  • In regards to "the Spanish Camp" there were actual Spaniards working on the plantations, too. In fact, 8,000 came to the islands to cut sugar cane. However, most left for California by the 1920s.

  • i really enjoyed this! I am a decendant of Chinese and Russian plantation laborors who came to Hawaii in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Thanks for posting!

Do you know where camp number 3 in Honolulu is? That is where my Russian ancestors lived on a plantation, i've tried to find information on it, but have not been successful.
