  • I spent enough money on this game for Sega to make a PS3 version from scratch. Viper II > All♥

  • This looks like the coolest game ever!

  • 5:44 is just a clone of the originals.

  • why u only run forward and attack, no skill required.

  • @frendlytemjin

Trust me man, this is a hard game. Dual stick at the arcade? You were a boss if you could beat the Ruins level.

  • @NimtasDNB001 then im a god if i was able to complete this game in 5mins at arcade

    on medium. 2rounds per fight

  • I found both Virtual On & Virtual On CT at my place

  • Something tells me you like robots.....

  • NEERVANUH

  • I miss this game at the arcades it was so fun palying with those two joy sticks with the sounds blasting in your ears and the feel of actually piloting these mechs... good times...

  • dam i hated the ending it was sad to see the robot u chose all broken and floating in space =(

  • Comment removed

  • wow....u took raiden down like he wuuz nothing...o_O, i always die when i face him

  • this is port is on ps2 correct?

  • Ok... that's it. I'm getting this game. It was my favorite game in my childhood, and it's been over 10 years since I played it. Enough is enough!! I'm GETTING THIS GAME!!!

  • can you make a video fighting her with fei-yen

    it would be amazing

also you can play as the original just hold start while you press a dash button if the heart beam sounds then you play as her make avideo of that

  • lol'd at 6:04, I was waiting for you to use the sword, finally... I knew it was effective enough.

  • They really should make a Virtual On game for the DS, it just fits so well. Although I think they already did something like this with Custom Robo Arena.

  • I remember the Temjin's final move... jump + up + sword....

  • You know, it's weird that even after you save the world, your Virtuaroid gets destroyed.

  • Ah memories. It was so easier back in the first game when you can spam the forward dash rifle all you want. I played this game in a very old arcade machine with only the right stick working and you can finish the game using only the forward dash rifle attack of the Temjin. Thats how overpowered it was, haha.

  • aw man i miss this game

  • have u ever noticed that the robots have a white sega saturn in their backs???

  • @razorzzzz in the second one they have dreamcasts.

  • @S0ryiu except for 10/80 he has a saturn on his back

  • i love the fact they all have a sega saturn on their back and when they dash you se de CD xD

    Raiden beats all

  • When i found this game at an arcade one day, i played this, and was instantly hooked. my favorite robot to use is Fei-Yen (the one that goes into Hyper mode when she takes too much damage) and the hardest robot to fight was Dorkas (i think its the one with the spike ball mace)

  • wow nostalgia bomb man. temujin was the shit. two joysticks and the mirror partition to split for versus. jesus this game was awesome

  • how do you crouch again?

  • In the year 2101, people find a way to make giant robots from Sega Saturns, asserting its superiority over the Playstation.

  • im a fan of virtual on. is there any fan art on the web i can find?

  • Oh boy, doesn't this bring me back.

  • หาคนเล่นที่ บางกะปิ ครับ ไม่มีใครเล่นเลยเดี๋ยวนี้หายหมด แต่ก่อนผมเซียน MBK

    เจอได้ครับ

  • Gundam fight all set , ready GO

  • @Crimsonterminator100 I'm just gonna say that I would enjoy Virtual-ON over Gundam ANY DAY. I thank Gundam for getting me interested in this game though. Gundam x Virtual-On game would be ...I don't even have words to describe how much I want that. Give me a GIANT arena, EVERY Virtuaroid and Gundam EVER, and I'll probably play until I break the bones in my hands.

  • When I would play this as a kid, I'd only play as Dorkas or Viper II. I still sucked cuz I was only 5 xD

  • oh god custom robo eat your heart out, this game is downright sexy

  • So.. many... explosions...

  • this what u call real gaming

fuck gundam like if u agree

  • @cameron10101 gundam is the shit

  • @cameron10101 youve ovbiovsly never played Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus.

  • i used to bum this game on the Saturn, was so good

  • theres nothing like playin this in the arcade, with two joysticks in your hand. good ol times..

  • I usually start round two with a jump and start hammering the rifle.

  • this almost looks like custom robo!

  • 2:15 is so like Optimus Prime Vs Megatron in e forest. lol

  • Lol I used to beat everyone who played against me. Also, one time, the guy I was playing against was using controllers that weren't fully functioning (some buttons were dead, they were the dual stick :D), and I beat him. However, he blamed the controllers, we switched places, and I still beat him, hahaha. Temjin 4Evar.

  • So is this like an exact replica of the arcade? (Cause this looks way better than my Saturn version.)

  • Where is the secret boss?

  • anyone else remember playing this game in the arcades?

  • Man, I miss this game.

The music kinda reminds me of Megaman X4 though.

  • omg i remenber this game and i keep playing it LOL XD sometimes....xD

  • its like a 2rd view custom robo arena

  • 3rd person*

  • The only difference is that this came out before Custom Robo :P

  • OMFG! I USED TO PLAY IT EVERYDAY!

tought id never see this game again!

  • Used to play this classic game everyday on arcade, many invested of course. IIRC, the game could be done quicker than 2:30, even 1:xx. and EX-S is the highest rank I've ever seen.

Going straight, no fency weapons or attacks, truely one of the best robot fighting game so far now.

  • 3:40

    What????

    wheres that uber freak!?

  • i miss this game. i used to have it as a kid and lost this copy.

  • hey ViceCommando how do you confirgure the keyboard controls for the Model 2 emu for Virtual On ?

there appears to be no strafe or jump option ?

  • good run man

  • Wait, what? Was the original Fei-Yen fight in the arcade version? I never knew this one existed at all. o_o

  • yes

  • @Gabd3v Actually no. The arcade version had no "Fierce" difficulty and therefore no secret boss fight. The easy Fei Yen fight before Raiden is it.

  • it doesnt have the same effect if youre not playing it with the two sticks =\

  • @elementpollo

that was the DC and Saturn versions, but you have the PS2 analog sticks which should do a fine job, right?

  • @elementpollo that's what she said...

  • the first stages was the best, love the sound tracks on this virtual on. I want to buy this again.

  • search it on internet lol they should be some emulator or something like that

  • Great run, man. Even normal Fei-Yen kicks my ass from time to time.

I managed to get a time of 4:04 on the Saturn version (emulated) without machine-gunning Z-Gradt. But I died to Fei-Yen (still the most annoying of enemies) once...so I imagine that I could've shaved 40 seconds or so off of that time. SSS ranks are still fun to earn, though.

  • wait you can play as original fei yen? I thought it was a boss only

  • Ho-How the heck did you do that at 1:51?

  • Press the Bomb, then quickly press crouch. You'll throw a crouched Bomb.

There are crouched versions of all attacks, pretty much.

  • Whatever verision this is, is really smooth.

But I still prefer the saturns 32bitness.

  • It's a matter of opinion, me too, I like to play this game on the saturn, bacause I barely played the arcade...

  • The Fei Yen is far more dangerous oppenent than Z-Gradt

  • I could only face this Fei-Yen once, I don't know how quickly opponents must be defeated.

  • I have this game and I think - I'm not 100% sure - that you can't play as this Fei-Yen. I know for sure you can play as Jaguarandi and Z-Gradt though.

  • I love this game. Did this version ever come out on console? If so, what system?

  • PS2 has it.

  • xbla has it. pretty steep price of 1200mp. worth it.

  • Um no, that's Oratorio Tangram

  • thanks, i guess.

  • You can play it on Model2 emulator, also it came on Sega Saturn, PC and PS2.

  • I noticed there was something wrong with that Fei-Yen fight mood, just now I realized...

    It's Jaguarandi's BGM O_o

  • Temijin's(I believe thats how you spell it. Im still new to this series) theme kicks ass

  • Ppl used to call me "New Type" when I played this in arcade.... I hope they'll remade this game online...

  • Apparently the PS2 port has an online Vs. mode.

  • Is the PS2 online japan only, or does it work in US console?

But it doesn't matter much now. I can't believe my eyes when I just saw Virtual On Oratorio Tangram got released on xbox live arcade! Online vs too!

  • The ONLY time I remember actually seeing an arcade cabinet of that game was at Kingston Ontario, at the Ambassidor Hotel, and and I THINK I saw Oratorio Tangram at a rest stop on highway 401. I think there's also an Oratorio Tangram cabinet at the West Edmonton Mall.

  • That Fei-Yen seems easier to beat than Z-Gradt! However, it has a wicked jump. Almost the double of Viper-II.

  • I'm so glad I own the arcade cabinet of this game. I love it so.

  • Now that's lucky.

Can I crash at your place and play it until my hands go numb?

  • god i loved playing this at Ocean City! it was hard but sooo fun!

  • I'm not bragging but as far as I can I remember, I beat like 7 grown up guys in our city without me losing (how can it not be?I'm the only V.O fan in that arcade!). But when I played the second version of this game, that's when I had difficult time in finishing this game.

  • I remember playing this at the arcade in chicago!

the, X Acrade I believe... I was like 7... awesome game! I played that exact same mech!

i thought I was so cool! with the cockpit controls! I felt like a gundam pilot

boy, did I suck though... I just kept shooting... thought I'd win that way...

  • I didn't know about that secret boss, all I know is about Jaguarandi and Z Gradt, thanks for posting this vid, it's my first to see the secret boss, although it's just Fei Yen hehe! But its moves cannot really be compared to Fei Yen...

  • Can you obtain the secret boss in the original arcade machine?

  • nah i think you suck... but you can blame it on the game if you want lol - anyway the games are totally different... but anyone who calls people names on the internet is probably not even worth arguing with... so be at peace.

  • I need to find a way to get to play these games, I'm missing out.

  • i should pick up this sega ages... thanks for reminding me!

  • Oh man I remember this game, damn it was great, I was also into Gundams at the time so it was an exciting game.

  • God, I would kill to have a copy of this game again. Glad they remade it.

  • FUCK NICE man

  • i used to own in this game nd i was like 5 years old i had it for my pc uhh windows 95 i think

  • I know.

  • So the normal end boss is a powered up Fie-Yen? I came across this game in the arcade recently but I didn't get a chance to appreciate how great the music was.

  • we need a next-gen virtual on

  • That's what I've been thinking ^_^ It would be AWESOME!

  • Yeah actually I have, I've played through Armored Core 4 on Normal and Hard and I've played Armored Core: For Answer.

  • umm timma797 must have never played VO... armored core is totally different...

  • In terms of gameplay, what is the difference between the two Fei-Yens?

I'm sorry to say that she's sort of underwhelming as a final boss. Z-Gradt had a lot more oopmh.

  • if this is of Saturn or any SEGA system thats old then wow is all i have to say (the graphics look so good for something as dated looking as this, please confirm to me what system this is on is to any of you readers that know).

  • wow the graphics looked good.

  • I noticed that the Final Boss Fei Yen diagram doesn't have a bowgun sword thingy with her

  • That's it? No Jaguarandi? (I'm scared of the WARNING, WARNING sign after Bal Bas Bow and the GAME OVER sign when you lose/beat the game)

  • Did you know about the rescue option?

During the credits, circle the twinsticks in a clockwise direction. A ship whips by right at the end and takes the wreck of your VR back to earth. It also works in the PC version (much furious tapping of arrow keys).

I'm not entirely sure what it does, apparently on the saturn it unlocked some kind of stage select...?

  • WHOAAA !!!!, that was Original Fei-Yen that escaped during test. Created by a 10 years girl named LLN Plajiner based on VO Novel. The original Fei-yen doesn't need hyper mode to unleash her potential

  • There is a novel?! Gotta get it!

  • coolest raw on the saturn.

  • Yeah! XD

  • wow nice, i cant evevn beat Beldgor at the arcade Xd

  • woot, i thought the last boss is the big hell thing, how do u get to that boss, and whats the different between this last boss and that girl character we can use.

  • I miss this game so much, it was always so fun

  • thanks for this video, i have missed the game will this game work on us systems? thanks for any info

  • Nope. You need swapmagic or an import system.

  • thanks for the info, too bad it won't run on us systems, that stuff sucks ass whats swapmagic? i never heard of that one...

  • This is the sad ending.Buy it at anywhere

  • I WANT THIS GAME SO BADLY... My PC version still works, but I hate playing on the computer.

  • I used to play the arcade game of this!!, Do you know what website I can order it from?

  • Look at the video's information drop down, I put a link in there.

  • Dude, you are mind-blowingly fast. I'd say I'd love to fight you sometime but that'd be a lie. I'd love to see you kick everyone else I know's ass in VOOT, though. :)

  • dannnng that was sweet

  • How did you get this game? I didn't think they released this state side.

  • It's via import only at this point.

  • hmm I've never played this I assume you make it look easier than it is lol

  • That was awesome. But umm, if you have the time, would you mind making a vid with a Jaguarandi playthrough? I've seen the Z-Gradt mode, but I've never seen the playable Jaguarandi in action before.

  • Taking down the secret boss so easily is rather anti-climactic! :) I noticed Dorkas canceled his Spinning Hammer, is that a Fierce difficulty AI feature or is that something humans can do too? I never knew!

  • This is simply awesome. I didn't know you could do the whole jump/crouch on the original, or that it ran this fast for that matter. It almost looks like it was given an Oratan facelift or something. Very nicely done. Thanks for uploading this! (BTW, I don't suppose that trick where a ship picks you up at the end works on this one?)

  • It does but I decided not to do it on this playthrough.

  • Not a problem. Just wanted to know if it was still in there. But forget I asked - I just looked at the official website and lo and behold, there's a screenshot of it. Man, the things that happen when I don't pay attention. :P

  • OMG I HAVE THIS GAME STILL IT ROCKS!!! HAHA

too bad my comps too new to play it though lol :(

  • is there an emulator online?

  • yea there is but it aint easy to do... i play with a 360 controller lol

  • wow, this takes me back, the good old days with the sega saturn

  • Wow--I want this. But I know I'll never play it since it's not on-line. I wish they'd make an on-line retro pack or something with VO and VOOT on it.

  • Sega ages: Virtual on IS online!! only the sgea ages virtual on port to the ps2 and IIRC the PC version are online

  • Yeah I noticed that so I bought it!! I haven't tried the on-line features yet though.

  • I wonder if they work outside japan...

  • I have the saturn version of VO but this port out-classes it by far. I hope I get to pick it up soon. Its incredible just how much extra stuff the packed in. I also heard it was possible to do online matches though xlinkai. Have you had a chance to try it out? Thanks for the awesome upload.

  • Since Sega assigned Japanese developer M2 to take care of the emulation for both the PS2 AGES lineup and the Mega Drive/Genesis portion of the Wii Virtual Console, they have done a great job with each new release like Gunstar Heroes and Galaxy Force II. And great job...

  • hahahauhahahahhahha lol

  • Cool!

  • Flat-out Epic.

  • hard core.

  • that was hard 5/5

  • whoa
