@TiRa999 i`ve always had a strange feeling that in some way he was speaking to the devil in many of his songs, it kind a scares me . . . this thoughts gives me the chills
i used to hear this song coming out of my brothers room back in the 90's. I never forgot that sax riff. It was hard to tell who was who back then. I thought this was a gimmick. damn was I ever wrong. I am a new Morphine fan, and cannot get enough. All these guys songs hit so hard.
This CD got stuck in the player during my first date with my now wife. Let that be a lesson to you all you guys here - find a woman who likes Morphine (the band, of course) and it should work out fine.
I miss this. Why can't bands be original anymore? There was a time when you could actually tell who was who. Every band was unique and different. Today you can't tell these bands apart.
Not a dimes worth of difference between any of these bands today! Now Morphine, that's an entirely different story altogether. Can you say originality taken to the extreme.
@n8tureboy Word. You have to start with an original idea if you want to make truly original music. Morphine had to sound unique because the idea of a two string bass and Tenor sax is in itself original.
@n8tureboy Much like Primus. Les took the bass and made it the star of the show, the lead instrument with Larry's guitar playing odd, off the wall textural stuff underneath. That's why Les considers Mark one of his heroes. Like minded artists respect each other. I am sure Mark loved Les' work with Primus too.
new mark sandman doc finally coming out in 2012. check the trailer out right here....btw this is my fav morphine song, atleast at the moment

@delilaha I agree, this is my favorite Morphine song. I think it's the sax that makes it so sensual.

@SCROGY
Yes indeed! It's conceived with an idea, then the idea develops into a full-blown art form. These guys are artists not pretenders.
They've got the grooviest sound going. N8

@SCROGY I hope you only mean like Primus from their creativity because they sound nothing a like but great musicians.
eastballa16 1 year ago
@eastballa16 No. Not implying they sound alike. Just that both bands are very original and feature the bass as a sort of marquee instrument.
