Deflect curses don't deal damage based on the damage you take, rather they deal about 10% of the damage you WOULD have taken if the prayer weren't activated.(about 75% of the time) In other words it takes the damage that the prayer reduced, multiplies it by .1, and then deals that much damage on the opponent. This actually makes it BETTER on npc's since the damage reduced is 100%, there is a larger amount of damage being recoiled back on the opponent.

@AizenHasCandy An example would be: If an npc WOULD have hit you for 100 damage, but hit 0 because of the prayer, then you take the deflected damage 100, multiplied by .1, which makes 10 damage of recoil back on the npc. Whereas against a player, if they WOULD have hit 100, the prayer would reduce it to 60, making the reduced damage 40. 40 times .1 would then mean 4 damage would be dealt as recoil to the player. In this way deflect curses are more powerful on npc's in more ways than 1.
