  • Nipple nipple, tweak tweak, FLY!

  • I have been listening to FT since the late 60's so I know that sometimes they hit and sometimes they miss.

    This is an in-between.

They were not always funny...they had some failures.

Phil Austin, Peter Bergman, David Ossman and Philip Proctor were the originators...how many of them are still participating is anybody's guess.

But..if it sounds like FT and tastes like FT and smells like FT and when you step in it you fall on your ass like Bozo then it's FT.

    So quit your bitchin'.

  • @hammerogod This is Austin, Bergman and Proctor with a couple of friends. David Ossman left the troupe during the mid-1980's.

  • I commend yr patience & yr good taste in humour, but you must agree it wd be so much easier if the words 'recut & redubbed' were also included in the vid description, 4 the sake of artistic integrity as well as honesty. This work stems from love & I don't want to criticise Firesign at all. It's a letdown when you expect a new voice over & find it's what you already know recut into another format. It ain't honest the way you have it described above friend. You shd say 'recut & redubbed' - truth.

  • Sorry Sluggo but I don't think the description of this vid makes it clear that it's a 'fan contest' vid & not the real team. Wdn't that be more honest. I don't mean to offend but you must be straightforward. Folks like me don't know the b/g & jump to conclusions you can hardly blame them 4. I quote from yr description of the vid above - 'a new voice over by the Firesign Theatre...' I call that a big fat lie. Please explain my mistake Sir?

  • @slessorpr Fan contest? What are you smokin'? Like I said go to the Firesign web site and you will see this note in the 2006 announcment section, "Some firehead has put up six of Firesign's nine "Hot Shorts" (re-cut and re-dubbed serials similar to J-Men Forever) on youtube.com. Now what part of "six of Firesign's nine "Hot Shorts" don't you understand?

  • It may be Firesign's script I don't know but it sure as hell isn't them performing this. Full stop. This is NOT the real Firesign crew.

  • @slessorpr I would suggest that you visit the Firesign Website. Under updates 2006 there is an announcement proclaiming the Firesign 'Hot Shot' videos on YouTube. Maybe you should investigate before making false claims or are you just another Bozo on this bus?

  • this was great when I was 13.

  • Yipes! FT meets Commander Cody!, Awesome

  • The Firesign Theater is a group of the craziest geniuses of comedy ever to grace the airwaves. This spoof is excellent, as anyone with half a wit will realize. (Of course, who knows how someone with a whole wit would respond!) I laffed and laffed. These guys are wonderful!

  • Since when did Firesign EVER have an actual female voice? gut tells me it isn't them

  • not them...correct...

  • @76gremlinguy The Firesign had female's in "I Think We're All Bozo's on this Bus"...Take a look at the cover. It's them.

  • simply awesome, I saw these guys live in Washington...

  • Does anyone out there have FST's J-Men Forever? I saw it a couple of times on the old USA network show UP ALL NIGHT.

  • J-Men was cool! (Or before that, on Night Flight).

  • Yes, I have it on DVD...seeing it on USA turned me on to their albums...hope they do some more

  • Yes, it's still avaialable!

  • @ClaudeParish ON DVD NOW

  • "I'm so tired, I didn't get any sleep..."

Yup, that's gen-you-wine Firesign, all right!

I laughed, I cried, I fondled my remaining handguns!

  • Wouldn't have guessed the Firesign theater guys were NRA members. :) Very funny that the mission is to remove the last handgun in a city destroyed by nukes.

  • Of course, it's a spoof, and your comment was also funny. (really) But here is the ironic part: Many of these anti-gun idiots will be up a creek when a terrorist strike/natural disaster hits them, because they'll be defenseless at the mercy of the looters! Ha, ha, jokes on THEM!

  • Oh well. As far as I can tell, there is no reasoning with people. Both sides will equally invoke the name of "science" to prove their side. It just has to happen -- massive gun confiscation followed by your neighbors being carted out at O-dark with bags over their heads, or street gangs come to kill your loved ones while they take your stuff. At that point, some of these NPR-listening fools will say, "gee, I wonder if I should reconsider my opinion"...

  • If you can't tell that this is Firesign Theatre, if even by the voices alone, you don't know them!

  • Hahaha! Hilarious Firesign! Of course people that say it's not funny, just don't get it! I remember back in High School I bought one of their albums, didn't laugh at it once, then 4 years later pulled it out and got all the jokes, I think! Now, I'm a big fan! Love 'em!

  • This may (or may not) be Firesign, but it's not funny.

  • nah its just your lack of a sense of humour

  • This is exiting isn't it?... Isn't it?

  • the accursed shall be advised of the absence of his rights under the secret code of military toughness and will act accordingly

  • Yes, this is a genuine Firesign Theatre production. It was part of a tape release called "Hot Shorts!" I believe you can order it on DVD from Fred Wiebel.

  • Unlike some of the doubters on this site, I went to the Firesign Theatre web site to find out the truth about these Hot Shorts videos. Guess what? They are the real deal. Still don't believe? Go to the Firesign web site and check out the news archives for 2006 and you'll see a notice placed on December 14th Announcing Hot Shorts on YouTube. Case closed!

  • This is funny, but I do not think it is the Firesign Theater either. Not their voices, not their style.

  • Last samurai, make your wish.

  • 'didnt sound like Bergman or Ossman - but had some firesign run-ons. Damn good whoever did it!

  • This video has NOTHING to do with the Firesign Theatre. It is bits and pieces from "Radar Men From The Moon" and "Phantom Empire". The latter is 'famous' for being the first film appearance of Leonard Nimoy. People may think that this is a piece of "J-Men Forever", but it ain't.

  • This is Firesign Theatre? I don't recognize a single voice.

  • Sheriff Lugar Axehandle on the job!

  • Holy samolians, batman, we've won again!

  • Just when I think I have seen(heard) everything Firesign; this comes along like the smack at the end of a cold wet fist! Many thanks for bringing this jewel to light.
