@agentepenguin There is a new version, look at the video responses above. (The Filth and the Fury is a 2000 rockumentary film about the Sex Pistols directed by Julien Temple, which tells the story from the viewpoint of the band members themselves.)
Fuck McCalern, he did not create punk, he did not form the pistols, the only reason Steve Jones asked him was because he knew alot of record producers
Well, it's true the Sex Pistols were a swindle and it was mainly created by Malcolm McLaren, who insisted on Rotten being taken as the singer. His ways of manipulating the image and press were clearly inspired by Andrew Loog Oldham. And ofcourse he knew very well that the so called punk scene was allready existing in the US, he didn't invent anything new, a swindle it was.
@neopogos I think he was more inspired by Larry Parne than Andrew Loog Oldham, to tell you the truth...but we'll never know one way or the other, will we?
Malcom McDowell was a dirt-bag: he ripped off the Sex Pistols, encouraged the worst impulses of an immature Sid Vicious and then claimed credit for creating 'punk'. Greedy bastard. This documentary sez more about McLaren's delusions of grandeur then it does the Sex Pistols. Nevertheless, it's recommended viewing for those interested in punk history/culture (sorry...didn't start with Green Day). Thanks for posting this.
@vollsticks Oooops....your right....my mistake: Malcolm McDowell is the famous British actor who's biggest role was a Alex the Droogie in Clockwork Orange (which is such an awesome film). I meant Malcolm Mclaren, who is, in my opinion, a dirt-bag. Thanks!
You better ask Ernie Leadbetter...

wonder what Rotten's God Save The Queen shirt would be worth now. It's so cool, those long sleeves.
