Some rumours about FBI trying to blockout YouTube, after Megaupload closure, makes me think to inform you about saving all existing videos in your own hard disks for your own pleasure, just in case to be true. I hope it's all a fake story to scare us, but... in any case, it's better to get them before something worse happens. Spread the word around all channels.
great thank you from somebody loving Keith's music since he played Sibelius and Tchaikovsky on Nice ( not really yesterday , but it keeps me young in mind )
Great performance of three genius with only few bits of technic ( but no electronic tuner ! ; the bass is also out of tune )
The fact that this exists, despite all the technical flaws (highly erratic video, pretty good audio), is amazing. If the piano playing that takes place between 26:00 and 40:00 doesn't convince you of the greatness of Keith Emerson, you're hopeless (love the Chico Marx finger shot at 35:00). Thank you a thousand times over for finding this and sharing it.
Can you imagine Jimi Hendrix , who was on the verge of making ELP become "H e l p " playing in this typhoon, adding some blues, jazz and psych-rock ... I can HEAR it... can't you !!!
really great to see this! just shows whats hidden away in the attic/vaults for so many years, obviously an old video, but the audio is surprisingly good quality!!!! fantastic post! thanks indeed!
ELP = Music = Feeling = Love !
We remember our friends' band trying to play hoedown. However, The keyboard player was overwhelmed and having difficulties playing some of the parts, even though he used modern digital synthesizer which is supposedly helpful.
Look at Keith, he looked effortless during playing all of the parts ..., the equipments he used were all 'old fashioned.' ck..., ck....,
I missed this live concert 40 years ago... I was 11 years old and my brother wasn't take me out there. Even he was 14 years and mom said "NO", but he escaped form home. But I saw them at Radio City Music Hall in 1992. They just reunion to original EL&P. It was amazing live show, was opening with TARKUS started in dark. I never forget that impression.
I was wanted to see this Japan live so long. Thank you for posting.

@mjtgough Holy %#@*...from 54:40 to 1:07:15, the sheer energy and creative brilliance is
jaw-dropping. There wasn't (and never has been) anything else like it. Ah, if only the video could've been clear......

Incredible Keith in this concert! What an amazing keyboard artist. Underrated all his life. I saw them at the Garden in 1977. Great concert.
Greg has a wonderful singing voice. He needed better amps for his guitar. He is a proficient guitarist so they should have amped him better.
I think Palmer still has his own band. I wonder what the other two are doing now?

Very rare footage. I remember that they only show part of this on the dvd From The Beginning. I've always wanted to see the rest since then.
