFUL !!!! very great piece !

  • I can only hope that comosicus is joking!

Great playing! one of the best interpretations of this piece in youtube.

  • I love it. Great!

  • wow...great tango.I really love your feeling.

  • Hi !

You know, I sometimes pretend to be a guitarist, and I hope that I will soon play "Tango en Skaï". I am not qualified enough to tell you if you made mistakes, but what I can tell you is that the way you played that wonderful piece made me feel something very rare, and very nice : pleasure.

    B R A V O !

(I'm french, I don't speak a very good english, but I hope you understood what I meant)

  • @cyriljean3001 fuck you

  • I appreciate the fact that he takes his time to try to intrepret it rather than rush through it, like some do. Well done!!!

Can we see more of this guy's work?

  • Teh best Tango en skai!

  • manyaq bişi yaww süper süper superrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • i think you play it way better than the original, maybe that's just my ear but the notes are so organized and don't get sloppy

  • amazing ¡¡, i love your tone and your phrasing man, you got it going on, guys check my version too please rate/comment thanks

  • this is what I was looking for what I searched for "tango"

  • Wow, this is really astonishing guitar playing, I like it how you got those optives in perfectly!

  • Great Job! Im barely learning to play acoustic!

  • Amazing I just wish the recording was better cuz it get distorted when you play loud:( It was sooo amazing though:)

  • the arpeggios are flawless, oh how i dream to play that cleanly!

  • SOOO beautiful you nailed every not clearly and the dynamics are perfect awesome job:)

  • ^^ perfect!!! bravísimo!!!

  • evet cidden hoş mq

ulen mq o kadar mutsuzum ki

  • awesome!!

  • wooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool :)

  • yeah - i loved this one :D

  • Amazing work. Well played. I liked that it was a little slower.

  • very lively, great dynamics, one can hear the bandoneon at times. beautiful !

  • It's an excellent version but I prefer the perfect Kaori Muraji Version she's a god!

  • Fantastic! - I just love the temperament here - a

full-blooded and passionate rendering, just what a

    tango needs!

  • he plays calm.I think that Dyens plays i bit to faST

  • GRANDE RONALDO!!!!

  • jajajajaja! q wena!!!

  • Lee Byung Woo doesn't get enough recognition for his talents. He is clearly right up there amongst his competing contemporaries of best classical guitarists of our time.

  • normal

  • Best performance!!!

  • Distinctively punctuated rendition. Can't compare to Dyens'. Dyens has it straight-no-chaser, strictly conforming to tango rhythm, a version that could be heard at professional dance competitions. This version is different, it's like tequila with lime and salt, you can imagine ballet dancers performing to it with a tango quite different from the original dance.

  • I think this is the best rendition on youtube so far, better than even the one of Dyens himself IMO.

  • I agree - Dyens winner...

  • porfect

  • Sir,

    Wonderful!

  • Amazing! :)

  • en verdad siente la musica

  • A very clear sound - due to his excellent technique. A wonderful player. In adition to that - comments from users like curatica and "absolute"guitar should be excused from display. These comments are Worthless in the absence of displaying the same piece played by them. (And they might be boiling with envy too....)

  • I agree with Abs0lutGuitar. This piece needs to by played a tempo as Dyens requested, not because he requested so but because this is the fundamental character of a tango, as a dance piece. Velocity is another requirement which this performer doesn't seem to have, let alone the absence of those long and uninspired caesurae which compromise the tempo, completely. Among utubers and other musicians, Dyens is the one who plays his piece best (no surprise here).

  • this is a great interpretation..if everyone plays music exactly the way it was written, then it would be absolutely boring. we need to see more variations... techniques and rhythms. This guy played it well.

  • That was beautiful. very clean interpretation. I think Slava Grigoryan does the best interpretation however.

    Very very nice playing though.

  • BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO. A brilliant performance. I love the way you immerse into the piece.

  • coolt jag älskar den

  • amazing

  • it seems as if you didnt get my joke

  • anyone can play like that

  • Except you.... and millions of other people who dont practice many hours a day. Lets hear your version now. Well, we're waiting...

  • I do practice many hours a day, and I can tell you he is playing the completely wrong ACCORDING to how Dyens (the composer) wants it. Read the back of the sheet music. He specifically says don't f*ck with the rhythm.

  • dude...don't knock it...this is his interpretation - a pretty DAMN GOOD ONE i might say...i don't think Roland wouldn't mind this one at all...remember, music (especially when you perform it) is left to artistic discretion and interpretation --- BE EMOTIONAL, BE MUSICAL...and this musician SHOWS THAT...

  • I understand the idea of musicality, I'm just trying to give an honest opinion to what Mr. Dyens specifically wrote on the back of his published work, as well as what he has said on numerous occasions to those in masterclasses that have played this piece for him. I don't exactly agree that he wouldn't mind this interpretation, that's all.

  • the composer is Roland Dyens

  • marvelous!!

  • Great guitar playing! Can anybody tell me who the composer is? Thanks

  • It's wonderful. I'd like to see more of Lee ByungWoo's video

  • chekea como toco sur

  • BASS!

  • piazzola s tangos are much better !!

  • has a ceratin jazz feel...great!! but is he black or jap?

  • He is a Korean

  • um, well hes korean... you can tell by the korean writing, and his name

  • ya its was really good but his nails were too long

  • well... there´s no 'one an unbreakable rule' about nails size, it depends of guitarist self taste and discipline. I´ve heard great performances & known great guitarist with short, long nails and yes, no nails at all...

  • Great piece.great perfonmance

  • awesome, totally agree with redcabbagede. The best playing of roland´s tango i´ve heard

  • He is playing very nice and also very good recording :)

  • he´s the first one who plays it with the right feeling! Great!

I played the tango at a concert today. I will post it soon - but it doesn´t reach his quality!
