I like the magnaflows because they a make a nice crackly sound unlike the flowmasters where it's tinny and you just hear the car breathe. Thumbs up for magnaflow.

Magnaflow's sound can't be captured on camera, plus they sound way better under load while driving, much cleaner sound than Flowmaster, but there are straight through chambered mufflers that leave Flowmaster in the dust, like the Hushpower and the Hooker Aerochamber

Here the Flowmasters sound better to me, but that's just my opinion. But I've seen other situations where Magnaflows definitely sound better. Of course it's not just about the sound, the performance is what really counts.
i would personal run it open headers but i live back in the country and know all the cops so but if i had to chose it would be flows but thrush welded series sound good
i got a pair of the loudest flows on my 69 roadrunner with a 512 sixBBL in it and it sounds realy sweet a friend of mine can hear me cruising by his town when i go past it on the highway :D

By dronemaster i mean they have a distinct drone at highway speed. which is a low bass tone that resonates in your ears and drives you nuts if you are driving that speed for any length of time.
@cudatodd another reason why ill choose magnaflow. im a car audio enthusiast and i actually like having my vehicle noise as low as possible but im also a guy who loves a good sounding exhaust system and even more so the better air flow and power gains from one too. so ive had flowmasters in the past and they were always loud as fuck, well i want all the benefits from a aftermarket exhaust system plus the better sound but yet still want the sound to be mild enough to enjoy my speakers. magnaflow!
@cudatodd flowmasters are good hot rod and track mufflers. I went on a 4 hour drive in my hot rod truck that has flows on it. I was about ready to shoot myself when I arrived at my destination and forget trying to have a conversation during the drive.
all i did was post a video that compared the two of the most popular mufflers on the same car, because when i was trying to decide i couldnt find such a video. Just trying to save other guys some money, i learn quit a bit off here because other guys go to the trouble of post info.

The flows are louder, and to me the magz have a more clear sound for each exhaust note, not as deep sounding but maybe research went into them since they came after the flows? Todd , what do you mean by Dronemaster?

I had flowmasters on my car too. I switched to the Thrush welded chambered mufflers in 3" offset in/ center out and they are almost identical to a 40 series flowmaster (at about 1/3 the price). The "drone" was reduced significantly and the only place i hear resonance inside my car now is at about 1800 rpms. It is a much more tolerable ride than with the Flowmasters I had. I was borrowing the flowmasters from a friend and thank GOD I did, cause I wouldnt have spent $200 on muffflers.

@badboyviper77 flows are definately louder than magnaflow. besides, magnaflow is too airy when revving. its short spurts of noise, unlike flowmaster, when you rev its nothing airy or short. a nice bassed sound of your engine.
@sgh091 not when it comes to new vehicles. 5.3L silverados with series 44's on them are not louder than my 4.6 f150 with a magnaflow. and mine is deeper than the rest. i chirp alarms every where i go
at first i liked the flowmasters better but i like the magnaflows better cause it sounds just like my dads race car used to.......badass either way :)
id go with either open exhausts or the flows, my dads got magnaflows on our dodge truck and they give a rel throaty sound to em sounds nice no matter wich way ya go, maybe a different one each week haha
I've had few comments about "how could you waste a set of tires" . What you cant see in the burnout is that the rears were swapped for junkyard tires.
Good comparison! I had Flowmasters and liked the sound alot. Got a great deal on a complete Magnaflow system with 'X' and will install on my restoration. From the vid, I think I'll prefer the Flowmasters, but it's all good.
I'm not sure why anyone would roast a good set of tires, though. Maybe they're already toasted?
i'd go with magnaflow ANY day. ya the flowmasters may SOUND cool but they have no performance advantage. The magnaflows give you the great sound plus the performance.
haha well magnaflows are just mufflers so you can put them on just about whatever you want. my cousin has a two chamber magnaflow on his scion tc because it makes them sound deeper than the rice cans they usually use. nice cuda though!

The flows are louder, and to me the magz have a more clear sound for each exhaust note, not as deep sounding but maybe research went into them since they came after the flows? Todd , what do you mean by Dronemaster?

@FATMIKED5183 The flows do sound awesome, and the video represents the sound pretty well but for some reason the magnaflow dont sound the same as on the video. they sound much better in real life. the other factor was i do a ton of highway driving and the dont call the flows 'Dronemasters" for no reason.

I had flowmasters on my car too. I switched to the Thrush welded chambered mufflers in 3" offset in/ center out and they are almost identical to a 40 series flowmaster (at about 1/3 the price). The "drone" was reduced significantly and the only place i hear resonance inside my car now is at about 1800 rpms. It is a much more tolerable ride than with the Flowmasters I had. I was borrowing the flowmasters from a friend and thank GOD I did, cause I wouldnt have spent $200 on muffflers.

@FATMIKED5183 flowmasters sound like shit, sounds like a hollow steel box, whats the use? pinging sounds better than a GROWL? come on... highway driving is retardedly annoying with flowmaster... magnaflow is far better sounding and you can actually hear yourself while driving and the tone at idle is a lot more enjoyable. i think flowmaster makes any car sound like crap... just my opinion

I don't personaly like the FM's myself, I had to add glass packs to my 69 charger just to tolerate the interior noise. But seriously, where is your awesome ride with the magnaflows, wheres your demo vid? I think the FM's sound GREAT on the outside, better than MF's, but the inside is a different story... Maybe on his Cuda it's quiet inside!?

@badboyviper77 flows are definately louder than magnaflow. besides, magnaflow is too airy when revving. its short spurts of noise, unlike flowmaster, when you rev its nothing airy or short. a nice bassed sound of your engine.

@sgh091 not when it comes to new vehicles. 5.3L silverados with series 44's on them are not louder than my 4.6 f150 with a magnaflow. and mine is deeper than the rest. i chirp alarms every where i go

Good comparison! I had Flowmasters and liked the sound alot. Got a great deal on a complete Magnaflow system with 'X' and will install on my restoration. From the vid, I think I'll prefer the Flowmasters, but it's all good.
I'm not sure why anyone would roast a good set of tires, though. Maybe they're already toasted?

i'd go with magnaflow ANY day. ya the flowmasters may SOUND cool but they have no performance advantage. The magnaflows give you the great sound plus the performance.

haha well magnaflows are just mufflers so you can put them on just about whatever you want. my cousin has a two chamber magnaflow on his scion tc because it makes them sound deeper than the rice cans they usually use. nice cuda though!
