@ZETAclR18 Mayweather did not dance until the final 10 seconds, he reacts and gets out of the way of all incoming attacks, I like offensive fighters myself but Mayweather is THE BEST defensive fighter of all time hands down. @suppaman12 I have seen Whitiker fight both recently on here and back when he was p4p best, he was a great defensive fighter but unlike Mayweather he still took some clean shots, in this fight against a really good fighter Mayweather takes maybe two or three clean shots in the entire fight, I am a huge fan of Sweet Pea but I would have to give a pretty big edge in defensive skills to Floyd.

@svp2010 I actually thought the third fight in the Pac Vs Marquez fights was Mannys best performance of the three and I have him winning in all three fights. That being said Floyd was much more impressive in his win over Marquez but you could argue that Manny was more impressive in the Hatton fight and the De La Hoya fight.
The styles will clash and it seems to me that Floyd has a very slight edge, I change my mind on this fight quite often.

you have to take in to consideration this is mayweather's first fight in nearly two years - most fighters take a warm up to rid the ring rust and although jmm is a blown up 135pounder he was still a top p4p fighter and floyd handled him like he'd fought last week. pac had a lot more trouble with jmm at the same weight

@passdayak - yes. and no. i was being a little flippant in regards to pac - jmm was obviosly alot more comfortable and looked alot better, making that weight for the second time. but i think given the layoff floyd is incredible because regardless of how jmm handled this weight, fmj looked great. the thing with pac is he can't handle counter punchers, its why he's always avoided them .except jmm who is the rare mexican boxer who has a plan b - counter punch - and can as good as anyone

@suppaman12 I have seen Whitiker fight both recently on here and back when he was p4p best, he was a great defensive fighter but unlike Mayweather he still took some clean shots, in this fight against a really good fighter Mayweather takes maybe two or three clean shots in the entire fight, I am a huge fan of Sweet Pea but I would have to give a pretty big edge in defensive skills to Floyd.
People tend to give "their" generation of boxers more credit than the now boxers.

@svp2010 I actually thought the third fight in the Pac Vs Marquez fights was Mannys best performance of the three and I have him winning in all three fights. That being said Floyd was much more impressive in his win over Marquez but you could argue that Manny was more impressive in the Hatton fight and the De La Hoya fight.
The styles will clash and it seems to me that Floyd has a very slight edge, I change my mind on this fight quite often.

In my opinion, Mayweather had a better chance before Pacquiao v. JMM III. Why? Before fighting JMM, Pacquiao would have never had the hint that there is a style that he is critically weak against. Just so happened to be the same one that Mayweather uses. I'm pretty sure both Pacquiao and Roach said it, but post-JMM, they will be training against that style, meaning a harder match for Mayweather than he would've had, had he taken the fight before.

@Midnightrambler3760 Both are counterpunchers, remember. Marquez had to go for the fight most of the time. Mayweather style is very difficult to read and Marquez is not used to attacking first. Mayweather was not on the weight stated but Marquez still chose to fight him. Both are equally experienced but Mayweather is younger and faster. There's much more involved in the outcome of a fight that you could predict who would win even before.

I do not think 2 lbs in that fight made a difference. It was just a complete mismatch skillwise. Flody out-thought the thinker and outclassed the boxer.
The reason why Marquez had to fight Floyd's fight was because of Floyd's reach and incredible jab. Marquez could not sit back and wait otherwise Floyd would have just jabbed his face off all night long.
That is eactly why pac had to charge Marquez while floyd did not.

All i keep hearing is excuses for why Floyd is not the best.When Floyd fought Dela Hoya,Delahoya choosed the gloves,the weight class,the arena,he choose everything.But when Pacquiao fought him,Delahoya had to weight 145pounds.When Floyd went up to 154,he had to make that weight to fight the champion but with Pacquiao the champion had to weigh 150pounds,i dont here u pacroid fans complaining about all the concessions Pacquiao is getting, r u morons.Pacroid is not in Floyds league.
