  • I think that I may have to borrow that and preach "Stand by me." Thanks Bishop Vashti and Bro. King.

  • This is awesome.

  • I love this video it is a true video

  • Gotta love my Bishop!!!!!!

  • Get it Bishop MacKenzie!

  • What service was this @, I would like to purchase it so I can see the whole video and it's entirety!

  • work it Bishop

  • Why do religious people have to take away everything that is good like this song? :(

  • this song is good and it is even good while Bishop Mckenzie sings it...I can tell the spirit was there....

  • Stand By Me Bishop McKenzie!!!

  • God Bless Trnity and Rev. Wright.

  • dat sho be da hot preachin ass yo

  • ...continued Let us Pray for Obama that he will be the vessel of change in this socially deprive society, and the preachers like Wright will continue to preach truth and the few that will hear it embrace for it is what our Lord and savior did. God Bless you all

  • ...continued He did not do anything to Obama nor did Obama desert his pastor he is a candidate for public service and anything that is contrary to public opinon will be question, and when someone is as close as wright is to Obama to World catches "soundbites" throw it up in the ceiling of public eyes and what sticks is what they criticize, put down, talk about, mis quote, and play on fox tv for a cheap shot.

  • I for a while could not grasp the underline truth behind the WRIGHT/OBAMA Scandal (poor choice of words) however, I have finally come to the conclusion that Pastor Wright has not done anything wrong...he is only do what a true Black preach does, and that is speak out against all malice and evil.

  • Thankyou TUCC for sharing this wonderful moment with us all around the world. Even though the media, and those who benefit from it, have done you a great disservice, please know that what man has done in evil, God will use for good. Many people around the world have become curious about Rev Dr Wright's teachings and more have heard his wisdom than ever would have before. His interview with Bill Moyers, and speech to the NAACP were amazing. Thankyou for showing us your faith and rich culture.

  • Now listen to yourself... you are spewing the very racism you say you are against.

  • What a wonderful Congregation and a perfect song to demonstrate support for Pastor Wright, and Senator Obama who chose to stand by him and not throw him under the train for telling the TRUTH!!! I stand by Senator Obama and Pastor Wright. All WOMEN of every race , religion and background need to listen to his sermons unedited, do NOT shoot the messenger.

You won't find a Pastor MORE Pro Woman than Pastor Wright.

  • I am a proud TUCC member. I was at this Good Friday service and how powerful it was to see all these ministers stand with & for Rev.Dr. Wright.

  • Why doesn't the media present the full side of Obama's church? And only playing snippets of an out of context words from rev Wright? This is a good church. All christians please lets fast and pray so God's will will be done.

  • Wow what a cool congregation! Makes me almost sad that I am not religious. What a wonderful way to celebrate God if you are going to do it.

  • I agree with you completely, except for misnaming pastor Wright. I would go a step further and say we should all tend to our own hearts, find love and compassion in there, and share it.

I think Jesus mentioned something about those without sin should cast the first stone.

There is clearly racism and injustice in thi world, and there is clearly anger and mistrust coming through in your comments. Let's all heal our own hearts before condemming others.

  • McCain,

Clearly you are filled with anger and mistrust.

My understanding of Jesus' teachings leads me to think that Jesus would reach out to you with a loving and accepting hand. My understanding of the message in this "stand by me" segment is that the people of this congregation are reaching out their own hands seeking love and acceptance from God through each other.

Try reaching out some time, you just might find a loving hand guided by Jesus' message there to meet yours.

  • My heart goes out to the good people of this church. I can not imagine how awful it would be if my own church was scrutinized so heavily.

I am your white brother and I hold you all n my heart.

  • "I am your white brother and I hold you all n my heart. "

    GOD BLESS YOU!

  • Does this CHURCH ever preach from the bible???? Just curious....our do they refer to worldly ideas to preach their church instead of the WORD of GOD?

  • Love the song, cool church.

  • I love Bishop Vashti! TUCC is blessed to have such great preachers and an awesome congregation and choir! It is truly heartfelt and love-filled. Peace, love & God bless.

  • You can. This is probably my favorite version of this song.

  • Your comment is a perfect illustration why African Americans do worship separately. You just don't get it. And that's okay. You don't have to. You just shouldn't trash what you fear or don't understand. Part of the "message" had been delivered in the sermon that preceded this clip. This portion was a show of unity and support for an incredible man of God who was experiencing an undeserved rough time. See how "clips" or "bites" out of context can impede comprehension? May God Bless you.

  • I have just emerged from political commetaries and after stumbling on to this breath of fresh air, I went back and linked it to one of my replies, "this is what hope looks like."

  • Dont Talk about my church a place of god

  • I'll stand by the first amendment. And that should be God, with a capital G.

  • The message has to be awesome to get beyond the introduction. It's ok though. You got up there sister and did the best you could. I couldn't do any better and probably wouldn't have had the courage to get up there. I hope I do when I need to.

  • What do you think Randy? Randy "Yo yo yo dawg, I wasn't feeling it. It's a now from me Simon. Simon: Paula? Paula: good song choice but it's a no. Love the scarf.

Your not going to Hollywood baby. Sorrrry.

  • Love the sentiment. Go head Soror Bishop Vashti. I am standing by Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr and Trinity United Church of Christ. I encourage others to do the same.

  • That's how Pastor Wright taught us to act.

  • Well, her voice is not that good, but the message gets across. I'm standing by Reverend Wright and Trinity Church. Keep up the good fight!

  • Pastor Wright for President!

  • I am a member of the Nation of Islam and I to stand behind this church, Rev. Wright and all those fighting for truth. We need more preachers who not just hold conferences of loosing women and men but telling the world why we are bound in the first place. Plus executing the solutions. That is what Jesus did and thats why we refer to his ministry on earth as the "works of Jesus"

  • You're a little boy who wants attention. Thats real sick of you. In Spanish they would call you a suica. Get a life please. Let someone say that about your mother or a love one. How would you feel. I will not allow you to disrepect a woman of God. I pray that God has mercy in your life because you just can't talk about the anointed.

  • LOl. Bishop is not much of a singer but I love her spirit though. Go ahead bishop!

  • Beloved we are not fighting against flesh and blood but principalities... We need to remember that the battle is not ours but the Lord. I Beseech all that do not agree with TUCC that it is okay however recognize that you will be judged as you have judged us...

  • The United States of America. Not at perfect union, but one that can be worked on.

  • This is what we're about.

  • Christ Has Risen! In the spirit of true Christian faith, we need to help & support our Christian family regardless if you don't agree with Pastor Wright and the painful truth of our past he speaks of. Love & Forgiveness comes above all. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lets not forget Luke 6:41 as well. All I ask is that you don't lump 'everyone' together. Each man should be held accountable for their own actions, not for the actions of others.

  • This is beautiful.

  • Thank God for the courage of Bishop McKenzie and all the ministers who are standing by Pastor Wright and the Trinity family

  • Amen Bishop, Yes Yes

  • that was great
