I wonder if the W3C will adopt it. x86 may be the de facto standard for instruction sets, but on the other hand, if NaCl becomes part of what's known as "the web", the web becomes less cross-platform, if ever-so-slightly.

Of course, Google having solved a decades-old computer science problem with this means Internet Explorer will have to incorporate it sooner or later regardless. Let's hope for sooner.

We've been in this business a long time. We are c++ developers and we have written billions of lines of really interesting code. We cannot run any of it on the net. Here there is speed, security and all the wonders that c++ brought to the computer industry and that includes every operation system. Now we have the chance to actually share our stuff.

1) The name you mentioned who was absent relating to visionary ideas is one person I need to talk to regarding if he actually thought of ChromeOS after I spread my own idea which I called ToxProX when chrome was first revealed or not.

2) Concerning NaCL I'm wondering if there has been any effort or testing regarding running the sandbox using Intel/AMD on-chip virtualization instructions for bounding access to allowed resources directly on-chip.

@ZerqTM C# is no native code, so no. You would have to embed an entire .NET runtime to make it work.
