  • This is a very good documentary about a genre of music that has been overlooked as well as looked down on. One could take issue with certain commentators and their interpretations, and some artists might not be your cup of tea while others are neglected. But to see a documentary devoted to great musicians like Bert Kaempfert, James Last, Herb Alpert, Stu Phillips, etc. is fantastic. Someone could spin off from here, eg. the German easy listening scene, A&M artists (Mendes, Wechter, etc.)

  • BBC Four does definitly the best music documentarys in the world.

Thank you very much for the whole upload!

  • @namaste91 No problem! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • I play the electronic organ. If you find yourself wishing to enjoy playing a very wide variety of the popular standard music and with such a wonderful 'easy to listen to' sound then please listen to a play list I made called 'Organ Tunes even Organ Haters will love!'. • wonderful BBC doc as always. Great insight to the reasons and culture behind E-Z.

  • You definitely don't want lyrics if the record is being played backwards as it appears at 00:40 - heaven knows what Satanic messages Bert might have had for us!

  • From 07:00 onwards very interesting background information (as well as rare video pictures !!) about Bert Kaempfert, IMHO the absolute BEST Orchestra EVER in Europe ! Bert wrote and arranged more than 400 different songs - many of his own compositions became worldwide hits (Strangers in the night, Danke Schoen, Afrikaan beat...) Want to discover other songs by Bert Kaempfert ? On my channel you will discover more than 30 Kaempfert 'originals' - together with other great orchestral music !

  • @Socratess2007 You have one of the best channels on youtube for upbeat instrumental music, Walter! After that my 750 playlists of beautiful music like your may be the next runner-up. chuck

  • @chkjns Think it's rather the other way round but ........ never mind who "has the best one" = as long as everybody is enjoying what they do it's "OK" isn't it. If, on top of that, we can make other people happy with our music channels ...... guess "the best of both worlds" is "right here" :-) ! Walt
