  • Thanks for this video, I used it to tear down and clean the LCD of my Sansa e280, which had gotten coated in dust that made it in through minute gaps in between the plastic front face and the player itself. Now I can see my screen again! I'm so glad I got the Sansa, it was way cheaper than an iPod (especially since I got mine refurbished through woot.com) and doesn't require crappy software like iTunes. Anyone else with a Sansa, check out the Rockbox firmware, it has games and other features!

  • hey i have a lilo meni sandisk its a 1 gb and its dead it wont turn on, but i want the song and recording in it. is there anyway u can get it..?

  • Does it still work

  • i got mad at my sandisk and threw it a croos my room, broke the screen, but eh it was the most reliable thing i have ever had, then I got the 2nd nano and only had that for a week until my goddamn GF washed it in the washer, i need my sandisk back any help, it only shows white and black, black splotches, and in every ear phone it only plays one ear piece unless i stick it half way out, any help on how to fix that?

  • make sure your sansa is not on hold i make that mistake all the time

  • I just wanted to know if you can fix the screen.

I've been dealing with this for months now and I don't know what I'm going through in my sansa!

The black smudge is there. How can I fix this?

  • when i plug mine it doesn't do nothing and i leave it plug in for hour and still nothing

  • so what was u fixing? cause when i plug mine into my computer it dont pop up anymore and i want to put music on it

  • well know when i put it in it says i cant put any more songs on and i only have 128 and it's suppose to hold 500 i think

  • lol the wheel isn supposed to come off too witht he cover xD

  • I've got a problem with mine....the expansion memory slot broke so when I insert the micro sdhc card I have it will not stay engaged inside the slot and keeps popping out...I've tried to use another sandisk micro sdhc card and the same thing happens. Soon after removing the card a few days ago....which flew across the room so I knew something had broken. Do you know if the expansion slot can be fixed? Must be a spring or broken part that engages the card when inserted.

  • hey i fell down and crushed the thing in my pocket, is there anyway to get a new screen for a DIY repair?

  • i have a SanDisk Sansa but its a lil version of this whit a usb plub in build on to it and i use 2 use it on my xbox 360 and 1 day i took it out of the 360 usb port and it stop working it have'nt turned on any1 no what i can do 2 bring it back 2 life??

  • You might try removing the battery and letting it set for an hour or so.

  • ok thanks ill try that

  • ok now it comes on but it goes right back off u think i should let it set again?

  • thanx alot dude :)

  • hey i follow your video to open up my sansa to try to repair the headphone jack. but i open the the front plate from the board the headphone jack fell off from the board and i though i broke my mp3 player so anyone knows how to fix this pm me cuz i need to know. and it explans why the jack was so loose

  • If it hasn't been too damaged, you will need to solder the headphone jack back to the main board in the Sansa.

  • sansa the best n bitter thin ipod

  • i hate how they use screws they get lost so easy

  • ipod sucks sansa rules

  • Thanks bro for the vid! You saved me some headache.

  • thank you sir for posting this video i used this as a guide for taking apart my mp3 player ( sandisk) that has been broke for some time now and i went ahead and took it apart and changed memorys i had 2 of them and swaped memory chips.. thanks again

  • Thanks for the disassembly video, but I was wondering if anyone can help me because my sansa e280 doesn't turn on on. All it does when I try to turn is on is that the blue ring only turns on and the screen remains black. I've tried holding the power button til it turned off then turn it back on. Same symptom. Any possible solutions. Thanks.

  • hey..when i turn on my sansa a white screen appears with a black smudge which i think is due to a break in the screen..is there any way i can fix this? thanks

  • can you replace the flash memory with a bigger one(put 8gs in a 2g e250)provided you have a broken 8g model from ebay or something, i want to max out my e250 with 8gs flash and 4gs sd memory possibly to 12 gigs.

    Any thoughts?

  • As long as the inside looks the same then you should be able to, but I've heard that some that were made later that were the same model were slightly different, so no promises.

  • hay dude, I made a video similar to yours, do you know where I can buy a replacement screen and outer front case ?, I broke my screen during a fire works show

  • go to ebay and look for a broken one ,some people are selling as-is e250s

  • If you're still looking for one, I could probably hook you up.

  • I'm gonna wait until I get my macbook and get an ipod touch for free

  • thats kool , but i dont think it was a gud idea to open it plugged in!!!

  • Great vid, thanks! I have a sansa e270 and thanks to your vid I checked out what was inside. A lot of dust!

  • will i lose the songs on the flash memory if i swap it on another sansa mp3 player?

  • great video! I spilled some water on it and it didn't work at all... i used this video to take it apart COMPLETELY... let to dry for a few hours... and now it works again thanks you you!

  • i was wondering i can replace the plastic screen for another one if i had another sansa

  • As far as I know it should definitely be replaceable.

  • I was gonna ask dat but u walready answered my question... da second 1 is: what kind of screw drivers did u use? May I plz have da name n type or wtv?

    thx.

  • Just normal Phillips screwdrivers. Size #0 or #00 should work fine.

  • I thx a bunch man.

  • Thank you. After having my Sansa in 7 month it was very very dusty, and your tutorial showed me how to open the sansa without breaking it.

    Thumbs up for you ;)

  • This reminds me of the time I accidentally put mine through the wash. I took it apart, set it up to a fan to dry it off and it worked in 2 days perfectly fine. This thing is a beast! ;-)

  • The inside of my 4GB version is very different :S.

When you take the front cover off mine, the wheel doesn't come with it. Instead, the wheel is a large white plastic piece held on by the middle button. I don't have that gear inside where the wheel should be either. Once the button and white plastic are removed, it's just a black spinning ring.

  • if you check under the wheel you see 4 metals tabs holding it in place. slightly bend them outward to pop the wheel out. be careful though, when you remove the wheel it can fall apart in 2 or 3 pieces. the center button should come out without too much problem. careful though, under the wheel is a very small thin metal spring that is a bitch to put back in. its not really for anything actually. the wheel moves very smoothly without it.

also the flash memory is not removable on the later ones.

  • The four metal tabs you spoke of don't exist on mine.

I'm pretty sure my player is a defect anyway. It stopped working so I complained to SanDisk, and they asked for the Parts Number, but my player didn't come with one.

  • y would u..?

  • For the sake of learning.... and it doesn't work properly.

  • wow....
