@JookLumFist My Godfather learned it from his father, his family was from the hakka persuasion,They did Dragon fist and White tiger and Chu and Jook Lum Praying Mantis,When My godafher was a young adult he move to Hong Kong and studied Wing Chun under one of Ip Man students,I'm the product of that and combo of Wing Chun and Jook lum but mostly Wing Chun
thanks for your reply. i like your hands and am sure we'll get to know each other down the road. I'm doing something similar to you by having a hybrid jooklum/wingchun style, yet more geared on jook lum. I'll post some videos up sometime soon. please do give feedback. thanks! ~Alex
It's crazy how all of this stuff is related...when you bring his arm down it reminds me of fook sao a little bit. Not quite the same. I gotta go back to research the way these arts came about. Good stuff Sheng!
question; who's sheng chen? is he the toad (deadly venoms)/kid with the golden arm, or is he a regular person/Martial artist whose name I simply don't recognize?
Sheng is my last name Mike Sheng thats me in the button shirt.Chen Fan is the mandarin version of the cantonese name Jun Fan which is one of the arts that i teach.
I am very impressed with your mantis and wing chun. You are obviously well versed in both arts. I have been studying Jook Lum for several years and have recently mixed some wing chun in with some of my training partners. What city are you teaching out of.
Like it, thanks for posting.
